[Tests] MIUI v5 - Motorola Atrix 2

Hi there! It came out a MIUI v5 ROM! I put [Tests] in the title, because i can't install it yet.
Here is what i did:
Made a nandroid backup (Just in case, i didn't use it)
Flash the zip
Reboot
I didn't want to make a full wipe. If it works without doing it better, if not, well, bad luck. And no, it didn't work. After the moto logo, it freeze at a black screen.
So, i flashed JB again via RSDlite.

Thanks

Edit:
See like so much v5 tinker a bit, we can try, 4.0 and 4.1 can brush 4.1 4.0 BNM please change kernel, automatic brightness a little problem, cancel the automatic brightness.

I had a miui v4 before. from boot strapper I made a backup and wiped data and installed this. Ya great animations but sometimes the pop-up Windows won't go away. also even after changing the locale to English many of the user interface items was on Chinese. but the major issue for me was battery. 96 to 4 percent in 5 hours. should I have had installed it on a hktw 2.3.6 and then me865?

Nobody said that this is the official MIUI. If it is created by angeeks, it's not official.

Well its still the same miui 4 with some mods u urself can implement in official miui
Basically its still ICS
So better stick wid og miui and this has some non translatable Chinese bloatware

hey im new in the this section cuz this is my moms phone and she needs an upgrade
i didn't find some answers to my questions so i will ask them here
1.Cm 7.2 is bugless?
2.what is the best ClockworkMod based recovery for this phone?
3.what Rom could you suggest me ?(battery life is the most important thing)
Don't mess with your moms phone.
Stock rom is the best option for people who only use it as a phone (calls/texts/light internet surfing) so unless she wants to change a new theme everyday, game all day long in [insertdemandinggame] or need 70 apps at one time, you don't need any other OS on it other that stock
here are your answers
1) yes stable release of cm7.2 is bugless , nightly version may or may not have bugs.
2) best version of clockwork mod is 5.0.2.7, i recommend amonra
3)for battery life cm7 is good or you can check oxyen gingerbread(by popdog)

I recommend you use the Stock Rom which you are using right now!!
Root it.. uninstall all system aaps which your mom doesnt use!!
Its a smartphone so dont think of getting battery backup more than
1nhalf day.
Save battery by lowering screen brightness.
Keep WIFI / 3g / 2g / GPS.. OFF.. till you need them.

Returning to Stock

Ive had enough of running buggy, battery hungry roms and would like to return my Nexus S to stock. The last time I was on stock was 2.3.6 I believe. If I flash via CWM to the official 4.0.3 in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445570 will I then be able receive OTA updates, ie to 4.1.2? (obviously Ill be rooted again, but im not fussed)

Buggy? Battery hungry ? You were in what ROM? All custom ROMs at almost 100% bugs free(especially CM10 and CM10/AOKP based). Weird ...
Dont have the time to setup the computer for Fastboot, couldnt get it working with Win7 last time out either.

Tried all sorts, Oxygen, NSCollab, early ICS roms (awful), others i cant remember. Best combo i had was stock 2.3.6/7 with a Kernel i think. I found that invariably they become less stable the longer you have them installed. Of course if you change rom a lot you'll never notice.
I'm with you, running stock 4.1.2 since it came out, only with custom kernel for BLN, highbigmem and voodoo sound and don't regret it a bit. A lot of free time and no need to update all the time;P

How did you root and unlock your phone then? Only way to do it needs an actual working connection with fasboot/adb. Even the 1 click crap uses that.
I guess nothing stops you from flashing 4.0.3 then going the upgrade route, but I don't see that as a very efficient nor a clean way to do it.

It would be hard to call CM10 something related to stable (same for any CM10 base ROM). Even they don't call it that. That's why the nightly tag is for.

Managed to get ADB working on my old XP laptop, which i no longer have! Just tried to install it, and again the driver problem rears its ugly head. Just wont recognise the inf file! Like I said, dont really have the time, guess ill just have to flash to 4.0.3 and wait for the OTA Dont have the time to muck about trying to get the drivers working. Might give it one last bash with the SDK

You'll see a lot of people still have complaints regarding functions that get broken with each version, only to come back working after the next one. It's silly to assume CM team doesn't know **** about development and simply tag "nightly", "RC" and "stable" for the sake of it. Please don't bring up made up stability percentages into the lot.
You can glance at the nightly changelogs yourself to see NPEs getting corrected in relatively core apps nearly every week. Not just for crespo too, but regarding CM10 as a whole.
I'll give you that though, on a day to day basis, the rom is very usable. But good luck getting a 1000 hours uptime without the thing becoming sluggish.

2.3.6 VictoryRom -> ?

To use ICS roms you have to upgrade to ICS first.
As for roms, it's all personal opinion what is best. If HDMI/lapdock support isn't essential for you, I would recommend CM10.

