My pin to decrypt phone does not work in twrp ?? Works everywhere else

Hello.
I have setup Lineage 13 port on my device Xiaomi Mi 5s (capricorn) and as usually i configured a pin and a fingerprint that were both working properly while on the system.
The very first reboot asked for my pin to boot the device, I inputed it, said it was wrong.
Same thing for TWRP.
Now i'm stuck and a data partition encrypted and i dont' know how to decrypt or mount it without decryption on twrp so i can flash the whole system again.
Can someone help? Thanks.
PS:
I hade lineage 14 before and i had pattern boot unlocking and it was working just fine.
I had TWRP 3.1.1.0 installed on my device and I upgraded to android 8.1 developer preview by dirty flashing via flashfire and after few days I tried rebooting into TWRP. TWRP was not there so I booted into TWRP using "fatboot boot recovery_file" command. TWRP prompted me to insert my pattern for data decryption but even when entering correct data decryption pattern, TWRP says I have entered incorrect pattern. I am able to boot into TWRP but my internal storage is encrypted and I cannot perfrom any action from TWRP.
Any solution guys?
Thanks

Is this a TWRP issue? Are you also facing similar problem?

Yes. It needs an update. Put whatever you want to install on a USB drive, use the adapter that came with your phone and plug it in. The switch storage in TWRP to USB OTG and install from there.

I don't use screen lock nor a password or pin, works fine on 8.1 I have backed up and restored 3 times for testing purposes.

I can confirm, google pixel (sailfish) with Oreo 8.1.0 , fastboot boot twrp-3.2.1-0-sailfish.img, decryption works now.
encrypted z5 dual and works but twrp cant seem to decrypt with the correct pin
any way to get twrp decrypt
stock 7.1.1 rooted
I installed a custom rom, said rom gave me problems so I was going to revert back to old rom. I removed my fingerprint and pin from security and I rebooted to twrp. Twrp asks for a pin so I tried to put in the one I had before and it says password invalid and nothing is working. My old pin doesn't work, default_password doesn't work. Both slots are encrypted and I can't decrypt my internal storage to backup my files. Is there any work around I can do?

The quick fix is format data. The other is hoping you have an otg cable to flash drive to reinstall that custom rom you have to access your data for backup.
Hi, i recently unlocked my phone bootloader (Redmi Note 10) and installed TWRP. It works fine, when i launch the recovery it asks me for my pattern lock and if i input it correctly it decypts the data. I wanted to try orangefox recovery because i prefer it for it's functonalities and look. I tried installing it but when i launch it it asks me for a text password/PIN. There's two problems here: First: i don't have a text password or a pin but a pattern lock. Second : i tried setting up a pin instead of a pattern lock in android but i still could'nt decrypt data when entering orangefox recovery.
I tried with the latest version of orangefox for the redmi note 10.
sorry for my bad english, i'm french.
(edit: by the way i don't want to format or wipe my data)

ASK in the official device thread. when coming from TWRP or stock recovery, you need to flash OF recovery using the .zip and not using .img file, else you will get installation problems. Of course, Formatting Data partition (not wiping) will solve your problem most likely (I saw your edit).
As for decrypting using a pattern, refer to the official TWRP command line dictionary. Pay attention to the section: Specific pattern decrypt note
Again. Ask in your device sub-forum.

Hey, thank you very much for your reply. I tried the pattern decrypt method but it did not work (my pattern would be 14569) I will ask in the device thread
(also yes i'm flashing orangefox with a zip file from TWRP)
