So I have this idea but the problem is I have no idea how to go about making it happen. But it's a pretty simple idea and I think some of us would like it. So what this idea is....
You would have an Aroma-based script which allows you to select the bloat you wish to remove from a freshly installed stock rom. We have plenty of list around that shows what bloat is safe to remove. Now I know what most of you are going to say... we already have a ton of market apps which remove bloat. But I don't want to install an app to remove other apps... a simple script that I could keep on my SDCard and run after the install to nuke these bloat apps before even booting would be a great alternative.
Anyhow, any thoughts on this?

It says right in the title VZW and I've used it myself. Why do you think it doesn't work on ours?

I've tried it with every recovery and all the apps are still installed and functioning.

That's strange, it worked perfect for me on the latest jb leak.

I was getting some force close when trying to read a pm in tapatalk..so I uninstalled tapatalk & xda..then there was an update for titanium,,at that point the phone seemed to hang, so I rebooted the phone and then it would give me multiple force close of just about every app..keyboard force close etc...& some icons at the top of the screen that I have never seen before..ie a circular battery icon..
I was able to boot into rom manager..but not sure what to do next? Don't want to make it any worse..lol

Everything was force closing.. No keyboard.... Really strange!

Thanks.. Just don't understand why.... I don't know if this started with talkapk, it was force closing when I was trying to open a pm.. or if it was titanium or supersu?
kind of freaked me out though...!
A great reason for backups

Yeah, maybe... It seemed fine at first... Now just updating some 200+ apps Fortunately I had a CWM backup from a couple weeks ago....
But nothing worked on the phone... Thankfully I could get into recovery... Phew

Fixing force close issues
The best thing to do for force closes is to go into ROM Manager, scroll down to where you see "Fix Permissions" and run them. It fixes force close problems all the time for me

Thanks, but the phone was at the point where it was unusable... The only functionality was with the volume & power buttons... Lesson learned... Along with Titanium do a CWM backup weekly... It's amazing how much you can change on your phone, without realising it!

since this is the i777 forum, my guess would be that your section is not here. if you don't know what section is yours, you probably shouldn't be rooting and modding your phone.
sorry to be so harsh.

Not harsh at all. Following directions properly is the main ingredient for successful flashing or using apps that require root. Since restoring with TiBu across different ROMs can definitely mess up your phone if not done correctly, one needs to know exactly what they are doing. Not being able to find the correct forum is a bad omen.
Moving to a more appropriate thread...
Guys didn't wanna start a new thread and clog it up so ill ask here. With the new update a titanium backup, isn't it supposed to I have update zips that restore with data? when I restore through recovery after complete wipes, the app's install but there is no data. I was hoping that this zip would restored exactly the same as it would in normal restore processes. Example: SwiftKey needs setup again, all accounts need to be signed back in, etc

Hi guys,
I recently took the latest OTA update and lost root, which is fine. My problem is, is that I cannot remove SuperSU and still have that annoying custom (with an unlocked padlock image) at start up. I did a factory reset thinking it would get rid of them, but it didn't. Can anyone help me out? DroidModderX suggested to flash a stock image in odin, but I don't know how to do that. I am still in the infant stages of doing stuff like this
Thanks!

I am having great difficulties with my samsung gs2 skyrocket. It freezes, lags terribly, and shuts off on occasion and force closes quite a bit. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to alleviate these problems? Is it just a skyrocket issue. Please help before I throw it up against a wall.
You have to tell us a little more about what's going on. It's not a typical sr issue. Are you on a custom Rom? Are you rooted? More info would be helpful.

Ok! I have no idea what kind of rom I'm using. All of this is new to me. I have been using the phone from the factory. I have done nothing to it except for a total reset once. I don't have a lot of apps and there is no damage.
Then you are probably running stock. Have you done any of the ota updates? In settings, about phone, what android version does it say you have?
You're probably going to want to do a clean install of your os, but that's a big process.

You probably have years of crap and apps that is causing the problem. Doing a clean install is a big process but will probably solve your problem. But you'll lose just about everything on your phone. You'll have to decide if it's worth it and also what info you can't lose and how to back it up.

Read vincom's sticky in the development forum on how to return to stock. I'd suggest you do that using kies. It'll up date your firmware to 4.1.2, jellybean. You'll need to do a factory reset after you install which will clean out all your garbage.

Thank you so much for your time and effort.
I would read vincoms sticky thread. Then I would back up anything you don't want to lose. Next, I would download the 4.1.2 tar and use Odin to flash it. Factory reset and you're done

There is one method in the android development section it has been there for months and it's the first post. There are to others that have been updated since it was posted last year also in the android development section. Lastly all the methods work you just have to CAREFULLY follow directions.
Yes its hard yo find all the tight files I have Odin 307 I think do you know if that will work with the files?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it will work.
Is it beanstwon method that you are referring to?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yes it doesn't require Odin. It is just a one click method.
Oh OK I read a lot of the comments and they are positive feedback but as I watched on this guy on YouTube his comment section are loaded with this "messed up my phone" or "don't do this this doesn't work" very little comments that said this worked for me. If this doesn't work on the first try I understand using another USB port on the computer is an option and using a different cord other than the one Samsung gives you is also an option. Is there anything to know about before doing this? This phone s my daily driver and I really don't want to have to use a prepaid phone.
And Should I also download the stock ROM not rooted before doing in case it does like some kind of soft brick?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well I have never tried the one click method as I use Odin to root my phone. So get the stock roms as backup in case you run into problems with casual.
OK thank you so much for the advice and I'll shall let you know what happens.

If you hard brick your phone you send it to jtag and pay them to get it fixed because nothing else works.
If you are feeling squeamish about the whole thing then it is probably a better idea not to do it.

Just thought you might like to know that I just used CASUAL this morning to root my galaxy s3 on Verizon build VRBMF1 with no problem. CASUAL unlocks the bootloader and installs TWRP which I like so far. Just make sure you grab the right download and if it doesn't work the first time try again with a different mirror. There's a version of it floating around out there that for some reason wouldn't work with my drivers.
Hope this helps ease your mind a little. Oh btw I probably read 1000 posts about rooting and the best method and someone claims to have bricked their with every single one of them. It's a risk we take.
