sorry if this is a silly question, but I just read somewhere that a locked TF700 only has 3 boot icons (no fastboot), whereas unlocked ones have 4 icons. I bought mine on warehouse deals and have 4 icons - does this mean I'm unlocked and don't have any warranty? Or is there any other way to find out whether I'm unlocked?
thanks for any pointers!

The old bootloader has 3 icons, the newer bootloader has 4.
Unlocked devices display the text "The Device is UnLocked" in the upper left corner on the boot screen - if yours doesn't, it's not unlocked.

the question is... is this possible?
I mean... the Omnia W / Focus Flash does it. I just think the power button is really "not sensible" enough to feel right. The home button would be more confortable, since it's a physical "clicky" thing, not capacitive like the 800.
Any way to registry mod or anything to make it work on the lumia too?
It might be possible but you'll need to be on a fully unlocked custom rom and that's not possible atm (only if yours got shipped with an unlocked bootloader)
Oh... that's unfortunate =/
Thanks for the answer!

I thought it didn't matter if it was shipped with a unlocked bootloader or not because you could always flash QC bootloader onto it.

Can you guide me to a thread describing how-to? I'd like to do that but in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587650, it's still stated that you need the QC bootloader
This is probably what you are looking for:

You might also want to check this, to flash with a Custom ROM:

Thanks. Do you now if that works also on the 800. (The 900 is completly a different story right?)

Hello i just unlocked the bootloader
After unlocking new boot image show in every restart
You phone is not trusted your bootloader now is unlocled
How to remove this screen ???
by relocking your bootloader theres no option to remove that screen AND keep an unlocked bootloader currently just have some patience, maybe a solution will come up soon, so no sense in asking the same question over and over in 10 different threads AND opening up separate threads for this

Bought a ""new"" One A9, came with unlocked bootloader. Is it safe to use?
The seller listed it as new, it was clear from the ad that it wasn't but this is not the problem (the price was right for a used phone in good conditions).
The phone has an unlocked bootloader (or so it seems from the animation on startup) and I fear that it may not be safe to use in these conditions. Furthermore, I fear about potential issues with warranty.
What do you think?
Non carrier versions of the A9 were in fact sold with unlocked boot loaders. The only A9s that came outta the box with locked boot loaders were carrier versions such as Sprint, At&t, etc.
Sent from my HTC One A9 using XDA Labs
I think I haven't explained myself correctly. I think that the phone has been rooted, as before the boot animation I see an image of an open padlock. Am I correct?

Hello
I recently unlocked the bootloader and rooted my F8332 xperia. Everything is/was going fine. But today when I checked the status of my bootloader in the service info menu. It said "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" rather then "Bootloader unlocked :Yes" like it should. It's odd because i still have TWRP and AndroPlus. Also my phone still provides the "This device is unlocked" warning screen when i boot my phone.
Is this something I should be concerned with, or should i continue using my phone assuming it's unlocked?
Thank you

I am 99.9% certain that I will be upgrading to a Pixel 4a in the near future. Naturally, I will want to root. Is it possible to change/create custom boot logos/ splash screens after unlocking the bootloader? I have been able to do this with my multiple Moto phones. Unfortunately, my LG G6 was/is stuck with the hideous Unlocked Bootloader warning. While I can live with it on the Pixel as well, it would be nice to be able to change it, if possible.
Thanks!

I don't think it's possible. Bootloader on Pixel phones has a menu included... don't really think you'll be able to do that, or at least I don't know how to.
No, and you'll get a bootloader unlocked message at every boot. However, you can skip it with a double click of the power button. This is the same with any modern phone tbh. My samsung galaxy tab S 10.5 has the bootloader unlocked and it doesn't look like anything is changed, except for the lineageOS boot logo
