[ROM]Fast MIUI w/Sound (Released) and [ROM]AOSP and Unofficial CM7 with Sound(Soon)

Alright, now straight to business - The beloved MoDaCo developer TripNRaVeR has managed to get MIUI to work with sound, and fixed almost all issues. So far the few issues that I get are:
Camera - busted
Texts - some people seem to have issues
Sound - WORKING!!!
Themes - Busted

As per TripNRaVeR's request - there will be no mirrors to his work, and no direct downloads on XDA. So here is a link to his thread, where all the good things are cooked, and still cooking.
MIUI ROM - MOD EDIT
BEWARE THAT SOME USERS THAT USE OTHER THEMES (INCLUDING ME) ARE NOT ABLE TO UNLOCK THEIR PHONES AFTER THAT!! If you used other themes, and you are now locked out - please reinstall the ROM and do not touch the themes, until this bug is fixed
He is also working on AOSP / Unofficial CM7 with sound, to have us up and running till the great guys from Cyanogen release the nightlies so we can enjoy some genuine CM7

Ok guys, anyone whos having the SMS FC issue, I have a temp fix. It FC on me once after install but its been good since. Apply xBoarders CM7 Black MMS patch. Apply Zip normally via CW, after Fix Permissions, its Gingerbread MMS so its white by default, go to SMS Settings to change to black..

For faster speeds - You can install other kernels. I have tried with Faux kernel - and it works like a charm!!

3. Boot into CWM Recovery
4. Factory Reset
5. Wipe Cache
6. Flash the ROM
7. Go in Advanced, and wipe Dalvik Cache

It's not really anything in development per this thread unless you plan to update the op with flashing procedures and changelogs... even then it's not a dev thread... it's a tracking thread...

I mean, mr2324jgf is right. The AOSP ROM isn't even available yet and the OP has absolutely nothing to do with the development of it. He knows just as much as the rest of us at this point. Which is that there is a ROM in the works, which we still have to wait for. If we have to wait for a ROM we might as well continue to wait for CM7.

AOSP rom is not up yet, but MIUI rom is.
I will add changelogs for each one of them, to keep the XDA community informed on the work done by the great dev.
But if you guys dont like it - I will ask the mods to remove the thread.

If you are gonna keep up with it to post updates, changelogs, links etc. then go for it. I just think the thread is a bit premature at this point but what's done is done.

I just installed it and like always first thing I did was to test my 4G speeds and they are twice as fast. I never get 9mbs. Get usually around 3 or 4.

The thing that will make my ass hit the ceiling is if we manage to get the Wifi calling to work. I tried with faux kernel and installed the wifi calling patch from xboarder - but its a no-go. I was thinking that the problem is with the kernel, but I guess I was wrong.
Would be great if someone makes that badboy work with wifi calling, so I can get to use it

Did the themes that you installed use the vertical lockscreen?
If its horizontal lockscreen - everything is great, but when its vertical (locking from up to all the way down) - it wont unlock

