Hi..
Is there any way to get the CRT screenlock animation on JB Leak1?
It used to work in GB and ICS but is no longer working in JB.
Ive talked toaltered about this because jb based roms dont have crt screen off animation. Fixing the animation will take some time.

Thanks Man..
Yup. Haven't figured out how to enable it in 4.1.2 yet..
Sent from my paranoid phone's mind
Hey guys, I wanted to know how to enable the CRT animation back. I'm on stock ICS, rooted.
It was working fine until I installed Power Toggles, and gave administrator permission to activate the 'screen lock' option. When I clicked on the screenlock button, my phone's screen locked, but without the usual animation. I tried deactivating the Power Toggles screen lock, but my locksreen animation just won't come back. Any ideas? I miss the unique CRT style animation..

Just reflash stock ics or fxz
Edit..im uploading you a stock version with power toggles and CRT animation.
Edit2... http://db.tt/DdRRhvIE this is the stock rom with crt animation and power widgets. Flash with bmm or boostrap.
http://db.tt/pbTSNqEi this is an 1200oc zip.

I'm actually new to flashing and whatnot. I've only just rooted my phone a couple of weeks ago. But to my knowledge, flashing requires me to do a factory reset beforehand, right? That sounds awfully troublesome.. Isn't there an easier alternative, like tweaking some internal settings or anything like that?

Oh, I see. One last question, just for safety, since I've never done it before. Will flashing the stock rom erase any of my current data or settings in my phone?

as long as you don't wipe, theoretically it will not.
You should expect bad things though. you could bootloop for some reason and have to wipe or something. Just do a backup in recovery of everything so you can always recover.

I only installed the software cwm recovery (not nvflash), so I have no way out now. I haven't done anything serious except flash paul's patch and use titanium to uninstall some crapware like qik, that reader software, polaris office, etc.. nothing OS related, just apps. I also removed the GPS software, so I don't know what killed it exactly.
After removing those apps with TB, everything ran fine except I kept getting a force close from Qik... so I rebooted. Now it doesn't load and freezes on the LG screen with the loading bar not moving.
I don't know of any other options at this point...
Load up nvflash and get CWM on there so you can vol down + power into it. Then wipe data/cache and reboot.
You're not bricked even tho you think you are

brick means HARDWARE LOCK or SOFTWARE LOCK
if your screen turns on at all... there is hope
fallow gideonx instructions... they have a nice tut set up for Nvflash
plus a one click type thing in the development section
I'm bricked for the time being until I can get home. I'm locked out of the device manager here at work, so I can't install the nvflash driver. Ignorant sons o'....
Sometimes I really hate the IT department.
Hopefully this is a warning to everyone else that if they want a custom recovery, they should bypass the rom manager option as it's too dangerious and just do the nvflash option.
For now nvflash is a better option instead of RM.
So I got home and used nvflash to put the latest cwm recovery on it. I wiped cache and rebooted... it shutdown the phone instead. So I manually turned it back on and it did the same thing.
So I did a full wipe and flashed a rom... and now it bootloops. I may very well have a bricked device after all.
Flashed which rom?
Here's a nandroid restore you can use:

Actually it is completely gone now... seems like I have a defective device.
It won't boot into recovery or anything for that matter now, it just freezes at the first LG screen (the one without the progress bar). What's even weirder is I haven't really done anything to it... just installed and ran apps/games. I shut it down so I could install CM, but it won't boot into recovery or anything.
I tried redoing nvflash and it went fine, but it still won't boot into recovery.
This really sucks too... right on the eve of CM for this thing.
I got a request earlier today to make deodexed versions of the EP3HA release, as I had made for the EP1W (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260214) release. So here it is. These files are 7zip just like the original release from TBH. I tried .zip .rar and .7z and found the highest compression was with .7z so thats what I used.
There are absolutely no changes from the TBH release except that it is deodexed. It will delete all data and leave you stock rooted, including the recovery, so you will certainly want to follow up your ODIN flash with a flash of CWM 4.0.0.8, which is also attached.
EP3HA Full Deodexed
EP3HA Debloat Deodexed
CWM Recovery 4.0.0.8
In case you want to use the Debloated version, but there are still some apks that you want from the full version, here is a link with all of the original apks from the full version:

Yes, that is the stock theme. However, because it is deodexed, you can either theme it yourself, or use a theme that is already out there.

Deodexed allows [easy] theme creation and install. It is possible to theme without deodexing, but its more difficult. Aside from that, no advantages that I know of. Some have claimed performance differences one way or the other, but I don't think there is any substantial difference.
If you are asking what is deodexing...http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-odex-and-deodex-in-android-complete-guide/. Basically, for each apk there is an odex file, by deodexing you combine them into a single file.

Buzzing, popping crackling noise issue solved?
I've had issue with buzzing, popping crackling noise during a phone call running several different Gingerbread roms, until I encountered this one. I honestly don't know the reason or the cause of the buzzing noise running on other GB roms prior to this one.
I've been running the full deodexed version of this ROM for a few days now, and it has been running flawlessly, no more buzzing noise issue so far. I made sure I took cautious steps installing it. First, I installed the factory EE4 rom properly, back to stock, before I odin this rom. Then I installed Imnut's [8-17-11] Clockwork Mod Recovery (the orange version), and backed up everything. Then I installed imoseyon's GB kernel, v3.1.0, and backed up everything. I use GO Launcher EX (not a big fan of TW stock launcher).
I'll continue testing and will report if I run into the same issue.
hey stranula just a quick question, would it be possible for you or someone who knows how (if its not hard I could even learn myself) to make a CWM package of the debloated leak? I like to be 'bleeding edge' lol and run rom betas but its a pain in the ass to have to Odin back to stock every time to start over when I mess something up

Lol. No prob. FYI, when I said I ran a backup, I was using CWM 4.0.1.4 to do an image backup of the whole system.
I hope that solves your buzzing issue. I'm still buzz-free so far.
Well I just made a couple phone calls and no buzzing or crackling. I hope it holds out. I didn't do the cwm backup. Do you think that's necessary to avoid the static noise?

