[HOW TO] Unlock bootloader, root, flash custom recovery, rom .. - HTC One S

Unlocking Bootloader
What you need:
PC
Phone
Installed HTC sync (phone drivers)
Unlocking "tool" (batch file and fastboot / adb files)
With unlocked bootloader you will be able to flash custom recovery needed for flashing ROM, rooting etc.
Guide:
Download unlock.rar from attachment
Extract contest of rar to your desktop
Restart your phone
When powering up, press and hold “Volume Down” to enter Bootloader
With volume up / down select “Fastboot” and select it with power button
You should see “Fastboot USB” on your phone screen
Run “Unlock bootloader.bat” from your desktop
Press “t” and confirm with enter to get token
Go to HTC Dev registration and register
Go to HTC Dev unlock bootloader
Select “all other supported models” on right
Skip all steps till step 9
Paste your token like shown in step 9
After some time you will receive E-Mail with Unlock_code.bin in attachment
Save Unlock_code.bin to your desktop
In “Unlock bootloader.bat ” press “u” and confirm with enter
On your phone you should see unlock menu, move with Volume Up and select with Power
That’s it, your phone bootloader should now be unlocked and ready to flash custom recovery.
Flashing Recovery
After you are done with unlocking bootloader you can flash custom recovery.
Recommended recovery for HTC One S Ville C2 is TWRP, because it is most stable one that works with device.
You can use Superboot to root your phone and than install Goomanager from play store and flash TWRP from it
or you can try this:
download latest TWRP recovery from HERE (one with villec2 in name is the one you need)
download attached recovery flashing utility and extract content to your desktop
rename recovery image to twrp.img and place it on desktop (or location where you extracted flashing utility)
reboot your phone into fastboot (restart it and while starting press and hold volume down, when in bootloader press power to enter fastboot mode)
run flash-recovery.bat
press f and confirm with enter
your recovery should now be flashed and you can enter it by selecting recovery from your bootloader screen (volume up / down to navigate, power to select)
Flashing custom ROM
After you have unlocked bootloader / installed custom recovery you can flash custom ROM
After you have found ROM that you would like to flash and saved it on your phone this are the steps you need to take:
reboot into recovery
wipe data (factory reset) and cache
go back chose "install"
locate ROM you have downloaded to your phone
after rom has been installed reboot into fastboot
now you need to flash boot.img
Boot.img is usually included inside ROM .zip file, but since ONE S has S-ON it cannot be flashed from recovery but you need to flash it from fastboot.
Click to collapse
download fastboot files from attachment and extract them to c:/fastboot
Start cmd (win+r -> cmd)
in cmd:
cd\
cd fastboot
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
reboot phone
HBOOT versions and ROM compatibility
Not all ROMs are compatible with all HBOOT versions.
Minimum required HBOOT version for flashing SENSE based, android 4.04 or 4.1.1 (JellyBean) ROM is 2.11 (you will get it with official 4.0.4 OTA update).
You can run older versions of Sense based ROMs (4.0.3) on newer hboot versions.
This does not comply to AOSP ROMs

Thank you, great how-to.
As i made my phone ready for New Roms i stucked at TWRP. If anyone else has problems there. Try this after unlocking bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788974
And install goomanager from play store and install open recovery

i'm not sure will superboot work with devices upgraded to 4.1 (or if any one even ships with 4.1) but i will add it as option in OP

Great one! Just to get ti to stick
Any requirements/restrictions for all this due to branding, android version, cid?

should work with all devices

Nice job:good: Sticky

I'm on VIP Serbia 4.0.3 stock rom, and I don't have any updates through software update on phone. Bipe wrote me in mail that it should be at least 4.0.4 software to be sure that this would work. Any workaround? Like debranding or flashing internatioal stock rom?

4.0.4 is needed for JB based custom ROMs to work
If you don't have OTA update you can try flashing 4.0.4 RUU

Forgive my noobness,
ruu is an offline pc update tool? Folowed the links and got to site hosting files:
PJ4020000_OTA_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100-1.11.401.110_release_2865916.zip
And
RUU_VILLEC2_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.15.401.100_Radio_16.21.20.02U_16.09.20.11_M2_release_286571_signed.exe
I suppose one is an update (zip) and the other is full rom, and that both are 4.0.4.
Should I try to install just update or full? And is the update flashable zip to be installed through stock recovety?

its best to use ruu, but ensure make a full backup of data through twrp because ruu will erase all user data, secondly for ruu you will need to relock your bootloader. After your phone is updated, unlock your bootloader again.

