Custom binary count 6 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have been having trouble with my gs3 after I rooted it the GPS was not working after flashing jellybeans 12. I decided to flash back to stock and the when I got back to stock I clicked on maps and a msg came up saying select Google location services. I did that when I signed to all the google services. I don't know what the custom binary count means and what does it to? Also when I try to flask aokp roms the setup wizard canceled msg pops up... does that have something to do?

It is a counter for how many times you have flashed non stock software.

If I ever have to send the phone back to Verizon can check it the phone has been rooted, unlocked?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

Yes they can. That is why you use Triangle Away to reset the counter. Either buy it on the Play Store, or find it in the forums.

Question About the [ROM][MTD][ICS 4.0.4] AOKP Milestone 6, build 3 (Unofficial by Tea

I put the rom on it today When i get a message or upcoming call the phone doesn't light up. Is there a way to fix that?
The screen should come on for phone calls, messages the screen does not come on. Are you sure it doesn't come on for calls?

Yes i am sure..
Gr and reflash if that doesn't fix it , it could be a bad download.

I tried that already..
There is an AOKP Q&A thread that may help if you have further questions about this ROM. It's a bit long, but "search" works pretty well on a thread.
when I attempt to flash this and get to the installation phase it freezes up ...any ideas?

[Q] [REQ/IDEA] Aroma-based bloat remover.

So I have this idea but the problem is I have no idea how to go about making it happen. But it's a pretty simple idea and I think some of us would like it. So what this idea is....
You would have an Aroma-based script which allows you to select the bloat you wish to remove from a freshly installed stock rom. We have plenty of list around that shows what bloat is safe to remove. Now I know what most of you are going to say... we already have a ton of market apps which remove bloat. But I don't want to install an app to remove other apps... a simple script that I could keep on my SDCard and run after the install to nuke these bloat apps before even booting would be a great alternative.
Anyhow, any thoughts on this?

It says right in the title VZW and I've used it myself. Why do you think it doesn't work on ours?

I've tried it with every recovery and all the apps are still installed and functioning.

That's strange, it worked perfect for me on the latest jb leak.

The flash counter reset. It's a flashable zip in the development section.

You can also get triangle away app from the play store.

That is true But it says it does not list SGH-I727 as one of the phone it will fix.
It'll probably fix it. It worked on my i957 and that isn't list either. There is a thread for triangle away. Check it out and see if any i727's have been tried.

how did you increase your counter? there are no current roms that would do this unless you used k0anes old modded stock tar rom.
we dont have the yellow triangle at boot if you did trip the counter.
there is a yellow triangle when first entering into dl mode(odin mode), but its just a warning about flashing not a trip indicator.
"triangle away" will not work for our phones, dont do it.
theres a link in the 1stop sticky to reset the counter, its easy, just flash it in recovery.
heres the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575712
I don't understand why threads continue to go on when the answer was given in the first response. Crazy said exactly what to do. So do it.

Stuck in Roaming after Flashing ROM

I recently flashed both CM 10 and AOKP but my phone is stuck in roaming, i've already tried taking out the SIM card and all the other recommendations on the forum related to this problem but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can remain on a custom ROM and not have to go back to stock to correct this error?
There are too many posts that have this exact problem and there answers.
Use xda search

I've already tried all of the recommendations from other posts, I flashed back and followed the instructions but still was stuck in roaming after flashing. Then I tried flashing without wiping and that didn't work either so new I'm back to stock without root which works fine. I really want to go back to cm or aokp but can't figure out this roaming problem.

[Q] So about this cyangenmod..

I'm trying to root my s3 and the goal is in the end to put cm on it. I'm bummed the installer doesn't work for our phone, but is there a good guide on here or elsewhere with the files I'll end and a how to?
Thanks in advance ( FYI, I've flashed and rooted multiple times before just never cm)
If you stop by Google and go to CyanogenMod's page, find the phone in the devices section. There are device specific guides there. If you want to try something else, go to the original development section, find the CyanogenMod ROM and follow the directions there.

I've found the site but I'm not too familiar with some of the steps needed. I've re rooted my device, I know now I need to unlock my bootloader. There used to be an app on the play store for this, is still there and whats the name of it does anyone know?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Never used an app but using an automated system like that without knowing how to do it the real way ends up crippling you for the long road of wonderful Android. Here is a link to a sticky that has your info:

Ok so I managed to unlock the bootloader and now I'm on the next steps..but it mentions something about adb. I've never messed around with it..

Read the instructions here once rooted/unlocked
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405425
Yeah, those didn't really help me...if I gave the file on my sd card should I be able to flash it from there with rom manager or goo manager?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
If you're rooted, and unlocked, do you have your nandroid backup set up with custom recovery? From there just use Goo Manager to boot into recovery, and then wipe your cache and then flash your ROM and appropriate Gapps pack. Process was fairly simple on my SIII using TWRP. Make sure you look up the appropriate Gapps zip before starting or you will wind up with key features inoperable and will have to reboot and load it onto your phone before finishing setup.
You'll like CM 10.1.x on the SIII, it runs very smoothly.
Nothing in the post I linked mentions Rom manager. The instructions work if followed.
Don't forget to do this either. Just in case. I've never had to restore, but i still have A & B covered

Not necessarily. I think I flashed my SIII with about 85%. Then again, I did most of the steps with it plugged into the charger EXCEPT for flashing the rom itself. It took about four or five minutes tops.
Has anyone tried both cm and slimbean? I'm thinking of trying slimbean first bc I have usee cm in the past but I keep reading slimbean is stable and gives great battery.