No, no effect to the static noise issue.
I just recently discovered this nifty tool (cwm backup) myself. The image backup/restore feature lets you backup your current system, as a whole, in case you want to restore it at later date. It stores it into a file in clockworkmod folder. Usually whenever I'm satisfied the way my system works, I'd back it up to the card. And if I want to try a different ROM, for example, I'd run a backup before flashing the new ROM, and if I feel like going back to my previous system, I can just restore it from the card. I may choose to backup the new system prior to doing that, just in case I want to flip back to it. The feature seems to be working well for me. YMMV.
Was having some troubles with my phone so I decided to do a factory reset, wiped everything and flashed Synergy 1.3 and Imo Leankernel. I got everything restored with TB and seemed to be going fine. Then I figured out the home button wasn't working. I turned off the screen and tried turning it on using the home button and it works fine, but once I get onto my home screen or in an app it absolutely won't work. I tried long pressing it to see if it will bring up the recent apps--it doesn't. I have no idea where to go from here. I'm new to flashing and I don't know what I could have done to make this happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have the unlocked icon so I don't think I will be able to get Verizon to replace it. Thanks in advance.

first step would be to download the stock odin image from samsung-updates.com and flash that. See if the button works. If it doesn't work, somehow you borked your phone in the wierdest way but hey who knows.
Also flashing this will take away the locked icon.
Other option would be to flash a different rom, like beanstown, or mine, and see what happens. If it doesn't do it there, I would reflash synergy, but after verifying the md5.
Also are you using any sort of launcher (apex, nova, go, etc.), I noticed my home button was a little finicky with them?

I was using Apex at the time, but I also tried Nova and TW to no avail. It was the weirdest thing...so I ended up flashing ParanoidAndroid Hybrid Jellybean ROM and it is working out great for me so far. No issues with the home button, and even if it does happen again, I have the on-screen keys to save me
Alright so I was running ParanoidAndroid for a little bit, but I saw that the new Synergy 1.4 was released. I figured with a clean wipe and install everything would be back to normal. Installed fine, restored everything fine, rebooted just so everything would be working properly and then the problem is back again. Is there any way it would be something that I am restoring onto my phone? I still just have no idea...I downloaded a temp virtual home button so it still functions, but I'm at a loss here. Same issue as last time. My home key will turn on the screen, but then is useless after that.

I did get 155 to load properly, but I have another question. I tried to use the AOSP lockscreen, and it locked the phone up on reboot. Had to boot to recovery and nandroid back a saved config. Is the AOSP not an option, or is there something I missed?

Reboot into recovery and wipe the cache and Dalvik cache. Only problem is you'll have to do that every time you reboot your phone. No biggie but still an extra couple of steps in case you reboot.
I think a few users have noted that this or something similar happens when the ripple effect, or other TW effects are still enabled when you switch over to AOSP lockscreen. Try turning those off.
Also, r155 is buggy because Esch rushed it for us. He released an improved r169 last night, which has a lot of common r155 bugs fixed. Here's the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792499

You can disable apps in settings, but that's only certain ones and not system services like the updating one.
I want to switch to a 4.2.2 ROM ASAP. Is the CM 10.1 stable as a daily driver with minimum bugs and the same battery life?
Ya, cm 10.1 has better bat life. I liked liquidsmooths settings better though. Carbon doesn't seem to be as stable atleast for me. But it seems like no one else is having the problems I'm having. I recommend twrp recovery. Run it, see what you think. PM me if you need help.

Cant really comment on the best one. I liked Carbon, PAC and CM10.2 when I tried them. I think most of the kinks have been worked out of the AOSP based roms. Though I usually stick with modified stock roms when not using a nexus device. I usually have the best luck, stability wise, with them.
BTW I love your avatar. I watched that movie all the time when I was a kid. :highfive:
I took an xt 925 today, but i have some knowledgment from my Razr I, which is + - the same procedure/flash.
I want to install some custom roms, so basically all i have to do is unlock my bl, install a custom recovery and try out?
I'm asking that, because i'm on jelly bean, but its a carrier based firmware, and i dont know if this model got any limitation which break me up.
I apparently cannot get any ROM to install properly. I installed CyanogenMod 10.1, and it worked fine. The phone booted fine, but then I installed another ROM, and I CAN'T get past the Warning Bootloader Unlocked screen at all. I've tried a million times to get into recovery and then I finally do. Then I finally get in there, and I mount system, format twice, and I install a ROM.... Doesn't work. I'm still stuck at the bootloader unlocked screen.
What do I do?!

First off, don't mount system. When you flash it will automatically mount it. You need to wipe cache, and dalvic cache. Generally you also need to wipe data as well. You don't need to wipe more than once. Then flash the ROM.

The thing is, I couldn't get back into recovery at all. I had to try like 50 times holding down the buttons to finally get it to even boot to the recovery select screen, and even then it wasn't a sure thing if I were going to get it to boot into recovery. I flashed another ROM, and it still didn't work. I read on the Droid forums that you need to mount system first and then flash, so I tried that and my phone booted up right away.
