Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. A few days ago I rooted my HTC explorer successfully. Today I (forgot and) reset my phone to factory settings and now it is in continuous boot loop. I tried to rerun the "recovery.bat" instructions and reinstalling "Superuser.zip" but not successful. What should I do now? Installing a custom ROM? Is it possible to resolve this issue by flashing ROM with default firmware? Primarily I rooted my phone for some applications and I assume that installing custom ROMs have some disadvantages too (e.g., CPU load or reduced battery timings maybe). Am I right? Considering my requirements, I don't need a custom ROM that is why I prefer default ROM.
Please suggest some solution and the procedure to follow.
Thank you very much.
Try REBOOT BOOTLOADER
Hi,
I'm new guy too..
The same thing happened to my mobile after installing several apps (now i knew, I should NEVER do that) at once & I was worried just as you did.
My phone continuously restarted & was stuck at the logo
Planned for custom ROM flashing and just before that, eventually gave a try on my own.
Press power+volume down button after switching off.. you'll be directed to new screen with 4 options
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
************ (sorry.. cant remember)
SIMLOCK
Select FASTBOOT and then select "REBOOT BOOTLOADER" when 4 options comes under fastboot menu
Next select POWER DOWN from the same menu..
Now try restarting your phone normally. This could possibly work just as it happened to me. (I was so much relieved after it worked)
P.S: Dont ask me how it would work or why it didn't work.. bcoz as i said, I'm also new to android..
Cheers pal.. :fingers-crossed:

You are not supposed to use the factory reset in settings once you added a recovery. That would be the reason for your boot loop.
Now you may try to reset your phone with option available in recovery. It may help your device but chances are rare.
What i would suggest is to install a custom ROM which suits your needs and give life to your phone.
If you choose the ROM which suits with your usage you will not be having any problem.
Good luck with that

Hello, i am android newbie, but i use my 5801 for a few months. But with help of this forum i make from my stock phone pretty good machine for me. Everything was perfect, i instal cwm, root, kernel g3 2.4 oc,setcpu, bassbeats,... A still no problems. But two days back i tried to instal BLN via SGS kernel flasher within android. During flashing kernel it was o.k. but at the end phone freeze a take did not reboot. Just screen stay for 10 min same. So i decided to hold power button and turn off phone. After that all the user apps were gone. So i decided to recovery via cwm from backup. after that phone started , still no user apps, only system apps and no possibility to install anything cause task manager in phone showed 0kb data , like rom was not mounted or i dont know... I started panic and wipe everything boot, cache, sd,data ... just all. And reflash kernel 2.4 back to stock
After done that it was totally in ....hole. Phone could boot to recovery but, could not start android. Just logo "samsung" is still on the screen. I tried to instal firmware( samsung 5800 xwjpi with files sbl.bin and boot.bin through odin but still same...Only boot animation is changed now...And still is just shining "samsung" logo. Is there any chance to repare that? I think i should install bootloader but i am not sure how. Or is it automatically doing by flashing rom? Pls help if u can. Many thanks.

I think it's kernel related problem. Try to flash CM7 or Kyrillos 10 or use PuruKisadHybrid
It is possible that was only temporary problem as looks , freezing has never repeat again . But after your advices i tried flash cm7 i now use cm7 kyrillos 10.6. Just testing , only well known gaming issues yet. But now i know flashing is so easy :victory:
Hi all, I recently got a second hand Samsung galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) as a gift from a friend. I realized it had a problem that every time I went on certain applications especially settings I'd get a warning saying 'Unfortunately,'said app(settings)' has stopped.' I decided to factory reset my phone using the 'volume up, home button and power key' and I also wiped cache and even rebooted it, yet the problem still persists. Now when I try to turn on my phone and I get onto the set-up page when I try to press next it says 'Unfortunately settings has stopped' and takes me back to the start which I believe is called a boot-loop, I'm not sure though. I'm not to sure how my friend managed to get the phone to this state before he gave it to me and I think it may have either been that he downloaded a faulty application or that he tried to update the phone and then this problem occurred. Now I'm not too experienced when it comes to Custom Roms and things but I heard there is a solution which requires you to press the volume down and power key in order to download a Custom Rom but I'm not sure how I'll download one without the help of my phone(which remains in the boot-loop). And I'm also 100% sure that no Roms have been downloaded on the phone ever.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

I think downloading and flashing the rom from a computer would be easier. Just download the correct files from sammobile and flash them via Odin. Also you will need Samsung drivers, you can get them by installing kies or if you search here in the forums im pretty sure you'll find them too.