[ROM]Kang_Clam(KANG) CM7 to AOSP revert {2.3.7}

First and foremost...Anything you read or flash from here I am not responsible for. If your kitten dies tomorrow or your phone eats your face in your sleep it is not my problem. You should have fed them better. If your phone adjusts itself to paperweight mode, well it was a long time coming for that rock to give up. It is not my fault. You shouldn't have dug the root out from under that rock.
I named this project Kang Clam, simply because to me it is a learning experience so everything is just opening up to me. A clam opens slowly in unfamiliar territory and that is the same as what is going for me. I am still trying to figure it out.
I am by no means a developer. This is just a project I started as a learning experience. The main reason I started this is because there is no way to make an AOSP rom off of the OTA files we where given from LG and NVIDIA. So I decided for a learning curve to work from known working CM7.2 files back to AOSP.
Updates will not be fast nor steady, because like I said I am still learning. I will continue to better the rom but at my own pace. Accept that or do not flash it and do not ***** if there is a problem. BUT if you do find a problem I do not mention please report it so I can trouble shoot it.
So, I decided to make a project similar to faux's but I don't know much. So I decided to reverse engineer cm7 code to revert it to AOSP. Progress will be slow because I am doing this for the simple fact of learning. But, what I have done so far is really stable so I decided to release it.
I will not accept requests simply because what i am doing is for my benefit and to learn. So basically this is my rom for me to update as I will. My sole intentions is to revert cm7 code back to aosp or as close as i can get it. The only reason I am releasing it is because, I myself like AOSP and everything that comes with it. And because I want to learn the just of what it takes to make it work. I do realize that most of what it takes to work comes with patches from Code Aurora Forums and numerous other places. And will remove most CM functions.
But, regardless this is my own personal project to revert things back to AOSP. I will work off of the same base as I have been using, because everything is working. If something gets broken then I will imply the patches necessary to fix it.
I fully intend to remove alot of cm7 functions. Including theme chooser, cm settings and many other cm7 features. Simply because i am learning and want to see if i can make it work without all that. I want to revert cm7 to AOSP so that is what I push towards, if it gets removed and you dont like it then flash an old version or flash cm7!
This does not include ANY google apps so you must flash the latest version of google apps the same as you would do with any CyanogenMod ROM!
But as of right now most of all of the cm7 features are still working.
What I have done so far:
Reverted System UI to AOSP
Reverted MOST apps to AOSP
Added Fugu Tweaks 4.0
Added some build.prop and init.d tweaks
Incorporated Morfic's latest and greatest T15 kernel
And a few other framework and system tweaks and reverts. I am no pro so bare with me. Updates will be slow, if you dont like it then move on to another rom...
Installation Instructions:
1.) Reboot into CWM Recovery
2.) Wipe data/factory reset
3.) Go to advanced>Wipe dalvik cache
4.) Go to mounts and format /system
5.) Install the desired ROM
6.) Reboot to enable WiFi
7.) Reboot to recovery and install gapps.
THERE IS NO GOOGLE APPS INSTALLED IN THIS ROM YOU MUST INSTALL GAPPS LIKE ANY CM7 [email protected]
There is add-ons. That I will be posting as well, for those who may want them. If I revert, I will also try to make an add on package to make things work, if I cant then oh well. Everything comes as is.

I will post a flashable of the ics transition animations in the morning. As well as the systemui reverts. The aosp systemui panel that krylon360 posted WILL work with this, BUT if you connect usb it WILL force close systemui. Im trying to figure out why still....its a known issue. Like i said i will eventually make reverts....

Hmm i will have a look at that. I always use wifi and dont have 4g in my immediate area. So havent really been able to notice that.

It wont cause according to people I talked too apperently the chip in the phone only support hspa not hspa + so what ever tmibile did to change it on our phone for the stock rom makes it say 4 g

I had wondered about that myself. Since i do not get 3g anywheres on any rom for my g2x. Only 4g thats still super slow (same speeds as using edge). Could be my area because their signal sucks around here. It seems like it treats all hspa as 4g icon wise. But not sure. I will look into more in the morning.

I personally think this ROM is much better than Eagleblood (HDMI works fine so far). However, cache partition should increase from 50MB to 100MB to avoid frustration (I got "insufficient storage" error when I tried to install 3 Angry Birds plus Opera Mobile and I have to use Root Explorer to delete these files there). Other than that, it works pretty well.

Awesome ROM. Found one bug. In CyanogenMod Settings, Interface Status bar tweeks doesn't work. Even after you make changes like battery percentage, it doesnt save the changes.

Very smooth ROM and the animations are awesome. Better battery life than EB 2.3.7 too.

[ROM] OXY-LITE [58 Mb] LIGHTEST ROM EVER! [FINAL RELEASE]

Okay, here goes:
I've been playing awhile with hrkfdn great ported Oxygen ROM.
It's already light and fast! All hail goes to original dev and all those big guys!
So I made a few alterations -mods, if you prefer. In fact, I pushed this ROM even further, I just got to know how light and how fast a ROM can be, while still wanted it to be good looking. Remove some, added some, playing with various tweaks here and there -can't really recall everything.
Tried hard not to reach 60 MB, it's fun for me to know that I'm using a very light ROM. So here it is, a 58 Mb ROM for our DHD, that's way way smaller than the usual Sense ROMs and still half of CM and MIUI ROMs. There's plenty of room for our OWN creativity
Who would want a ROM such as this? Those who are taking a break from all the complexity of Sense, those who prefer clean & pure android experience, those who seek a fast and solid yet uncluttered base for hard-core gaming, and above all: those who dare to begin a personal endeavor into the endless sea of the Droid Unknown.
-This ROM is based on the earlier version of hrkfdn's ported Oxygen. If you prefer to taste the originals, do visit the original thread.
-The FM Radio is not functional on Oxygen builds. However, I've been using this ROM for everyday use, and no biggies that prevent me from using my DHD the way it should be used, but let me know if there's something that really wrong, I might know the way around.
-I'm no dev and this is not really a 'new' ROM, but I do love to share.. If this ROM pleases you, don't forget there are buttons in this page to express it I have not stop from modding this ROM, still curious if I can make it below 50 Mb so most probable there will (still) be future releases.. will be updating.