I haven't done anything to my phone yet. Its stock as it can be So no twrp, unlocked bootloader or so.
When you mention backing up data, you mean rom and such?So if (hope it won't) anything goes wrong with ruu, I can restore phone to a present state? I have all I need synced and copied to my pc that would be called "user data".

ok so go with ruu and just be sure that the CID of ur device is supported with RUU that u r going to flash and if there will be some error it will give prior to flash so most probably nothing should go wrong

How to know which one should I use? On villec2.info folowed the link to this: http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=VilleC2
There are few europe ruu files, just want to be sure... The Europe_2.15.401.100 seams to latest. Also how to check the CID compatibility? My CID is HTC_032 (got it by CID Getter app from store)

Hope this will clear things out for you:

Hello everyone!
I have updated my phone to 4.0.4 using ruu. Now I'm going to try to flash recovery and root it.
Anyone tried and sucsseded in flashing stock 4.0.4 after using some custom 4.1.1 roms? I would love to try out some custom roms but it would be nice if I could get back 4.0.4.

[Q] Downgrade hboot 1.23 to 1.17.011?

Hello, i'm sorry for my bad english, I'm french and I'm a little lost with my new phone, I've upgraded my Htc Sensation Hboot 1.17.011 to Hboot 1.23, but I want to restaure to 1.17.0011...It is possible to do that? Where can I found that firmware?
Hope you will understand my question, if you can give me a little help please, and I'm very sorry for my english but I think it's better than the google trad...
thank you everyone
If you want to stay on a 4.0.3 rom, you cannot downgrade to 1.17 as they won't boot without it.
But in the dev section, in the partition info thread, there is an boot flash able version of the 1.17 hboot somewhere in it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation
Thanks, I just want to install the Elegancia Rom but when I tried the boot bug and stop at the boot animation, you said in the dev section, in the partition info thread...is that one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618 ? and what I've to download please?
thanks
So you upgraded your firmware to 3.12, no? You need that to run any ICS Rom. Why do you need hboot 1.17? You still can flash Roms whith hboot 1.23 as long as you are s-off and supercid. Anyway, you can find hboot 1.17 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20681060&postcount=22
Cheers
Sent from my Kindle Fire using Tapatalk
@ar4l, thanks, and yes I can flash but when I reboot my phone it freeze at the boot animation, it's the 3.12 firmware but Elegancia is not an ICS rom isn't it?
There are two versions of elegantia, one on GB and oneon ICS 4.0.3.
The second one requires the new 3.12 firmware with Hboot 1.23, the first one can run with both.
You really don't need to downgrade. If you have the boot bug is because you probably didn't flash the Firmware 3.12.401.2 following the correct procedure, First you should SUPERCID (step 4), reinstall 3.12.401.2 firmware from the thread you mentioned, reinstall whichever rom you want.
In alternative, if you don't want to SuperCID, you can follow mike1986's instructions to manually add your CID and MID to the firmware package:
1. Check your CID using fastboot getvar cid and MID using fastboot getvar mid
2a. If your CID and MID are supported by default, navigate to point 3.
2b. If your CID or MID is not supported by default, do this: (you do it at your own risk)
2c. Open PG58IMG.zip (don't extract it)
2d. Open android-info.txt in text editor
2e. Add your cidnum: <your CID> or modelid: <your MID> to the list, save file and close archive
3. Place PG58IMG.zip on your SD card
4. Boot your device holding power button + vol down button
5. Follow instructions on the screen

Sensation without ROM, HELP PLEASE

I have a sensation with hboot 1.18.0000 s-on
I have unlock the bootloader and install custom recovery!
When i power on the phone it fails(restart's)
Please help me!
Ok a little more information would be helpful. Do you still have the stock ROM on the device, I mean is the custom recovery all that you have installed? Have you tried booting to the bootloader and then to recovery?
I try to install a custom ics rom, isn't the stock one and i don't have a backup! Sorry for my bad english
The stock was a 2.3 gingerbread!
Ok I think I understand your problem now. Have you flashed the boot.img for the ROM via fastboot or did you enable Smart Flash for 4EXT Recovery? If not that is probably your problem. I say this because you are S-ON so that tells me you are HTC Dev unlocked which means you have to flash the boot.img differently than if you were full S-OFF.

