AOKP 4.2 mr1 03/05 build - hardware keys assignment and google now? - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

This may be a stupid question. I just installed the AOKP 4.2 build 5.
I am wondering how to assign the hardware keys?
I want to use long press home to do voice search, recent button as menu key, and long press recent as recent apps.
Also I miss having swipe up in lock screen to access google now. is there any way to set it?
It looks like I have to enable navigation bar in order to have quick access to google now.
Please help.

[Q] Xylon ROM [4.2.2] HTC One XL Nav Buttons wrong association?

Hi, obviously I'm new to posting on the forum but I've been reading this forum for many months, just S-Off'd my One XL earlier today and installed the unofficial Xylon 2.3.3 A6 Experimental Build 3
This is an incredible ROM with one gripe... I can't find a way to change the Navigation Bar settings properly. Ideally I'd have the back button be 'back', the home take me to the home screen and the recent apps button bring up the menu with one press and recent apps for a long press. This is oddly not the case, holding the home button brings up the recent apps instead and holding the recent apps button yields nothing and I've searched the forums, read through the official thread, can't find a way to change this. I've gone into Xylon Tools in Settings and the only nav bar options only change the optional on-screen Nexus nav bar which I obviously don't want since I've already got capacitive buttons for that.
Other than this one problem, this ROM is golden from what I can tell.
TL;DR - how do I change the nav bar buttons on the Xylon ROM, only

Call up keyboard any time?

Hello, I remember that in the old day (with Gingerbread 2.3.X), when you want to launch the keyboard, you can hold the menu key anytime. However, unfortunately, I don't know why I can no longer use the same method to call up the keyboard with newer Jellybean 4.1.X devices. Therefore, I would like to know that if there is a way that I could do the same thing. If not, is there a trick or a mod I can use to fix it? Thanks.
I am using Note 2 (international N7100) with Omega ROM.
To be able to open it anywhere, you go into the settings for the keyboard and check the box for 'permanent notification'. It will then keep an entry in the notifications which you can tap to bring up the keyboard at any point. Or may be you can try Hacker's Keyboard (search in Google Play). Checking its Guide, there's in fact a section suggesting such a feature: You can configure the gesture used for this in the keyboard's "Gesture and key actions" settings menu. If the swipe action is too hard to trigger, try binding the "close keyboard" action to the "Volume down" hardware key. This won't interfere with normal use of the volume button while the keyboard is closed. Though this applies to "close": If there are gestures you can configure, it might as well be able to have one for "open". The FAQ may reveal some more clues.

[Completed] [Q] How to force Overflow Menu Button

Device: Nokia XL
Android Version: 4.1.2
Current ROM: [miniROM Kitkat Wannabe
My device has only 1 hardware button (back button)
Along with Xposed Framework and Xposed Additions, I managed to use Home and Recents with that only key.
But still can't manage to get the Menu Key function.
On other ROMs, when I enable Navigation Bar, I get Overflow Menu Button automatically, but in this ROM, I didn't get it... Also this ROM is better than others
I've tried the following things:
1. UDN [not satisfied, because it's tricky and takes alot time to operate(in my opinion)]
2. GravityBox (as I said, Navigation bar doesn't make Overflow Menu Button, neither that Miscellaneous Tweaks >> Force overflow menu button >> Force enable worked
So, I just want to know how I can get Overflow Menu Button on my ROM?
I'm a Newbie, I don't understand those difficult steps
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The best palce to ask this question is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-x/help They are the experts on your device.

[Completed] Any way to enable menu button inside of apps without enabling navbar? [Oneplus 2]

So my problem is that:
Because the Oneplus 2 has hardware buttons apps don't show menu buttons in them
If you have hardware buttons Titanium Backup doesn't have any other way of entering the menu in it except to bind the menu function to some HW button
I'm on Nougat so my recents long press is occupied by enabling split screen
And because I'm on LineageOS I cannot bind anything to long pressing the back button, which would be optimal for enabling the menu. I could make the home long press be the menu button, but that would feel quite unnatural and also there's some slight problems with the FP reader so I don't want to bind anything to the long press.
Also because I'm on Nougat, Xposed isn't an option as there's no Nougat version available
So to be able to access the menu in Titanium Backup I would either need to be able to enable the menu buttons in apps without having the navbar, or I would need to be able to bind something to long pressing the back button. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome to xda-assist,
I'm a op2 user too :good: but I actually prefer the Navbar by far for all the possibilities of customization, so I can't tell you more than what you already described as the one working way which feels to "unnatural" for you..
As our part here on xda is to redirect you to the most suitable thread for your question I would recommend you to visit the op2 help thread here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/help/qa-noob-friendly-qa-help-thread-t3146584/page79
and maybe the lineageOS thread of seraph08 as the basic functions of
official
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/rom-official-cyanogenmod-14-1-t3500985/page90
&
unofficial
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-x-cyanogenmod-13-oneplus-2-t3292436/page1379
are the same, and other users of lineageOS may have some ideas..
Good luck
