NAND Problem. please look - HTC Pico (Explorer)

Ok People. I think i have damaged my htc pico NAND thingy. I have followed the procedure for installing ROMS( doing factory reset wipe cache format etc ) but cant pass the HTC Logo on most ROMS. only AteeqRom is working but when it starts and i pull the screenlock it is giving me alot of force crashes even i cant get into menu. the problem is I cant get into menu. i have seen the recovering from NAND damaged procedure by cute_prince . but the problem is it is not passing the lookscreen. please help me i dont want to lose my phone at this stage. any help will be appreciated. Thanks alot.

Did you overclock your Explorer-thingy?
I mean, over-clocking the CPU, GPU, etc.could have caused the NAND-frying, if you had overclocked them. If you haven't overclocked, then, there is no reason to be worried of.(except for a hard-brick, though.)
Since you told that you followed the NAND recovery procedure, nothing should have happened to your NAND if it wasn't damaged in the first place. But, if it wasnt properly, it would have caused damage.
Anyways, try flashing new recovery, and then, superwipe by akya22, and then, whatever ROM you want to flash.:good:

did everything.
most of the rom is not even starting. i have managed to pass the lockscreen on ateeq rom only ateeq rom is working. i did everything flash recovery and all those reset thingys. but i am getting alot of force crashes and very very low 4mb internal storage. nothing is working correctly. i have not overclocked my cpu. i just flashed CM9 B14 and after that nothing was fine before. i dont understand the cute_prince technique of recovering from nand. i am noob. so help here.

If I paste my code in cmd it doesn't recognize the command. I downloaded adb ,extracted it and then use shell to enter commands one by one and I connected the phone and mounted the sysytem and the commands were executed without any problem except for "su" which says "not found". Other commands seem to work and the last three commands each of the says "100% completed" in the shell. So there doesn't seem to be a problem in the execution of these commands but su doesn't work though. That can be the problem. But I have windows 8 and when I pasted the code in cmd admin , it doesn't recognize so I can't do it that way

Hi
I'm Trying to install it and it can't boot.
These are the steps that I have done:
* from ICS V28D (for p920) clean installation, enter into recovery TWRP and perform Factory Reset. Wiped cache and dalvik-cache too.
* flashed the frist file.
* flashed the preinstalled programs and the shell (third link)
* Reboot.
Appears a grey LG Logo and then, "rainbow" like CM10. Then turns black, and phone turns off.
I have booted into fastboot mode and installed TWRP recovery (it disapears) and flashed the first zip one more time. The problem persists.
I think that the main problem could be the initial ICS version. You says than the initial version is ICS for SU760 and the mine is for P920. someone knows if that ICS versions have a diferent partition schema? could it be the problem?
Thanks in advance and great job! I was trying to do but I wasn't be able to compile it successfully.
Nest.
That's exactly the problem the quantal flash requires more than 1.2GB of userdata storage to flash. V28B has 1GB of userdata storage allocated whereas SU760 has 2GB.

In thread is mentioned that you must be on su760 ics or you have to make a second partition on external ad card with atleast 2gig then flash the p920 with the modified boot.img
The problem is that the ubuntu quantal image needs extracted about 1.5 gig and the gb and p920 ics partition table has only 1 gig(su760 partition table got 2gig)

