Hey i was messing around with the build.prop and i changed my pixle density to 150 and the icons were small but i liked it and then i thought hmmm.. i wonder what 100 would look like then. but thenn..... BOOT Freezes now just before the UI loads so the last second of the boot animation. my phone vibrates as it freezes i have a build.prop file on my pc and was wondering if i could modify the script my mkpark for fast boot.
here is what i have got.
Code:
fastboot flash x-loader ../files/x-loader.bin
fastboot flash u-boot ../files/u-boot.bin
fastboot flash boot ../files/boot.img
fastboot flash recovery ../files/cwm.img
i wanted to know if it is possible to make a line like this...
Code:
fastboot flash [COLOR="Red"]system[/COLOR] ../files/build.prop
as i dont know if system is a real term in this software. thanks or if it is could someone make a system.img for me with the build.prop from the ICS Port? thanks
Forget that.
Just boot into recovery and copy paste the correct build.prop

Guessing you used root explorer Boot in TWRP Recovery delete or rename build.prop look for build.prop.bak remove the .bak extension or Just USE twrp to copy build.prop to SD Mount USB edit copy it back or use vi Editor in terminal.

I rooted my Galaxy Pocket lately and installed LCD modder just to try changing the dpi settings. i changed the stock 120 dpi to 160 and clicked save. the phone froze and i had to pull of the battery. after i restart all i get is a boot loop. i get 3 things (1) s5300 logo (2) animated samsung logo (3) flashing samsung logo which appears just before the lock screen appears ( 1 and 2 vibrations during this) and then it loops all over again. as i understand the change i dpi is not supported for my device and it is not loading into the home screen. the solution seems to be editing the build.prop file to reassign the stock dpi value. but to access the file i have to get into adb mode and have the device available in the list. but since debugging mode was not selected before i essentially soft bricked my phone i am not able to access my device in adb mode. i am able to get into recovery mode tho.any way to edit the build.prop file from this debugging off situation?? I am aware that i can flash it, but i havent backed up data yet and dont wana loose it.....help is much appreciated..........thanks a ton..
Download omap4boot.
Go into fastboot mode.
Open omap4boot
Type;
adb pull /system/build.prop
Find it , edit it then type ;
adb push /location of the edited build.prop/build.prop /sdcard
The edited build.prop is in your sdcard now.
Boot into recovery and put it in your system and you're all systems go.

The user iulian1421 has been kind enough to provice me with a zipped Nandroid backup. This means that we now have acces to both dual-sim, and single-sim firmwares. If you want to give it a try, flash the CWM recovery, unzip this file and place it in SD card. apply the backup through CWM restore option.

So, you want to root the phone? Alright let's get you started!
1. Download this file. This is a .zip I made which contains all the files you need to root the phone. It might be confusing at first, but you'll be doing this with your eyes closed after 2 times.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fxqckmx2jx6b573
2. Extract the files into a folder you like (mine is Desktop/ROOT, so that i cant forget where it is)
3. Shut down your phone, pull out the battery. next, plug it into your pc with the battery still out. open device manager, and youll see
* unknown device
*mtk 57*** preloader with (!) triangle.
4. Manually install the drivers for that device which you can find in the folder you extracted. Be sure to install the drivers provided for your OS!!!
5. After installing, put the battery back in your phone and unplug it for now.
The actual rooting process
1. Open the folder > Flash tool > run Flash_Tool.exe
2. Click scatter-loading, and select the MT6577_emmc_aa66_Acer_AV051_V360_1.003.00_WW_GEN1.txt file. (you can find that in the scatter folder)
3. From the list, check the mark at Recovery. (All other marks should be UNCHECKED)
4. Double click recovery, and select recoE1-superuser.img from the Images folder.
5. Click download, and confirm the popup with yes.
6. With the power of the phone still off, connect it to usb
7. Next you will see the progress bar turn red, then yellow, and if it's finished correctly you will see a green popup ring appear in the flash tool.
8. remove the usb cable from the phone, and boot into recovery mode (volume + and power buttons)
9. Go to the recovery, and you will be presented an android triangle! dont worry, just press volume + once.
11. Now highlight the reboot system now, and you're all done
12. Give a thanks, and subscribe to this thread. If i get the permissions from them I will update this thread with the new creations of Vache, and Paugustin, as well as my own.
#Update 2#
Vache has released a CWM (v 6.0.2.8) onto his website. Flash this one like you would when flashing any boot img (see tutorial for that)
http://www.vache-android.com/Smartphones/Liquid%20E1/recovery/CWM-6.0.2.8_Acer-E1.img
Release TWRP recovery, the swipe to action is still not working, waiting for a fix!