Uhh..no CM10 is actually really stable. There are a couple really minor bugs left.. but it's Jelly Bean so it's smooth as butter (project butter) and is well worth the tiny bugs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869692
yeah, cm10 is very stable.. no random reboots or anything for me.. sure it has a few bugs, but nothing to stop you from using it as your daily driver. Actually what keeps making me go back to cm10 is that its so friggin smooth and ofcourse the little customisations you can do and themes..
For the OP, I dunno much about the GB roms, but id recommend both cm10 and and magicmod with performance and customisations in mind and that they are JB based
If you want full functionality, then all the ICS roms are good, just read thru the threads for the ROMs and devs description and screenshots and try the one according to need.. the latest one is numa and the first one is SCV7 which still is one of the best roms for our phone on ICS. If you ask me, you'll know which one to use only after youve flashed enough
Also remember to read the devs description of the ROM and how to flash properly, cause you need to use different recoveries for different ROMs. So better if you read up as much as you can. Do keep a backup of your stock ICS on ur sdcard, (i have like 3 now stock, cm10, numa) but you know how it goes, since youre already on a ROM..
Mostly youre gonna love your phone more after you get on ICS and flash one of the ICS and JB roms. Happy flashing !
EDIT: i missed it, but better if you post questions in the Q&A thread..
Thanks for the reply. I'll try CM10.
When installing ICS, will all I need to do is install .zip Blur_Version.55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US.zip? for ICS leak#1 or will I have to downgrade first?

ICS rom with 4GB user available internal memory !!

We all know that our atrix2 has 8 GB internal memory which by default is not user available. :banghead:
But this chinese(HKTW) leaked ics for ME865, when flashed onto our MB865, keeps 4GB as internal and avails 4GB for user usage !! ( Am assuming that many still might not be knowing about it)
Link to ME865 ICS-HKTW ----> www.4shared.com/archive/ApgMqNPs/ME865-ICS-HKTW.html
During installation u can change language to English and rom runs fine. (P.S.- Some users reported to have faced FCs but i never had any)
Next, if you are already bored of the ICS, then you may go a step ahead and flash the "Official" MIUI v4 ROM from the official miui website, which is for ME865. You get all the MIUI awesomeness, the rom is rock stable, amazing battery backup, no flaws at all !!
Link to Official MIUI v4 for ME865 ----> http://www.miui.com/extra.php?mod=download/rom&fid=199
So in the end, you get Official MIUI running and a bonus 4GB storage !!
I am running this rom as my default system since a month and have no issues at all.
Go give it a shot !!
Am just resharing what i have gathered from the forum.

I doubt it will work for att without any modifications (which is a little risky).. But I would recommend you to wait till all issues with the kexec kernel and our phone are solved. Then we can easily do that with a custom kernel..

CyanogenMod will be, by far, the most stable.

can you work on increasing the battery life of the 4.3 pac im running the new 1.0 kernel jbx but still the roms using up a lot of battery
underclocking and tweaking the governors seem to help a little but i think the kexec drawing a lot of power.
btw gr8 work on the rom integration of cm pa and aokp
saw ur github nice wrk.........:good:

i second tht opinion but pa seems to have less battery consumption and with the gapps included into the rom it seems to be quite stable.
but if you want to tweak around with your cpu cm should do the trick.
Agree

Me too. But i found that 4.3 pacman has less battery drain. The cm 4.3 is a real toaster. the devices heats up for no reason sometimes. Ravi bhai kabhi milo to sahi. Personally dhanyavad karna chahenge aapko currently on pacman 4.3 . Also curious what MIUI v6 might bring....!!
feedback!
hey, so I just noticed a few things, any fixes?
- the lock screen doesnt work (doesnt show up), even after setting up a pin or pattern, locking the phone via power button doesnt work, and its set to immediately lock as well. any idea?
- got the gapps for 4.3 installed..but it didnt come with a play store.. so i figure i install my own.. tried multiple versions just in case, even the latest for 4.3 and it just says no connection, I am connected to wifi and there is internet via firefox and gmail recieves emails as well, the stock browser just fc's but dont matter. any idea?

Play store and all?? Hmm.. Maybe I need to do a bigger system folder, possible reason for the features being left out? Gonna try on system 4, nd See if that helps.

Giving a bigger system partition made everything work.. But now continuous system ui has stopped working :/ really??

Maybe a bad download and/or a bad flash.(?) I haven't had any of the issues you're reporting, and haven't seen others reporting the same so it is likely something on your end. Just redownload and reflash and see if that helps.

kk got the latest nightly..works like a charm! perfect build now!
thanks
Lastess nigthly builds
Hi, the pac rom is very stable and fast, i use the nightly 23.
But, i have a bug to repport wen usb headset is connected, and recive or do a call if you don't hang before the other person hangs the phone is blocked and restart a little secs after.
Second with the lastes builds 26, 25 or 24 the wifi is not working. I test restarting, with wifical.sh, a fresh install (4.0.4 or 4.1.2) motorola roms flashed with rsd, i tried to install the 23 over 26 rom and wifi didin't start.