cm10 roms don't flash. Status 7 error

I would like to explain my problem here. Almost two weeks ago I guess I flashed sense 4 build 7 by derefas and I guess i had a nand burn. No rom flashed at that time like cm10 roms. cm9 rom flashed but there were a lot of FC's at startup so I couldn't use them. Xenon rom and Ateeq rom only worked for me at that time but internal memory was very large and there was only 40 mb free space. Then I followed this guide by cute_prince
Ok guys, here I am posting NAND Recovery Procedure:
Download the following attachment.. Rename flash_erase.txt to flash_erase ( Its actually a binary file )
Copy this file to /system/xbin directory using Root Explorer. Set permission as 755
Make sure Root Access is enabled for both Apps and ADB in Developer settings
Connect phone to PC .. Now open a terminal ( I am using Ubuntu ) and type the following:
Code:
adb shell
su
cd /system/xbin
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd2 0 0
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd4 0 0
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd5 0 0
Note: when you execute above command you may get an IO error.. Its OK, dont get panic
Now disconnect phone from PC.. Remove battery and reinsert it ..
Goto recovery and:
format /boot
format /system
wipe data / factory reset
Now install your favourite ROM
Once the ROM is booted, goto storage settings.. Everything should be fine now and you should get around 140MB free depending on your ROM
and then then the less internal memory problem at boot and fc's in cm9 rom, these problems were solved but the problem that cm10 roms don't flash and error appears like this one
"symlinks failed
file at bla bla bla couldn't be flashed
status 7"
This problem still persists while installing any jelly bean rom not for ics and sense roms flash but they simply bootloop. At htc beats audio screen they don't go any further.
please help me. I am stuck with this problem now for weeks now. Someone please end my misery.:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Possible method
Steps that I would recommend:
1. Remove the sd-ext, and format the SD-card.
1.5: Create a new sd-ext with an ext4 partition using any partition manager apps.
2. Get a superwipe.zip, by akya22, and get it onto your Sd card by any means available.
3. Redownload Beta #6, super-stripped gapps, and get them on your sd card.
4. Insert SD card in your phone.
5. Go to fastboot and flash a new recovery, twrp 2.4 , preferably, because it's official.
6. Reboot your phone using fastboot reboot command.
7. Go to recovery, and flash superwipe.zip.
8. Go to Wipe section, and wipe Cache, Dalvik cache, for security.
9. Do a factory reset once more, for security.
10. Flash CM10 first, and check if it gets flashed correctly.
11. Flash Gapps.
12. Reboot.
Don't think your NAND is burnt because less than 50 percent of memory is available in your device, after flashing CM10. It is normal.
If all these steps get executed correctly, then...
1. Install Solid Explorer on your device. It is the best app for adding scripts.
2. Get an int2ext+ or int2ext (recommended)(i am using beta #6 with int2ext) script by croniccorey.
3. Extract the script to the root of your SD Card. Its name would be "40int2ext", and can be found in the /system/etc/init.d/ folder of the zip file.
4. Open the ROM's zip file in one pane.
5. Browse to /system/etc/init.d . There will already be two files present.
6. Drag and drop the 40int2ext into this folder, from the other pane.
7. Now, if you see that there are 3 files in this folder, the script has been added.
8. Reboot into recovery and flash this ROM.
P.S.: Did you follow the NAND recovery procedure correctly?

I have a backup but the Note not start. How can I restore it by Odin/Pc?
EDIT: I have efs backups format .tar.gz Can I flash this on Odin?
Must odin back to original ICS rom to work
Assuming you have CWM installed on device and have androidsdk store on computer C: drive
device must be rooted
1..Plug Device to Computer.. Reboot Device in CWM recovery/ mount storage/ mount system
2 on computer Shift+Ctrl +right click to open command window
command window type
cd c:/androidsdk/tools
adb shell
su
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 ( skip to next step if fail)
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
this will create a generic EFS files on device
when you reboot you will see your screen with a yellow text..now time to get rid of it
root explorer/efs and delete factorymode(OFF) and replace with factorymode(ON)
reboot in recovery wipedata factory reset...done
factorymode
Now you can back up your efs.tar(for 8000 user only)
Reboot and everthing should be back to normal