Wait I just realized something. You said you are on Hboot 1.18.0000, which means you are still on the old firmware and you can not use ICS ROM. The process to gain S-OFF for Hboot 1.18.0000 is much simpler than for higher Hboot versions because you can use revolutionary. So before I go any further I need to know if you want to stay HTC Dev unlocked or if you want to be full S-OFF.

Ok here goes, you are still on the old firmware so you can not use a ICS or Jelly Bean ROM without updating your firmware. Now because you are S-ON you can not flash another firmware unless it is in a official update package. No let me cover your options here.
Option #1
You can just flash a Gingerbread ROM and then flash the boot.img and you will be back up and going.
Option#2
You can re install the stock recovery from here, you will have to extract the recovery from the zip file and flash it via fastboot commands. Then you can download and flash the official update from this thread[/URL}. You may have to open the zip file and then open the firmware.zip file and add your CID to the "android-info.txt" if it gives you a error about the wrong CID. below is what the "android-info.txt" has in it already, if you see your CID then you should have no problems.
Code:
modelid: PG5813000
cidnum: HTC__001
cidnum: HTC__E11
cidnum: HTC__N34
cidnum: HTC__203
cidnum: HTC__102
cidnum: HTC__405
cidnum: HTC__Y13
cidnum: HTC__A07
cidnum: HTC__304
cidnum: HTC__032
cidnum: HTC__016
mainver: 3.33.401.6
hbootpreupdate:1
After flashing this via the stock recovery your ROM you have on your device now should boot, but remember to reflash a custom recovery.
Option#3
You can relock your bootloader via HTC Dev and use [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300"]this thread to gain full S-OFF and then just flash the 3.33 universal firmware package from this thread.. Afer that you can flash any ROM you want to and not have to flash the boot.img separate
If you think you ever will want to be full S-OFF I highly recommend you use Revolutionary before you change your Firmware as it is much easier to use than Juopunutbear.

Look in the Sensation Android Development forum, you will probably have to look back past the first couple of pages to find one. Just look for a ROM that says it is 2.3.? Android and you should be ok.

If you are still having troubles try this ROM and see what it does I know it is the right kind of ROM to use with the firmware you have.
I did a wipe, then flash the rom, then flash the boot.img from cmd! and if i power normaly is continuously rebooting, when i enter bootloader-->recovery the phone is starting perfectly!
If you have not worked out your problem do the below quoted text is from the "Flashing roms with S-ON and 1.27 HBOOT" thread. Please do the below and post your firmware virsion.
Extra 2: Checking your exact firmware version
This can be useful if your phone is stuck in a bootloop, people who will try to help you will need this formation. You can find out your exact firmware version by doing the following;
If you can turn your phone on do the following:
Plug in your phone and make sure USB-debugging is enabled
Go to C:\Android or wherever your adb and fastboot are located
Shift right click in the white space on that folder
Select "Open command window here
Type in: adb
Type in: adb reboot-bootloader
Your phone will reboot, wait until you see a white screen which says "FASTBOOT USB"
Type in the command window: fastboot getvar all
From the list "version-main" represents your current firmware version

Maybe you should wipe cache and dalvik cache. Saved me once somehow.

(GUIDE) RESTORE JB HBOOT 3.06 TO STOCK AFTER CUSTOM ROM ONE S C2 (villec2) !!

