You need to match it to your firmware/radio as well

well the problem is that the phone is not booting up...
but i figured out that HTC__J15 is belong to X.XX.404.x and this is an arabic rom.
but still not sure.

Please make sure you are familiar with the flashing process by reading relevant guids before you do this

Hi,
His bootloader says 1.29,which would imply a 3.33 firmware
He is s-on,so,it is unlikely to work.
Any idea on where to find a 3.33 version?

Hi,
You are s-on.
You cannot change the firmware or radio.
You can only use the correct RUU.
And your phone must be "Locked" to do this.
What does it say in bootloader?
Locked or Unlocked?

have same problem
i have the same problem but i formated all things on the phone so there is no folders no files nothing is there

[Q] XE bootloop after installing RUU, cannot downgrade or unlock bootloader or S-OFF

Hello!
This is a little complicated. I have an XE and I wanted to upgrade from 2.3 (HBOOT 1.18). I tried to S-OFF first with revolutionary, but it didn't work (not even with tacoroot). Then I wanted to unlock the bootloader with the HTCDev method, I have the Unlock_code, uploaded it with fastboot and then selected yes. The phone reboots but it's still LOCKED. I repeated a few times, but no success.
I thought, OK the stock ROM by HTC is enough. I installed 4.0 with the newest RUU (HBOOT 1.29). This is where the bad things started. The installer worked well, but I couldn't start my phone anymore. It is stucked in bootloop. I tried to downgrade (with RUU and flashing zip with fastboot), no success.
So: S-ON, locked bootloader, bootloop... what could I do? Oh and when I plug in the USB cable, the phone turns on by itself.
Please help! Thank you!
from fastboot post the output from this command

You need to be s-off for this.
So first get s-off and try. Alternatively flash a sense based rom with stock kernel to get you device working

I told you it's not booting up. Just hTc boot logo comes and then it restarts itself, unable to go to recovery even, i can do nothing than entering fastboot. How can i get s-off when i cannot boot it up to use adb .. huh. and hTc's official RUUs are not working. Problem is- PAC ROM erased system while installing. I'm just stuck with this ****ing device
Please remember when asking for help to always be polite and remain calm. This will help you get a better reply and support down the road.
I'd like you to reflash your recovery from fastboot and then try entering recovery. If it works just flash a sense based rom with stock kernel and you'll be fine.
Any future questions regarding your device or problem need to be posted here

There's no RUU for the middle eastern variant.

I'm using HTC one xl running android v4.0 sense 4, rooted, bootloader locked, s-off and I want to know if i can continue using ruu to update it without breaking my phone or should I do something first before using ruu. My super cid is 11111111
Again I want to know if ruu can break my phone if it doesn't match with software number