How i made my 8000 work again...
Hello everyone,
i hope i canhelp. I also installed 5.0 Collective and everything worked....until the first reboot. It did not start again so i installed ICS from samfirmware and had that efs-problem and yellow text. (using TWRP 2.4.4)
I first rooted the device installed busybox (make sure to open and let install busybox)
i also installed Android Terminal (both, busybox and android from google play)
i had an efs-backup ((efs-18Marxxx.tar.gz) wich i extracted once on device then copied it to pc and extracted it again with 7zip.
So finally i had the folder again, i copied backto device extSdCard.
i opened android terminal and followed BaDas Steps (in collective thread...dont remember the post number just search pls.)
I started es file explorer gave it root in settings and copied the efs folder to / (root)
i set the rights for efs same as folder factory and renamed the file 000000000.something inside efs folder to Aaa000000000.something.
i am not sure if the last step is needed, but lately my device worksjust fine.
pls excuse any mistakes in text, if u have questions just shoot, good luck and dont worry as long as u can get into flashmode ur device can be fixed. peace
Robert

Will this method work to restore a Galaxy S3's efs files with the proper 4.0.4 image? Stuck in Factory mode and the efs folder is empty.
n8000 getting ready for v6 to flash...
hello,
will flash the collective v6 by badab!ng now, will report hopefully within the next hour.
Robert
...it works just fine with me, even after reboot..
I can confirm Collective Edition v6 Dark Side works on N8000, no more efs issus

Dear Sir,
I think my EFS is corrupted cuz when i go to service mode, i get something which reads SPEECHver: FR FR FR when I bought my phone in the usa from tomobile. Cannot read sim card. Its a note2, i don't even know how to view or where to view my efs but i am assuming it is efs corruption, imei shows up everything looks ok except not recognizing the sim. Restored and everything, will this bring me back to original efs if i install the original factory rom?
Actually how do i view my efs details cuz right now i cannot use my phone everything else looks fine except cannot read sim. Will your method work with on a tmobile t889?
Thanks.
I am having the same efs issue
HI,
I am having the same efs issue when doing a factory wipe. My Tmobile Galaxy Note 2 is stuck in a bootloop and I have flashed the current Samsung firmware from their firmware site and it changed nothing. After I flashed it and the bootloop started I booted into the stock recovery and did a factory reset. That is when I got "E: Failed to mount /efs (invalid argument). I think one problem is I am a noob, the other is I didn't get CWM installed on my phone prior to all this. I do believe it all stimmed from me downloading and running Swapper on my phone. Everything seemed fine with it until I ran that and rebooted. To make matters worse, I failed (again noob here) to back up anything. Is there any hope for my Note 2?
You do know that this is the Note 10.1 forum don't you?
What did you flash?
thanks god I see your solution but...if I didn't install CWM...and android sdk...is there any other way to save my phone? THANKS!!

Dunno if CWM is necessary, but Android SDK is. Besides, It is going to help you to diagnose and repair many other problems.

[TUT] Burnt Nand? Let's Fix it.

Okay, this process is basically of cute_prince. I'm just telling you guys how to make it work properly. I DONT OWN IT.
First of all things you'll need.
1. Download the attached file.
2. ADB files.
2. TWRP recovery 2.4.X.X
3. Youre phone.
That's it.
Step 1. rename the downloaded file from flash_erase.txt to flash_erase.
Step 2. Put it in sd-card
step 3. go to twrp recovery.
step 4. mount system and sdcard
step 5. go to advance and then file manager.
step 6. locate the flash_erase file. copy it.
step 6. on the main root there'll be a folder 'system', go in. Then go into xbin and paste it there.
step 7. Again navigate to system\xbin and select flash_erase and set permission to 755. there will be a tab of CMOD 755 or somthing like that.
step 8. now go back to the main recovery menu and keep the system mounted.
step 9. connect ur phone to your PC.
step 10. open command prompt and navigate to the folder where you ADB files are placed from command prompt..
step 11. now copy this as it is and paste it.
adb shell
su
cd /system/xbin
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd4 0 0
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd2 0 0
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd3 0 0
./flash_erase -N /dev/mtd/mtd5 0 0
step 12. after the first three mtds gets cleaned i-e you'll see 100% mark three times, then press enter. there you'll see the fourth mtd getting erased.
after that type 'exit' and remove the cable.
step 13. now go to wipe and wipe in sequence
1. cache
2. dalvic
3. system
4. sd-ext
5. android secure.
step 14. flash your rom
