[Q] Real Racing 3 on Desire S? - HTC Desire S

Hi everyone. I'm a noob.
I was wondering if it was possible to make my HTC Desire S running PACman v20.0.1 ROM able to run Real Racing 3. It doesn't appear in the play store and online it says incompatible. Please reply
Thanks.

I would normally tell you to use market unlocker app, but it doesn't work anymore, so the only thing left would be warez try looking on the net for an apk... I'm playing rr3 on my DS overclocked to 1.7ghz but it's still leggy. Laggy but playable

lower the oc to 1k-1.2k, high oc is known to cause lag in some games.

Real Racing 3 was available on 28th February. I downloaded it, installed, noticed that it was laggy on my ROM. I've changed the ROM and it wasn't available. Since then I've tried some other ROMs and also incompatible. Installed with the .apk file and I'm now playing it(although it's lagging, especially after hacking and buying all cars )

Reaper V4.0 is probably the most stable rom available. Gaming performance proves to be much better on this rom, so you might want to give it a try.

Maybe the game performance would be great on it, but it's on GB. I have flashed the Desire XS and the performance of Real Racing 3 is even better, than on CM and PACman with overclocked CPU. But thanks anyway for your advice!

Your call. Something to remember is that many things affect gaming performance including governors and I/O schedulers. Also, you might want to try using V6 Supercharger script (link is in my sig) and GameBooster 2
Haven't got a chance a chance to try GameBooster 2 yet but judging from the responses in the play store, it seems to work well.

to many kernals

hey guys i just need a little bit help here.
im new to the sensation
and i am running Bulletproof 2.2.1
and its very slow, and i even get a ****ty score on quadrant
and i see there are several kernals out there and i wanted to know witch ones are compatible with sense 3.5 bulletproof
and witch one is the best one. by best i mean faster overclocked
thanks in advance
You can try Faux or Bricked, both are great.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Faux 0.2.3 is out soon with a whole host of new features, I've found that I can't get Faux 1.89Ghz version to work (boot loops) but it may work for you. Due to this I use Bricked kernel and then I can overclock (if I want to) up to 1.72Ghz which seems to be the max for my chip!
Here's a really good kernel 2.6.35.14-Bricked-v 1.2-gpuoc 320-ondmnd [email protected] #6 this is what I use and It's awesome so far I've been useing this kernel for three days and It's lighting fast
I'm on BP also and while quadrant is low with stock, I've found stock kernel to be smooth and stable. Today I did flash bricked 1.4, and while my CF scores and quadrant went up significanty, I had lag on homescreens and games like asphalt 6 hd. I have no idea what the problem was. It could have been my Rom, or the way I flashed bricked kernel because I have read so many positives with using bricked.
I went back to stock kernel and all is smooth again, but with low benchmarking scores....
So I guess I'm saying take benchmark scores with a grain of salt. Although it would be nice to have my cake and it too.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk
whats you quadrant score? i flashed that kernal but i had problems with 3D and he said he fixed it on the latest version 1.4. and when i used setcpu my phone kept rebooting
I don't remember my quadrant score, but CF bench score was really high with bricked 1.4, above GS2.
Now back to stock kernel my CF bench is back to around 5000. Just under the atrix scores.
(But with stock I have no issues with with gameloft games, no lag in asphalt 6 hd.)
I will probably try again in the near future as it could have been user error on my part.

talking about games i havent be able to play them on any rom. some says its not supported and somes dont have the 3d graphics on them
Do the current kernels all have these problems? I would like to know this before I get this phone. And I noticed someone OC'd to 1.8GHz, is this to fix lag or just for fun? Such OC would lead me to question the Sensation's speed quite a bit. Sorry for hijacking the thread, didn't want to make a new one.

I am running CM7 SelfKang9, with Faux's AOSP 0.2 Kenrnel (1.78ghz OC) and undervolt (Thermal Patch). Everything is smooth as butter and battery life is beyond excellent (getting avg 6mA idle). If you're interested in benchmarks, I have gotten as high as a 6499 AnTuTu score, and a 7424 in CF bench. It does run fine at its rated speed of 1.5ghz, I'm just always gunning for that extra speed.
Edit: For Comparison, my friend has an Atrix, using CM 7.1 and Faux with a 1.3 ghz OC, and he was getting slightly slower benches (6000 AnTuTu). Although both phones run great.
I'm using pyramid3d 8.0.1 along with the bricked 1.2 kernel.
Runs perfect. No lags, and no other problems, although quadrant scores are really low. Quadrant really means nothing IMO.

Sense has a nice bug from HTC that affects Quad & other benches negatively, this can be fixed by using AOSP/CM/MIUI, I noticed this on my previous phones. I think HTC has some lingering debugging enabled in Sense.

