[Q] Multiple Users - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone know if the new 4.2.2 roms for Galaxy Tab 2 7" support multiple users as it should? Anyone tested? Thanks!

The only "new" 4.2.2 ROMs for the tab 2 7" are custom ones like CM 10.1 - and yes they do support multi-users

multi user..
Yes, CM 10.1 supports multuser. However there is one frustrating thing about sharing of apps. User 2 cannot access user 1 apps.
You can use app-share application from play store to enable this feature. Same problem with sdcard content. user 2 cannot see user 1 content when connected to computer.

[Q] Galaxy Ace 2 Roms?

Cant find any? Search Google properly if still no then probably there are none it might be too new or developers dont use that model seen other people have a similar problem with the galaxy R, either wait or get a new device (unless you want to make yourself )

why would you expect the p3110 to be different than the P3113 and P3100 . Its all the same.

NEW ROM?
Good stuff, I found it out too before seeing this. If I had seen this post before, I didn't have to be as worried as I was when i was trying to root it.
I was wondering, since this is a Galaxy S3 clone, is it possible to use a SGS3 JB ROM in this box with minor tweaks? I have no hope that the company would release a JB ROM anytime soon, because not even the Chinese guys who made the tab provide a JB ROM. If I have other AUXUS X4 users to collaborate I will be happy to help out.
I don't think it will be too difficult to do a port of Cyanogen or something to this platform since the core part of the code is already there.
Cheers!

This is my version of it, Galaxy S3 has a small display compared to a Tablet and the ROM would be more customized for potrait view so resolution, camera, display type could be some of the issues.
The first step would be to get a working CWM, I have been trying for two days to get a CWM to work on this but all methods have failed so far as it seems the bootloader is locked and the commads don't work much.
The closest match from samsung family to our device would be Galaxy Note 10.1 and it already has officical JB for UK so that can be used but again resolution and Camera won't match and that might need a little effort as the display and camrea hardware is different.
we might get lucky if some dev already has this tablet and can help us

ROMS Look Like A No-Go.. Maybe A Repacked Kernel?

Well.. I have past the point of "No Return" for my Galaxy Tab 3 8.0.. And have decided to keep it because the Price Point - Size - Features fit my needs nicely.. without spending Note 8.0 money for the privilege of having ROMS to play with. It appears the Tab 3 Class of Tablets just do not have what it takes for Developers to show interest in porting over ROMs and I understand that..
But I would like to ask if anyone has the skill to Re-Pack a Kernel for the Exynos Platform of the Tab 3 8.0 so that we can explore the full potential of the 1.5 Ghz processor with a little Overclocking.. That would be nice...

CyanogenMod for my 10.1 Galaxy Tab 2?

I want to use CyanogenMod for my 10.1 Galaxy Tab 2.
The main reason is I want the native Android Multi User support.
This is a big deal for me.
However, few questions:
1. Which version of CyanogenMod is best in terms of reliabilty and speed? It must have the multi user support.
2. What features will I lose on my Tab if I run this ROM? I hear we lose connectivity with Samung TV's?
3. Will I be able to completely remove an app such as 'maps'...as I require installation of an older version for my work. The latest updates remove features I need.
3. Anything else I need to know?
Thank you!
1. Which version of CyanogenMod is best in terms of reliabilty and speed? It must have the multi user support.
I've used 10.2 from the development forum ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391355 ). It's pretty stable and is multi-user.

Any app that depends on the touchwiz framework won't work on a non-Samsung ROM. As far as controlling you TV; CM10.2 and PAC-ROM both have support for IR.
3. Will I be able to completely remove an app such as 'maps'...as I require installation of an older version for my work. The latest updates remove features I need.
If you're rooted you can remove maps, but you'd need something to keep Play store from updating it.
3. Anything else I need to know?
You've got to be rooted to do any of this.
Cm 10.2 is stable, fast, smooth. I use with dhollmen kernel and I made 12,2k in antutu. But you lose TV connectivity and IR blaster
I will ask here...
Im using CM10.2 and so happy with it...
I am thinking of buying a MHL HDTV adapter for my Galaxy Tab 2 p5100...
The question is... will it work on CM10.2??
Thank you...
