Hi I have a samsung t959v and I flash Team Acid Cyanogenmod 7.2 but when I put my simcard and put my simcard password it never get unlocked. There is a solution for that?
you cant do that anymore unlocking a phone has became illegal
http://gizmodo.com/5978982/unlocking-your-phone-is-illegal-starting-tomorrow
but there was a petition hope we win :fingers-crossed:
He doesn't want to unlock the phone, he's got a lock code on his sim card. I believe that none of the MTD roms we have (cm7, ics, jb) had the ability to unlock your sim, so you should flash back to stock, remove the sim passcode and then flash the MTD rom again.

Read that article that you linked. It's only illegal if the phone was purchased on or after Jan. 26th. Even then if you unlock it do you really think your carrier will begin legal actions against you?
OP
Where did you get the lock code? Unlocking these phones generally requires you to be on a stock based ROM. I believe some have had success unlocking from other ROMs but I'd flash back to stock then enter the code then reflash CM7.
Laggy network... Made me double post...

Like they said above, Do a full Nandroid backup, flash to stock, unlock, flash to
CM7, then restore your nandroid backup.
Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. I hope this will help

I wonder who is going to enforce this law? It would be funny if a cop came to your house and arrested you for breaking this stupid law, on a phone that you bought and paid for in full.

Simple question needing a simple answer.
If my phone is unlock by using a code provided by ATT how do I lock back the phone for warranty issues?
Do I just reinstall the original ATT Fuze stock rom?
Thanks...
If it's unlocked through ATT, it's perfectly fine to return it in the same condition for warranty purposes.
Phone unlock

I think that's what he meant He just forgot to place a comma after no in response to the OP's concern.
if you unlocked by code from AT&T, then you don't need to relock it to return it. not sure why you thought you needed to relock it.
After hours spent talking to ATT to get the code to unlock my full paid phone, I was told once I unlock the phone it voids my warranty.
Thats why I ask..

are you sure you are CID unlocking or just sim unlocking. if you sim unlock you CANNOT FLASH ROMS. if it is CID unlocked basiclly wide open then your fine to flash roms etc.

ok obviosuly no one knows what therwe talking about here..but i can give it to californiyay because hes ASKING THE QUESTION..i dont mean to be a jerk but dont give out answers if you dont know what your talking about...sorry that sounded really mean lol
ok sim unlocking is just alowing your device to utilize a different carrier's sim card and the warranty department cant detect if it is unlocked IF yu used the method ON XDA..now if they gave you a code i BELIEVE that is solely based on the rom you are using because one you flash another rom it MAY ask you again for that code when you insert a different sim..i myself have never used codes from carrier reps ive only done it myself through hardware devices and software hacks...so even if your device is SIM UNLOCKED you STILL CAN FLASH ROMS
and you dont need to CID to flash roms..i personally dont cid unlock anymore because on the bootloader screen at the top it wuill say "SECURITY UNLOCKED" and if you want to do a warranty return and even though you reverted your device back to warranty spec rom and spl it still blares that message at the top of the bootloader screen which is a dead giveaway..
just dont trip if you need to do a warranty exchange just call em up (18008011101) and just tell them your isue if and when you have one and they send you a new device and you send yous back..and viola your good..

they only give out sim unlock codes...CID unlocking is done through software hacks...
Try emptying your cache immediately before clicking on the link (I needed to do that). You may also want to turn off any anti-virus software (and perhaps pop-up blockers). You also need 7zip or winrar to open up the folder.
BTW, I purchased the unlocker, and then chickened out and didn't use it when I found out (and didn't understand) what it did. So, I also bought the SIM unlock code from htccode.com. If you go that route, the phone does stay unlocked after ROM flashing (there was an earlier Q about that, I just thought I'd address it).
Sorry, still a little confused on the whole SIM/CID Unlocking, so I have to SIM unlock to flash roms? and what benefit does CID unlocking give me? what form of unlocking do I need to change radios?

You need to SIM unlock the phone to use different carriers (t-mobile, orange, etc.). You need the security lock to flash non-raphael radios. You don't need to do anything (except install hard-spl) to flash roms, unless the rom contains a non-raphael radio (most do not change the radio, from what I gather).
When I flash a rom, do I still have the old at&t stuff on there so I can just reboot with the vol down button if I dont like the rom? sorry to be so ignorant, we all have to start somewhere. Ive tried searching but when you type in "flash rom" you end up getting 392 threads to search through.
I'm curious too as I'll be getting my Fuze on Saturday

if you want to go back to your original rom, then you'll have to download the stock rom and flash it again. Doing a hard reset will just give you a fresh copy of the cooked rom you flashed.
So, just for saftey I have located the stock rom for my phone, now, it says it has a radio, the radio is the same version as mine, but I have heard not to flash with a radio if your device is locked because it may brick the device, does this apply for using the same radio to flash with? (I just want to be very careful when I do this not to screw anything up)

also how long does it take to flash?
OK people the questions and answers in here have been done MANY MANY MAY times, please read the sticky threads in the various sections before starting a whole new thread....these devices are expensive and a flashing process should NOT be attempted until you are fully aware of what you are doing