Give this guy a big thanks for the awesome work he is doing!!!
Revert back to stock rom/ Unbrick device
Unbricking the phone or revert back to stock rom
This guide is written with the intention of being as noob friendly as possible. I know some things around here are a bit hard to understand, so I wrote it like this just so that everyone could understand.
First of all, you want to download and install the drivers from the acer site:
http://www.acer.nl/ac/nl/NL/content/drivers
* you might need to look up your phone model again here, which is V360 (you can type that into the model name bar and it will redirect you to the correct
page).
Once downloaded you want to download these 2 files:
Here is the ROM : https://truck.it/p/NSKm45nxjh
Here is ADB+ Fastboot: http://d-h.st/592
Once you've got both files downloaded (main rom is 600mb), unzip the rom first. You will get 2 folders:
* Database_Acer_AV051_V360_1.003.00_WW_GEN1
* Images
The Images folder is what we need most. You want to extract all contents from the ADB/fastboot zip file into the Images folder.
After you've done that (and assuming the drivers you installed are working correctly, a reboot of your pc might be required for that), shut down the phone.
Plug your phone into your pc with a USB cable (pretty obvious right?)
Hold the Volume + and Power buttons until it vibrates and shows you a nice little recovery menu. From here you need to pick the 'Fastboot'.
(Volume + is scrolling through menus, and volume down is selecting!!!)
After you've done that, you are shown the acer logo, with a small line of text underneath it which you can't completely read. Don't worry, its normal and if
the drivers are installed correctly it'll work anyways.
Now that you have set everything up you're ready to flash everything back to stock!
Once inside the folder containing the img files and adb/fastboot and their .dll files, you need to open a cmd in that window:
shift+ right mouse button > open command window here.
in the cmd screen now type this:
* fastboot flash boot boot.img - wait until it's finished. you will get an error or completed message in
the cmd screen.
* fastboot flash recovery recovery.img - should be done in a few seconds.
* fastboot flash system system.img - this will take long, because as you can see its over 600mb, don't give
up, first time it took me about 3 minutes to finish.
After flashing the system.img is done, wait for 10 seconds, then pull out the usb cable. Remove the battery from the phone, reinstert it, and boot it as usual. This should have flahsed your phone back to the stock JB Acer provided, including all apps and bugs that came with it.
great
i have rooted Acer Liquid E1, great, i waiting for next users happy we need big community for this big phone THX
Re: [GUIDE] Acer Liquid E1 All-In-One Guide
It's growing and I'm sure we'll see some nice stuff for this phone

atm I'm playing around with build.prop tweaks until Vache brings us init.d support and a flashable zip file for roms, I cannot make one. I also have succesfully installed Bravia Engine from sony, looks great!
Hi I did exactly as instructed and got all steps done right but I am not rooted.. Any idea why Thanks
Just tell us what happened. If you're not rooted it means something did not work and that is probably because you missed something. Check all the steps and try again. If you have an error message tell us what and when.

Hmm, can you check up on the drivers? what does it show when you plug in the phone while the power is off?
I have no idea wether you're new to rooting etc or not, but have you checked these 2?
ADB Debugging on: settings > options for developers> turn on adb debugging
unknown source on: settings > security > turn on unknown sources
I believe those 2 settings are your problem

Thanks for the reply man. I figured it out. I had to go to recovery and then reboot from there. One I did that I am rooted. Now hopefully some custom rom will appear.
hehe good to know! I was wondering if I had maybe forgotten something in the tutorial.. if you're a benchmark believer, im making a rom as of now, got the antutu scores up from +-2400 to -+2800.
Edit: I've gotten it up to 3k, quite proud of that!
I still can't make a real flashable rom because there is no fully functional CWM for this device yet.
I want to make a camera mod atm, but there is no media_profiles.xml present...anyone knows where its at or what the right file is?

It's on Vache ftp : http://vache-android.com/Smartphones/Liquid E1/recovery/CWM-6.0.2.8_Acer-E1.img
To flash you just have to use the exact same method used for rooting. Just use this .img instead of the rooting recovery.img
Re: [GUIDE] Acer Liquid E1 All-In-One Guide
Ah yes ive downloaded that one alteady. I cant flash any images every time i get an error or it says completed but nothing is changed in system...
Sent from my V360 using xda app-developers app
It happened to me once, the flashing went ok but the recovery would not start at all. I flashed from another computer and it went OK.