Thanks for clearing things up for me, I was worried that the phone had speed issues and the OC was to fix that, now I'm not worried with that anymore. Hopefully I order mines next week, but I plan on undervolting & underclocking, just as I did on my MT4G. Although you benches have restored my confidence in the phone.

Grand Theft Auto III now available in Android Market (may support our device).

As announced earlier,Rockstar Games has released GTA III in the Android Market today. Available now for $4.99, it works on select Android devices, mainly those running on NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, although company is promising a TI OMAP supported version soon, which will work on devices like Galaxy Nexus.
Games Features via Market Description:
Visually stunning updated graphics, character and vehicle models
HD quality resolution
Gameplay optimized for touch screen devices
Custom controls for the mobile platform
Countless hours of gameplay
Gamepad Support for select USB controllers
since,gt-i9003 uses T1 OMAP chipset,so i believe it will work on our device.
Tried to install the apk today, and got "There is a problem parsing the package." message.
not sure if its because of the chip or because i'm still running stock froyo that came with the phone "FROYO.JPKC2" (2.2.1) (arabic version).
If there is anyone who tried the game with gingerbread or a custom rom, please share if its working, and if it requires chainfire, etc,
thanks guys

does droid 3 use the nvidia chip? if not, you and the others that are testing the version of the game intended for nvidia are seeing that you should wait for the omap version, as OP stated
New version (1.1) supports PowerVR and works in our device (no FC after intro), but the game is slow, especially when you're driving a car. I have tried reducing textures and quality on chainfire, but doesn't improve too much.
I am on KPQ and CF-root without OC, you can try with UC OC, and will post here the results.

i playing like xplay enjoy guys
My download stopped about halfway through, and when i opened it again, surprise surprise, it worked!! with no sound tho :S
the graphix are pretty smooth and the controls are very responsive, however the FPS drops a little with sharp turns or quick view changes, still quite playable.
I'm on stock froyo without chainfire 3D or any custom kernals.
Update: The download was corrupted as the memory card became full and save games are corrupted. Perhaps the sound files were never downloaded in the first place.
Without audio it works like a charm..

The best ROM varies - some people say this ROM, some say that ROM. Opinions are like ar$eh0les, everybody has one.
The best bet is to just try them out yourself, but you need to remember that modern games are being optimised for quad-core phones, so the DS is always likely to struggle with them.
Reaper or CM7 in my opinion

Nice Is there any lags? did you test some games? I'll maybe flash that rom.
try the PACman ROM. you can overclock it up to 1,8GHz.
but 1,4GHz is possible without trouble for the Desire S.

PACman has bad performance in games, Im trying DS rom for HD gaming it looks nice
Use CyanogenMods, those are ultrafast.

Game lags corrected. (Atleast have stopped for me)

So yesterday i was researching about gamelags on STOCK ICS.
I found out this solution somewhere.
Initially i did not flash ardatdat's kernel
but
after doing this plus flashing ardatdats kernal lags have like vanished.
So just do this thing
1.Go to settings---> developer options and check 'Force GPU Rendering' and restart your phone.
2. Use Ardatdats kernel v4.2 beta 6 *HIGHLY Recommended*
Games tried :
1. Temple Run Brave (15 minutes of play..No lag)
2. World Cricket Championship (10 over game..no lag)
3. Farming Simulator
4. Plants vs. Zombies
5. Stick Cricket
6. Stick Tennis
7. Temple Run 2
8. Race, Stunt, Fight 2
9. Drag Racing 3D
10. Fruit Ninja
Hope it helps

+1 for this. Didn't try games, but it's good to have this option always set to on. Increases overall performance.
I tried gaming on stock ICS.
Did try unofficial JB on our phone. But then vibration problems.
Actually some nexus version had an ICS lag in scrolling and gaming.
So someone posted it as an answer.
I tried it for gamelags of our device and it worked.
(Obviously the nexus solution did not have include the ardatdats kernel part )
@adam sir: please help us with the vibration problem in Pacrom

On ardatdat kernel use setcpu app to set both the cpu freq's to max(equivalent to performance governor). Then try a game...eg temple run...no lags.
But remember when u select performance then top level of clock will work and hence battery backup goes down.
@deep: buddy its my pleasure if i would suggest or make u understand the thing and become part of ur few moments.

Well if you know how to use SetCpu go ahead it will completely resolve the issue. (Never tried as i am not comfortable..but our senior members do recommend using it )
But if youre still not comfortable with the stutters we have to live with it till official JB arrives (maybe..on samsungs mercy :'( ) :sigh:
Atleast the frequency of the lags seems to go less.
My games even stuttered with PacRom :'( (stick cricket did )