i find it hard to restore my one s because there is no official RUU for my one s c2,i failed to s-off aswel to use older RUU that i have so i found out that you can still restore your rom to stock after using custom roms..this method is tested and working (but me reminded to always have nandroid back up and use it at your own risk)
1st step: download a OTA update,in my case i download ASIA WWE 3.17.707.102 (it is in a zip form): you can find yours here http://splanet.info
or you can obtain it form any other source
2nd step: once you have the zip file open it and extract the firmware.zip (put it beside the fastboot.exe or inside the folder where adb and fastboot is)
now before proceeding to next step you need to verify first your CID
To Get the CID of your phone: reboot the phone in bootloader/fastboot mode (adb reboot bootloader), and use fastboot getvar cid. Match this in the android-info.txt file found inside the firmware.zip file. If it doesn’t match, don’t go any further.
**************If you’re still here, I guess your CID matched.*******************
now we will need tools like notepadc++ and 7zip
3rd step: Now, in the OTA zip file, find the file updater-script in the directory META-INF/com/google/android. In this we’ll need to remove some code that doesn’t work with recoveries other than the default HTC ones. (extract the updater-script)
then Open the file with any decent text editor that preserves newlines (for windows, Notepad++ springs to mind, on Linux/Mac just use vi), and look for a textblock like this:
ifelse( is_ship_bootloader(getprop("ro.bootloader")) == "t" ,
assert(check_cid(getprop("ro.cid"), "00000000" , "11111111" ,
"22222222" , "33333333" , "44444444" , "55555555" , "66666666" ,
"77777777" , "88888888" , "99999999" , "HTC__044") == "t");
);
delete that line.. then save it. after that delete the update-script inside the OTA (located in META-INF/com/google/android.) after deleting copy the new updater-script that we have just edited to the same directory where you delete the old updater-script..
4th step: Next, reboot your phone into Clockworkdmod Recovery (or whatever recovery you have installed), make a nandroid backup of your phone, and copy the OTA zip file on the phone. As a safety measure, it’s recommended to make a backup of everything on the SD storage to your computer.
5th step: When the backups are completed, reboot your phone into bootloader/fastboot mode. It’s time to lock the bootloader again, so we can flash the firmware update. This can be done using the command fastboot oem lock. Your phone will reboot.
6th step: Reboot it once again, this time to OEM update mode: adb reboot oem-78
7th step: Flash the firmware update: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip. If this complains without getting you a green progressbar on the screen, try it again – the second time it usually sticks.(even if it fails the the 4th time around just try and try it)
Once this process completes, reboot the phone again in the new bootloader: fastboot reboot-bootloader.
Now you can unlock your bootloader again, using the Unlock_Code.bin file you got from htcdev.com: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_Code.bin.
At this point, you’d sure as hell wish you’d made a backup, if you didn’t. Because now your phone is wiped, reset to factory default. Don’t say I didn’t warn you upfront.
8th step: After the reboot finishes, you can once again boot in booloader/fastboot mode, and flash your recovery anew. For Clockworkdmod Recovery, the command is fastboot flash recovery <filename.img> Now you can boot the phone in the recovery (select the option from the bootloader menu).
9th step: Once in the recovery, it’s time to restore your nandroid backup. You did make one, did you?
If you finished restoring the backup, or you can now flash the OTA zip on the phone, updating the ROM to the new version or stock version.
After this, you just need to reboot one more time, this time to the ROM itself. Let it finish upgrading all applications, and tadaa, your freshly upgraded phone.
This worked for me, might not work for you. No promises.
this tut i found is for the one x but i made a one s version (villec2) which works.. so have fun and restore your device to stock....
Hope This Helps...
if you like this feel free to like and thanks me
ps: sorry for really bad english

Would it work as an update for phone which doesn't "see" the OTA update and cheating recovery by placing the OTA as update.zip on phone's memory doesn't work either?

hello mate,
ive tried before but it didnt work, you really have to do the stuff, but incase your one s is in different status it will be different..for mine im still s-on
and the ota rom will only work for the firmware .zip that is inside the ota which you will have to manually flash..
Hi xander1993,
I am sorry to bother you but your answer is not clear to me
You say you tried it but didn't work and just after that you write I have to do the stuff
So let's clarify my situation and then I will wait for your answer:
I am currently using TD6 because I could not update to JB using OTA. My HBOOT now is 2.11.
I did go back to stock 4.0.4 (by RUU, my CID is HTC__032) several times, tried OTA, but no result.
Then I tried (also several times) to download the OTA zip file from splanet, place it on phone and reboot to stock recovery - every time it was showing me first a pgone with green arrows shaping to a circle and one arrow inside the circle and after several seconds it was a phone with red triangle with an exclamation mark - at this stage I had to wait few minutes for reboot every time. No effect.
So my question is:
Will your guide help me to get just update from 4.0.4 to JB?

Then I tried (also several times) to download the OTA zip file from splanet, place it on phone and reboot to stock recovery - every time it was showing me first a pgone with green arrows shaping to a circle and one arrow inside the circle and after several seconds it was a phone with red triangle with an exclamation mark - at this stage I had to wait few minutes for reboot every time. No effect.
So my question is:
Will your guide help me to get just update from 4.0.4 to JB?

