My brother and me created this app launcher of Gallery for Xperia X10 with FW 2.1
It is different than this method described in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826250
The X10 FW 2.1 hides the Gallery 3D launcher, so we use the easiest harmless way to fix this by creating an application that will launch the Gallery 3D.
Added app launcher of Music for Xperia X10 with FW 2.1
Music Widget not supported by this app.
In order to properly bring up all features of Music and its Widget, you need someone with knowledge of decompile, recompile and repackaging of APK.
FYI.
What i make is not a Gallery application, nor i hack or do anything with the existing Gallery. What i post here is a standalone application that acts as a shortcut or launcher to existing Gallery application in your phone.
This app works with any Android 2.1 which have Gallery shortcut hidden by manufacturer.
Nice work now i can remove mediascape
Thanks, this will make my life easier.
Thanx

You might wanna try WinAmp for your music player replacement. But i advising you not to remove/uninstall MediaScape because most of things depends on it, might cause you problem. Just leave it there, won't do any harm.
I will check to see if the phone still have the stock media player inside.
FYI:
The launcher i make is not the gallery app it self, it just a application that work as a shortcut to open Gallery, since the default app launcher is hidden by SE.
Great app cheers.

If you happen to use Launcherpro, just press Add-Shortcuts-Activities-Galllery/Music from the homescreen

I can not see a photo album of my friends on the TF700
From the smartphone instead of the button appears with the opportunity to see the album.
What do I have to activate this option?
Try friendcaster, it's better setup for tablets. Facebook works well on a phone but on a tablet it has a terrible interface and does have a few lingering issues.
Or you can try accessing it through the browser.
Thanks for the advice. I will try FriendCaster.
Do you know if you can see photos of friends and choose their album?
I've been using samsung touchwiz for a while and quite like some of the functionality. I find myself switching between TW and stock android, simply because of the functions Samsung have on offer. I've now installed 4.4 on my S4 and am missing the allshare/DLNA functions from the TW gallery app.
Now I know i can't get the stock TW gallery on my phone but is there another gallery app which has the ability to stream images to a DLNA TV?
I've tried various gallery apps, they have no such functionality. I have also tried apps like twonky and imediashare. The issue with these apps is that they are mainly DLNA server apps. I need to choose media then destination then start the server.
The way it works in TW gallery is I can browse through my photos, click on one, then click the allshare button and click the TV I wish to broadcast too. Then it does it instantly. No configuring. Is there any such app?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
EDIT: So sorry I posted this thread here. I didn't realise it needed to go into the Q&A section, can someone move it please?
It looks like there is no way to control music currently?
Until recently I have been using the Smart Extras Music app and Media Button control apps to control my music player (Google Music). Now that I have updated to KitKat, the Smart Extras Music app crashes.
Sony should be ashamed. This is one of the main uses of the damn watch. :cyclops:
I am developer by trade, so I will use Sony's API to create an app to do it, but it is infuriating that I have to!
This sort of stuff is the reason I sold my Xperia S and bought a Nexus!
I just picked up a sw2 and have the n5, willing to test for you if need be

A possible solution could be to find another working music player smart extension on the Google Play.
In my case the Sony music player extension no longer works after the latest update, so I bought this one and it works well with my S4 stock music player and it's also fast responding:

If you want to try, consider that if you'll not be satisfied with it you have 15 minutes to eventually ask for a reimbursement.
Re: No way to control music
Sony should create a application that could help in stoping and playing music from the Smartwatch
If you have poweramp player installed, you can use it's plugin. It supports SW1 and SW2.
And what about default app for SW1 - it works with both default player and poweramp. Don't know about SW2.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware.extension.music
Check this default app out.
Re: No ways to control music
Yes I did not find any way to control to music over smartwatch..
Works fine for me on my N4 with 4.4.2 in ART mode and Google Music. It sometimes takes a few attempts but then works fine. I just don't see any album art on the SW2.
Make sure you don't have some sort of task killer and that you didn't Greenify the Sony apps.
A Redditor created a new extension to control music. His one shows album art and also supports the new "low power" mode: http://www.reddit.com/r/smartwatch/comments/1ty29q/smartwatch_2_music_control
Ive solved this problem with remote widgets app and Its perfect.

At the top of the page inside the square: "Here you can download the app itself" - just click the version number to dl.

I get:
Parse error
There was a problem while parsing the package.
Nexus 4, Android 4.3. I guess perhaps the guy has written it only for 4.4 for now?
I had a chance to have a closer look. It is a permission error:
Code:
permission Denial: reading com.android.providers.media.MediaProvider uri
I don't have the full text of the log cat entry, as stupid me didn't save it before factory reset my phone.
Anyway, it turns out the Sony music control app is getting a permission denied error under KitKat when it attempts to retrieve album art.
The work around is to root your device. I hadn't gotten around to rooting my N4 until now. My N4 is now rooted, and it all works fine.
It is a pretty piss poor effort by Sony that they haven't fixed this. On Facebook their excuse was that "their phones don't run KitKat yet". Big deal Sony, you market you watches to other brands of phone too. This is exactly the sort of attitude that caused me to sell my Xperia S and get a Nexus.

My Nexus 5 is rooted and yet the Sony extension has never worked well, in fact it's easily the worse part of the watch. I have had no problems with anything else, aside from the music app. I wonder how did you get it to work with root? Do you need to give it permission elsewhere?
The above app from the Reddit thread works nicely, very simple but, album art is sort of there and it only plays/pauses but, it WORKS which is the main thing.
Disabbling Google music in application manager on My note 3 makes the SW2 control music on the stock music player which is the one I like to use

Hey developers, first of all thanks a lot for providing me the latest version of Sony Music App.
I was just wondering if we can use Sony Music App with Samsung Edge Screen (It is used by one of the Samsung 's music app as of now). If you people can try for this I would be speechless.
Ps: I am talking about the lighting color effect according to the album art.
Thanks
where did you get the sony music app ?