Although the latest build is still here to download, and (evidently) still needed by some, and yes, this ROM is still among the LIGHTEST, FASTEST DHD ROM ever existed, I'm sorry to say that this project is now in full stop.

I have no DHD now, but I will still stop by once in a while, so if there are questions, feel free to still post here, ar PM me, if i have the answer I surely will reply.

No probs dude, its glass widgets. Free version from market. As is the time. I stuck with Go Launcher to edit icons and size of some things. On other pages I have Android Pro Widgets. Themed up nice now. Also have Seesmic widest for SN stuff.

Switched to conservative to try and slow battery drain. Still flying but i have LOTS of apps on board.

You need to learn dude. Search the forums. If you want to use my way add go Launcher and its theme maker app, to use t-mobiles theme chooser search for building a rom in general Android dev section, there is a really good easy guide.

I do the root explorer Bot FC con me.thnaks anyway.

[ROM][PORT] -- JoyOSRevampedv2.3 -- 7/4/2012[UPDATED]

I am proud to present the JoyOS Revamped Port. This port is a chinese rom that can be found at http://www.joyos.cn/. It is based on Decks Gingerbread 1.3 so it is stable.
** Based on JoyOS port presented by Mr_LJE so thanks to him!
** 3G is working straight from boot. No need to set APN (thanks to dumpydooby and mazdarider23 for their input on this)
** Device is not supported issue with Market has been resolved. All apps should be good to go straight from boot.
** Thanks to Deck for a great GB base to work on
** BlindnDumb for his porting guides that this was based on originally
** Shout out to JamieG71 for the input on baking a kernel and shout out to ropodope simply cuz he is a bad ass and deserves a shout out whenever possible!!

- build.prop tweaks for battery and speed. This thing moves fast!!
- Mason G - v0.14 sbc baked in already!! (thanks to atyoung for such a great kernel!)
- Video HWA enabled which fixes Netflix not working on previous port

- WiFi works as usual

****HOW TO INSTALL****
- Wipe all except sd card (cache, dalvik-cache, data, boot, system etc etc...)
- Flash zip
- Sign in to Google and you are done!

There are two versions of 2.3. One allows you to set a center clock which gives the iOS notification appearance. This one causes a FC when setting up an exchange email server. The other allows you to setup an exchange email, but does not have the center clock option. Choose your poison.

PLEASE FLASH GPS FIX ATTACHED FOR GPS ISSUES
To complete the entire look of iOS, download the iPhone Keyboard Emulator for free from the Play Store. You can also search Google for iTap Keyboard. It is the same as the iPhone, but better IMO. The iPhone KB emulator does have ads, but from my experience, it is just one per day which can be removed simply by clicking the clear button in the notification drop down.

Yes sir. Now that the main "bugs" are done with. Gonna get the cosmetics such as that rogue "s" in the drop down for notifications. Also gonna try to clean as much of the Chinese characters out, fix some of the .pngs such as the Market/Play Store. Should be good. Stick around

I can't download anything from the market I get an error. I already force close and clear data the market and nothing. I even rebooted and nothing :'(. And btw do you have the databoost.zip baked in?

That's weird. Market works for me. Did you wipe all? The data tweaks are baked in.

What error are you getting? I am able to download all apps from market and I am running the same build. Let me know. Appreciate the feedback. Did 3g work on boot at least?

It says "apps name" couldn't download due to an error. It doesn't say any number or anything .. I'm going to reflash again and this time I'm going to flash a cleaner. Zip

That is what I was aiming for. What else do you expect from a Deck 1.3 GB base with the Mason G kernel? I assume you were able to test Netflix and it worked for you this time right?

To be honest I havent even tried GPS. I was born and raised in my city so I pretty much know where everything is at and if I don't I pretend I do and eventually end up where I need to LOL. Since this is Deck based, I would assume the common GPS fix for AOSP GB or CM7 would work with this rom. I just downloaded the Google Maps app and it took 10 seconds from initial startup to update and locate me. It said accurate within 20 meters however the icon was right above where I am (since I live on the corner of an intersection) and was even pointing the way I was facing. I would say it works. If anything, make sure that you have GPS and wireless networks selected under settings and location. Remember, from boot it is different so you were asked this. I baked in the GApps used for Decks 1.3 so market can work. If you declined the consent for Google to use your location based on blah blah blah then it may be a problem. Just go to settings location and enable both. Then go to setting applications and clear data on Google Maps just for safe measure. When you reload maps, it should take roughly 15 seconds to load, update and pin point you. If not, like I said try one of the fixes available and let me know so I can update the OP and eventually bake it in. It works good for me so thats what I am going based on. I need feedback from my downloaders to tell me what is wrong so I can determine if it is user or my error.