It will work with any rom and it is permanent.
Sent from my Calculator with Android.
Unlock the phone by putting in a non T-Mobile sim and turning on the phone. The code entry box will appear. Unlock it now before flashing a custom roms. Most customs roms don't have the necessary code to perform the unlock. But once you have unlocked it you never have to do it again no matter what rom you flash.
Hi
I bought D2G from ebay it was listed with bad esn. It's not asking unlock code or anything, reads the sim card, changes to global mode, connects to a network(jumps from one to another all the time) but no service when I try to dial a number says network not available. So what is wrong with my phone? is it unlock?something is wrong wit the radio? or what?
If it is not asking for network subsidy code, then it must be unlocked if it works with your sim. Make sure it is set to GSM/UMTS mode, not Global - if your sim is active you should get reception. At least on 2G (GSM). If you are not getting reception, something might be wrong with the phone.
It might also be running a custom ROM (unlock requests only work on Blurry ROMs afaik); another possibility is former owner going to the “hidden” menu and choosing “USA Band”.
In the latter case, you need to SBF.
thanks Gasai Yuno custom rom was the problem now it's on stock rom and is asking for unlock code. I'll try to unlock it thanks again

Good luck to OP with the unlock codes - hopefully your phone won't turn out to be from those Verizon played with..

I try to flash stock rom (kdz extension) but it doesn't work because my boot recovery is not stock recovery. What should I do to remove CWM recovery for my phone model LG Optimus G E973?

Hi. I had an Evo 4G and CM9 mastered. My first mistake was getting an iPhone.
I now have an i717. It was rooted but I didnt recognize it so I immediately put in clockwork and CM9. I lost imei but it reappeared after putting in the radio vkl1 a second time.
I have some db's in the signal meter in settings so its getting something. The number isnt showing from the tmo sim though. The phone was never unlocked.
I do not get a prompt to unlock when I reboot. Did I need to unlock first? I thnk I know the answer.
What should I do? I can pay $10 or whatever but I shouldnt have to. Im not sure if I need to use this odin thing to get to a stock ATT rom or something before I can unlock? Please help. thanks in advance.
I say u should go to odin and unroot then reroot it just to be on the safe side. Then u could unlock it if u want but unrooting it should work. It always works for me

The i717 is the Galaxy Note, not the Skyrocket. Did you put a Skyrocket rom on the Note or was that just a typo?
.........
At this point I have paid cellunlock dot net to give me an unlock code.
Probably a common problem was that my USB cable was not in good status, using a usb extension, so I had failed flashing of firmware til late last night.
This morning I was able to install a stock ATT firmware. Now I receive a prompt for the unlock code. I cannot put CM9 back on it or do anything with it until I unlock it, so I am waiting.
**devpro**. you said no need to unlock? Im not sure. It certainly didnt ask for an unlock code when I was on cm9, but I could not make calls.
Could anyone clarify? Do I need to unlock if I am rooted, using tmo on att note?
I dont care much for odin or that kies crap. I prefer reboot to recovery, clockwork, rom manager and put cm9 on it. In critical situations its a life saver.
So im waiting on the unlock code or to find out i dont need it but i bet I do, especially since i travel overseas a lot.
???
If you're on T-Mobile, and using an AT&T phone you will need to unlock it.

I am doing the same thing with my Skyrocket. I got impatient waiting for the unlock code and rooted it, flashed CWM, custom radio, and CM9 on it. Then realized that after putting in non-AT&T SIM I wasn't getting unlock prompt. Keypad codes to bring up prompt don't work either. Hoping return to stock fixes it and I can just restore the CM9 from backup.

You absolutely have to unlock whether you're prompted or not. Rooting and installing non-stock software on it appears to result in lack of access to the unlock prompt (guessing UCLE2 radio but it may have just been CM9 in general).
I'll let you all know how it goes.
Success
Returned to stock using k0nane's method and Odin here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342348, shut down, removed battery, inserted non-AT&T ROM, booted up, and was prompted for the unlock code.
Note: Those that are planning on using k0nane's method above should use the file he links to (SGH-I727-UCKJ2-k0nane.tar), another archive I grabbed via a different thread boot-looped my phone and I ended up having to do some extra work.
I put cyanogenmod 10 on my HTC One S.
I sent the phone to my cousin in DR (Dominican Republic) upon arrival we realized I made a big mistake. I didn't SIM unlock the phone.
I went online and found a website that does it for cheap: Cellunlocker.net
I got the code, sent it to my cousin, and he told me "it's not working".
I then looked on here (XDA) and found a "do it yourself method" for unlocking the SIM. Basically you input a command in Superuser and the phone gives you a number. You take that number and the IMEI number and you can calculate the SIM unlock code based on those numbers.
We ended up getting the same number that Cellunlocker.net sent us.
Could it be that Cyanogenmod is blocking my cousin from unlocking the phone?
PS. I have a video of my cousin unlocking the device (and failing) here: http://www.bodyctrl.com/stuff/unlock1.MOV
On the SIM unlock thread they mention it might not work if you're not on a sense rom. But you only need to be on a sense rom until you're unlocked and then you can go back to whatever you want.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
just flash a stock rom on the phone, stock odex/deodex use unlock code then once done flash back to CM10.
SUCCESS!
This issue was resolved.
I installed a Sense Based ROM and performed a SIM Unlock on the device. The device then rebooted.
I then installed CM 10.
Device works perfectly fine now on any network of my choice.

I used the stock Sense (4.1) that shipped with the phone (after rooting) to do the sim unlock. Custom roms based on sense may have their own problems.

Ahh. Might be just that. I tried ViperDroid and didn't work. The problem is that I didn't backup my shipped rom (shame on me), is there any way I can workaround this (e.g. is there any stock rom for me to download)?