My Recovery is another cwm 6.0.2.8, i have porting from bruno martins basis for MTK 65xx emmc/mtd.....
I have added usb Mount file into ramdisk.
I'm Lucky76 in other forum (italian and Modaco)
This is an Advance Tr4987 tablet with reflected screen issue, i have no updates nor support from their maker. The only clue is a similar issue with ONN tablets which also use the same Mediatek SoC (MT6580) and at least i want to invert the touch to use as is.
After many days i got a backup and scatter file, at least the boot files and installed Magisk to edit system files. However, the build.prop typical edit (add ro.sf.hwrotation) resulted in bootloop and some russian threads points this tweak to items.bin file.
I renamed it as items.ini and text editors can show what's inside, edit and rename it again as items.bin. The only problem is to put it back, SP Flash Tool is not detecting my tablet using the same sequence than Miracle Box (vol - while connecting the tablet turned off). Did i miss something?
Otherwise, where are written those arguments in system files? Tablet has Android 8.1
Since no sources points to this tablet, Advance Tr4986, i uploaded the Magisk patched boot image for anyone who want to root this model.
boot_advance_tr4986.img
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.
www.mediafire.com
There still need some steps to use it.
- Rename the file to boot.img
- Put tablet in fastboot mode (vol+ and Power by 7-10 seconds, then select fastboot from menu)
- From PC, send the command "fastboot oem unlock" (maybe it need to activate from Deveoper options in Android first).
- Then "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and once finished, "fastboot restart".
- In android, go to apps menu and give Magisk permissions to install apps and connect tablet to internet for the rest of installation of Magisk.
As always, make a backup. I suffered a lot finding someone with Miracle Box and patience only for this file.
Once rooted i found other scatter file, only intended to change items.ini and boot logo. I renamed items.bin to items.ini and indeeed, is a heavy text file.
Default rotation was 270 degrees and after adjusting to 90 and reverting x axis instead of y due to this tweak, now touch works with the mirrored screen. The earlier problem with SP Flash Tool also was associated with the original scatter file i had.
I am uploading a zip with the scatter file and modded items.ini file. Just keep in mind this scatter file is only intended to flash boot logo and items.ini, the rest is empty. At the good side, no root required.
I also upload it to mediafire since is my own discovery.

Hello everyone!
I came across a post by @paulhauth25 where he made a custom boot logo, he
also said he could make other logos but it seems like he hasn't been online
for a while.
So, I investigated how to make my own logo for our z3 play, here are my findings.
This guide could work for any motorola supported by the software, but I won't get
into other phones.
1. Download the necessary tools, Franco28 made a pretty cool software called MotoBootLogoMaker.
2. Download the original logo.bin for the Moto Z3 Play:
I've attached it in this post. I think it may be included in the LogoMaker, but here
it is either way.
3. Make/Download the logo you want.
The Moto Z3 Play resolution is 1080x2160, the software allows you to choose
the PNG (not jpg or any other format) of your choice and center it or stretch it
to the edges of the screen.
4. Put everything in the software.
First open the LogoMaker, then drag the logo.bin previously downloaded into the
center of the LogoMaker window, wait a bit while it extracts the image components.
Then you can choose any of the individual components of the logo.bin and replace
their image with your png. The bootscreen starts showing the logo_boot and
logo_unlocked, then it shows the orange1 screen, orange2 if you press the power
button, the yellow and red screens should only be shown if you lock the bootloader
again with a custom rom installed, so you shouldn't need to change them. The rest
of the components are the charging screen and the images shown in the bootloader.
5. Export the new logo.bin and flash it.
Once you finish configuring your work of art, you can select the "Logo Build Path" of
your choice and click the Build button, the new logo.bin should be in the folder you
selected previously.
Then you can just flash the logo.bin with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot flash logo <path to your logo.bin>
And thats it! Enjoy!
I made a Lineage OS bootscreen if you wish to try it out, I attached it below.
P.D. Maybe I should move this post to Guides, News, & Discussion.
With a few modifications made to a script made by Nicolas72, it's possible to flash a custom splash screen for the Mi 9 Lite (pyxis)! The original post for Mi 9 can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mi-9-splash-boot-image-creation-script.3952572/
Instead of 4 images, Mi 9 Lite uses 5 images and all of them are in 1080x2340 resolution with 24-bit color depth.
Flash instructions:
Download and extract Mi9LiteLogo.zip and replace the contents of each logo*.bmp file with your own. Make sure that before saving each bitmap file, the resolution, file size, and color depth stay the same.
Run the python script: python mi9_logo.py
After running the script, you should see a new file: logo_new_mi9lite.img
Boot your device into fastboot mode (Power off phone, hold down Power + Volume Down until the fastboot screen appears)
Flash using fastboot flash logo logo_new_mi9lite.img
After the image is written, you can reboot with fastboot reboot
You should now see the new splash screen. Enjoy
I hope you found this post helpful.