I have to say this rom is fast as can be. GPS locked on instantly for me too. The only thing I can't find is how to add a folder. I must be blind..I can add pretty much everything but that. Anyway the rom itself is very solid and snappy so awesome job! Just not really into the whole iPhone look. I'm kinda anti-ipad/phone at the moment. They seem to appeal to the simple minded computer users for the easeability factor making them even more lazy and helpless...lol..kind of ironic that I can't find a folder option but I feel I've looked in every corner of this rom. When you click menu you can add widget wallpaper or theme and that's it. Please tell me I'm not blind

Appreciate the feedback. By default there is no shortcut to add a folder. You can long press on an app and drop it in the Utilities folder. You can also go to settings, others under Personal Manage, CM settings, Input and change the long press settings for the home or menu button. From there you can choose a custom setup and folder shortcut is an option. Then again I have rom toolbox and root explorer installed giving me these options.

Really like this one so far. Downgraded from a evo 3d that phone is crap for roms lol. My battery died in 4 hours with light use. Might be a different problem I have on my hands

Shouldn't this be in the Development areas or in the official thread?
I will say one thing about AOKP, I clean installed build 5 for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved the customization options compared to CM10. However, it seemed light years behind in terms of stability, speed and overall smoothness of the experience. Then as I was editing my navbar options to add like 7 icons, one of them deleted and I couldn't access the Navbar portion of the ROM options. It would keep force closing whenever I opened that settings area. Reboots and reflashes didn't help. So now I'm back to CM10 and appreciating the stability again.

Did you try an alternate kernel? I'm using the latest leankernel and I've been on the ROM only 24 hours give or take but haven't experienced a single FC on anything, bug with anything(Minus the low audio on video recording and a few minor graphical glitches), or a reboot. I tried the Tablet UI option and went to reboot and it got stuck on the boot animation, but after a battery pull booted fine with the Tablet UI. That was the only boot that I had issues with, the rest seem lightning fast compared to CM10.
Battery life on Release 5 is far superior than CM10 lately. I lost 6% overnight where with CM10 I usually lost 15+%.
I do have a sort of complaint tho. Altering the backlighting settings under Settings>Display>Automatic Backlight>Edit other levels it gives you a minimum of 20 under the screen option where I could have sworn CM10 was a minimum of 1. I'd prefer a lower # that way I could drop down the lighting severely in the dark to save my eyes and battery lol.
Granted I haven't been on it that long but this latest release seems just as buggy if not less than CM10 for me.
(I do want to add that I am a CM10 fan too... It's the ROM that I ALWAYS end up back on after giving other ones a shot. I'm thinking I'll stick with AOKP now tho)

I'm an admitted AOKP fanboy, but it is not as stable as CM10 yet. I've had a lot of random reboots - but typically only when I'm tweaking things. Under normal usage, it has behaved well. Gotta respect the unicorn.

For the auto brightness if you look one up from edit other levels it says Screen dim level which allows you to set minimum of 1.

I just tried to use nexflix threw my Samsung mhl adapter kept doing random reboots.. I'm running milestone 1..yesterday build 4 I was running Netflix was flickering on my tv screen. Please get this fixed.

BMC, if you're still watching this thread could you look into fixing the MMS issue? In particular one cannot send a picture without the quality being degraded horribly. I've had to switch back to GoSMS so I can send pics but I don't like all the services it runs.

How is build 3 running for everyone?

Anyone running it? Has it caught up to our 4.2 ROMs on here like Slim/Liquid/Carbon yet in terms of basic functionality? Build two had too many issues still.

Hey bmc, I noticed in your thread on rootz that in call volume adjustment was still listed as a bug.
I think that was fixed in cm10.1 around the time they switched to caf audio if you're trying to find the patch that fixed it.
I really want to try the auto hide navbar, just waiting for that volume fix.

funny thing is that we are using caf audio as well and still experience it, meaning that something else outside of the audio HAL seems to play a part as well. Still trying to track down what that part is and if any patch was missed for it. Also what I have done to compensate until it is fixed is I have increased the in call volume to be a reasonable level and usable. So although its not adjustable it's at a level that is decent enough for normal use.