Hello, I need serious help with my phone.
So, after a long while of having my phone rooted, and had a case of boot loop with twrp, I decided to go back to stock os and hung up the root days. I thought i did it right by getting a stock os and flashed it, and it worked for couple months, until yesterday.
My phone keeps going into Cyanogen Recovery, I tried rebooting so many times, once it did boot up to OS, but it went back after i restarted phone or it died.
Now I can't no longer get back, I thought factory resetting will work but it didn't. (Tried both wipe cache partition and Full factory reset option from the recovery) I found unroot your phone toolkits, thinking it could help fix my problem and just unroot/ give me back to OS (I wished i found this before flashing that custom stock rom).
But the toolkit doesn't work for me, it finds adb devices, but it cant find fast boot devices, because my phone cant even go into fast boot.
I tried manual, and the option from the recovery, it keeps going back to recovery. I have an option for apply update, and then apply from ADB, that was the only way for my pc to recognize my phone from adb devices. Any clues on how to fix?

Will try, Ill respond back if anything happens!
Hmm I'm still having trouble because, I can't get into fast boot for some reason. It's keep going back to Cyanogen recovery. It has the option to reload into bootloader, but goes into cyanogen recovery again.
There is an option in dev options, uncheck the "update cyanogen recovery" and flash twrp again

Hi everyone,
I hope I am in the right forum to post my query. I am trying to find a solution to the existing Problem. Before I get to describe the problem specifically I must make it clear that this is my first time on any android forum. While trying to find a solution for the existing problem, I had to google words like Bootloop, Softbrick, TWRP, Custom Recovery, Root, Flash, ROM etc. They still do not make much sense to me (I will be reading more about them in the coming days). So now you can imagine how big of a Noob I am.
Well, I own a Moto G 1st Gen XT1033. Since yesterday it is in a Bootloop. The phone boots completely at times but automatically restarts itself after a while. Sometimes I have 1-2 minutes at maximum to use the phone. Until now I have been able to delete quite a bit of data for example pictures and certain apps because I thought that Bootloop was happening because of no space on the memory. The last app that I installed 3 days back from Google Play after which this problem started occurring, I was also able to uninstall it. Until now I have tried wiping out Cache by going in the recovery mode but that didnt fix the Reboot problem. I also tried holding the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button for 2 minutes (I read it on internet somewhere as a fix to the problem) but that didnt help either. I have never created a backup and I don't want to do a Factory Reset as a fix to the problem because I don't want to lose the data. I also tried to follow your solution for backing up data but I got lost. I don't know where to start from. Thats why I am writing here.
I don't know if my phone is rooted. I did turn on Developer Mode on my phone in the past (if this info helps).
I do not know which Android version I have but I am guessing that it is Lollipop.
I never installed TWRP or any Custom Recovery software on my phone before.
The battery is working ok.
What I am looking for is:
1) Step by step guide to create a backup
2) Resolving Bootloop issue if possible
Thanks
without custom recovery no data backup is possible.
u need to unlock your bootloader and install The Twrp recovery to perform the backup.
but only fix for you is factory reset.

Thank you @jbanti Apologize for my late response. As far as I know unlocking the bootloader will erase the memory. One can recover data by ADB Pull by using these Threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/moto-g-1st-gen-xt1033-boot-loop-stock-t3357472 (Post #4)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426426
So I know that there it is possible using`adb pull` command to take backup of whole device but I don't know how. I get lost in the 2nd thread. Any lead would be appreciated
Thanks
Hello, so after I install a custom ROM, after 2-3 weeks of using it, my phone gets stuck, and then reboots. After the reboot, the phone acts weird: no notifications are shown, home/recents buttons not working, some apps not working and not locking and some options just reset.
Thank you in advance.

?? Yep i know this thing few symptoms were shown on my osprey so it happened to me bz i just to test many custom rom and many time there residue remain uncleaned even after many twrp formats (it weird but i think this happens) so try clearing your intenal storageand (no need to clean memory just remove it) even remove you sim crad and memory cards
flash a recovery from your current recovery if there is not update just reflash the current recovery and then just make it a reboot to recovery ( msg will pop up no os found but there will be no issue if you're rebooting directly to the recovery)
So after reboot put your memory card in phone where you will store your rom and gapps ( if memory not detected just reboot to recovery one more time) puff install things let your sim cards in enjoy your rom
If this thing failes go install stock firmware its an ultimate solution
i finally flashed the stock os, hopefully no issues now!

The same issue happened to me yesterday
So, now I am trying to clean flash the custom rom first
I've been running a Lineage OS PIE version on my Moto G3 2015(Osprey) XT 1541 for several months now and not a single problem.I think it's a Fantastic Custom rom that you might like to try,
http://www.droidthunder.com/android-9-0-pie-on-moto-g3/
Note:
Before installing any Custom rom do a,"Nandroid" backup and then a Factory Reset.
Then once the rom has installed and before setting the phone up do another,"Factory Reset".
I've found this the best way to make sure the install is really good and clean
