[Q] new ics for thunderbolt - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys
I loaded the new radio and ics for thunderbolt , (I was rooted before I loaded this new radio and rom) 2 weeks ago since then battery life has not been so good. With no use except looking at time r weather the battery will be at 15% by 5:00 this is for about 8 hours.
If I use the phone 2 very short phone calls went from 99% to 81% in less than 10 minutes
The battery is 2 years old, I have thought about replacing, but need to find out if anybody has any other suggestions before I do this
Thanks alot.

[Q] freezing hero

hello, i rooted my hero a few weeks ago and everything was fine. last few days though my battery drains in less about 16hours (usually lasts 1&half days). ive deleted a couple of hardly used apps but i have not got that many anyway. also my phone has started to freeze a few times a day now. only way to get it back on is take battery out and restart the phone. anybody got any ideas. in basic terms aswell. im not great with tecnology. thanks.
by the way im running the froyo 2.2.

[Q] I just dont get it! (battery)

Ive had my Thunderbolt since March 17th, and ill admit coming from the OG Droid the battery sucks. but theres days where my battery will last four hours and theres days where my battery will run a marathon. for example today I've been running on a single charge for 1 day and 3 hours with 40% battery left. this is by far the longest I've held a single charge. Is anyone else coming near these numbers with a stock/rooted Thunderbolt or did i just get really, really lucky with a decent battery/phone that doesn't drain like the kitchen sink?
Im running stock sense and im a moderate user in a good 4g area. everywhere i am i have 3-4 bars.

[Q] Is your Samsung Focus battery as crappy as mine?

Hey guys, so I'm running Mango 7712, and my Samsung Focus battery only lasts for like 2 hours of actual use. For every 10 minutes of using the phone my battery loses up to 8%, and this is while not playing games or doing anything stressful to the battery. I can probably max out at 6 hours if I don't use the phone.
I don't have the best memory, but I remember my phone being able to last 4 or 5 hours of actual use. But I could be wrong, if you have a Focus, is it as bad as mine? Should I buy a new OEM battery? (And I've tried to recalibrate it, that didn't work, I think it made it worse actually)
Nope just you, my focus has amazing battery. Best out of any smartphone I've owned actually, it can easily last me two days of moderate use... one full day with heavy use (around 15 hours of heavy browsing with music and stuff.)
Im using stock NoDo though, dark background/theme auto backlight. Don't know if mango could have anything to do with your issues.
I have both omnia 7 and hd7 .
Funny thing is that both battery life last the same when surfing continously on 3g.

Yeah I dunno what's up with mine, it used to get me through the day before, now it just sucks. I've heard people say that Mango increased their battery life though. I'm gonna try buying a new OEM battery and see if that helps.
These phones have been out for less than a year so should be under warranty. I have had a weird anamoly a couple of times with my Focus though. Fully charged and when I rebooted it gave me low battery warning. Took battery out and back in and was back to normal. Has happened 3 times in the last 4 months.

That happened to me too! Like it was stuck at 1% even though it truly had 30% left, I left it like that until it died, and then it went back to normal.
Mine isn't bad. A far cry better than my 3gs. I can get about 10 to 13 hours of decent usage. It does go down to about 8 hours if I have music playing for most of the day.

Hi Ryken,
How old is the SIM card that you are using? I have read in other parts of the forum that people have had decreased battery life issues when using an old SIM, once they had it replaced with a new one the battery life increased considerably.
Hope this helps,
Creamy
This usually happens when flashing a new ROM - you need to let your battery recalibrate itself. There are a few examples of this in the forums.
if yr sim card is around 2 years or more, it may have worn out. the gold contacts may have worn out, so change to a newer one
I did this an dmy battery life has been great
yr sim card works 24 hours 7 days a week for 2 years, just imagine how much of a beating it has taken .
Well my sim card is 10 months old, I got it with my phone last November when WP7 launched. Is that old enough to be bad? I've bought a new Samsung battery, it should arrive tomorrow or Thursday, I'll tell you guys how that goes for me?

10 months is nothing to worry about

[Q] Nexus-S OTA 4.0.4 GPS_Battery_GT-i9020T

Hello to the group.
I am a New owner of A Google Nexus S GT-i9020T
This is My second Android Device.
It has seen 2 OTA's
1, 3.0-3.2.6 (hours after Activation)(25 Days Ago)
2, 3.2.6-4.0.4 (One Week Ago)
I went on a 5 hour trip and used the Nexus S for GPS (Google Navigation) in Edge Data mode and a car charger connected and charging but after 3 hours the Battery was Dead.(Stock Battery)
My question for the group is;
Is this what I am to expect with the Nexus S GT-i9020T or is this a problem with the Phone/Battery?
I also own the Samsung Vibrant. (for 2 years)
Same exact setup/Charger using My Vibrant and My battery would actually Charge Up full. (Stock Battery) Weather I use ICS, Gingerbread or Froyo roms.
Any feedback on your GPS/Battery usage compared with mine will be helpful.
Other that this, The phone acts Very Good with the 4.0.4 OTA.
Battery lasts over 1day and a half for my usage and charges normaly.
Do I need to request A replacement? or is this normal?

[Q] Atrix 2 and 26h battery life on standby?!

Hello! I finally got here. My first post on your forum . Please be gentle .
I got year ago used Atrix 2 phone and this phone lasted on wifi on about 8 hours. I got new battery (suppose to be original Motorola) and now its about 12hours. My standby time is about 26hours. I just read that is should be like 16 DAYS?!?!
When I look at battery usage my screen takes like 50% of battery life with usage of about 1hour (in a day). I have setup brightness on auto.
I'm running ICS on it. This is my first smartphone and I was not sure how long they last and now I started to read more about it.
Any advices what is wrong (if its wrong?).
Thank you!
BTW. When I turn on Wifi/3g and use phone (email check, youtube etc.) I will get about 8-10 hours of "heavy use".