okay now i got your question my guide is about s-on devices restoring to jelly bean stockbecause s3 version havent got any RUU,all the RUU i found is ICS so i made this to restore back to stock,so in your situation you are still in ics? are you s-off? or s-on? and do you have the bootloader unlocked?
i can help you to update to jb with the OTA just find your OTA that matches your phones CID and MID,
after that you will need to have custom recovery like twrprecovery
then just follow my post above start 2nd step... i will wait for your reply...
As I mentioned above I am on TD6 now (TrickDroid 6), HOS S3, ICS base, S-ON (there is no S-OFF for S3 ), bootloader unlocked.
Hmm, what is MID? I haven't heard of it before..
I will follow your guide once I get an answer for this simple question

Yes it will work because this method is also tricking the custom recovery so that ota can be installed

I read the guide and I barely understood how it works, but my question would be this:
Im on CID BSTAR301 (yeah, Latinamerican fked up CID stuck on 4.0.3) and if I change some of the code of a RUU.zip file (with other updated CID), would it work on my device? Is there any way to cheat the RUU to make it work on others CID? I think this could be possible, it's just some editable files, I hope this could work because I don't wanna be stuck on 4.0.3 while others Villec2 are with official JB

no you cant cheat the RUU but can cheat the OTA update, even if you dont have the the correct OTA it will install but first you need to be unlock via HTCDEV and you got to have twrp custom recovery

HTC One S Arabic JB update
Hi,
I bought an HTC One S from Dubai(Arabic Region) and I am using it in India right now. I have not yet received the JB update for the phone.
I was able to find the OTA files for the JB Update to the One S for the Arabic Region here -
splanet.info/
My CID is HTC_J15 as given by the CID Getter app.
I booted into the bootloader and got the following information -
***Locked***
VilleC2 PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.09.0001
RADIO-16.05.20.24_M
OpenDSP-v05.6.0.2226.00.0418
eMMC-boot
May 10 2012, 17:19:49
This was followed by the HBoot, FastBoot, Recovery. Factory Rset, SIMLock, Image CRC and Show BarCode options.
Can you guide me as to how I can install the JB update?
Please bear with me as I am a noob.
Thanks.

Hi! First of all I would like to thank everyone that helped me to get that update via OTA successfully. Now I'm running debranded Android 4.2.2 Sense 5 and I would like to share with you this clear TWRP Backup of freshly installed ROM. All I did to this I made a factory reset before making a backup. I made a backup with TWRP 2.6.3.0 (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-k2_ul.img). The backed up partitions are: Boot, Data and System.

afterwards dont forget to flash back twrp recovery:

You can also flash the firmware.zip by changing it name to PL80IMG.zip and placing it on your sd card. Then avoiding the adb and fastboot this time just reboot to bootloader (just reboot the device by pressing power and selecting Restart and just after screen turns off hold the VOL- button until the bootloader appears), then it would search for the file you placed on sd card. When it'll find it it will ask you for flash - confirm by pressing VOL+, then after it completes - POWER to reboot.
If you want, i can put it on my dev-host or androidfilehost account.

Missing language
Yesterday I tried to install this backup. The update process was without any problems but I had the noisy voice. So I went back to Saturn III.
I have seen there is a firmware.zip. Can I use TWRP to install? Or how must this be done???
Another problem was/ is that I couldn't select the right language: I have found "Deutsch (Belgien)" etc but there was no "Deutsch (Deutschland)".
@ old.splatterhand
I believe you have tried this ROM. Which one did you used?
Yes, i tried it. When i remember right, i used Deutschland (United Kingdom).
There popped up various variants to flash the firmware files, but as i didn't i can't give any guide or helping hand at this point.
I will wait, 'til the OTA for my phone is coming, so i will be sure, that i have the correct file (with correct language) for flashing.

I made a restore with your file and flashed the given firmware with bootloader. It did Not fix my sound problem. Do I need to be s-off to make it work?

Radio haven't changed...? Weird. Maybe this is because of S-ON and you have different CID than listed in android-info.txt, which prevents the flash. I was doing it being S-OFF. I have no idea.

Loading failure...? Interesting. Did you tried restoring it with TWRP that I have? ( http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/k2_ul/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-k2_ul.img ) -- you don't have to flash it, if you don't want to - just place it where you have fastboot on your PC and do fastboot boot [file name here]
Ok. I change recovery and restore work's but I can't load firmware it shows bad Cid in bootloader. I try both via fastboot and PL80... file. So I must change Cid becouse without this I have noise problem while calling. Is it correct route ?

To be honest... @old.splatterhand said somewhere that it's not a firmware.zip related bug, but it's somewhere inside system files. So propably, when you'll restore from my backup, you should have everything working. Propably. I'm not sure about it, because I haven't tested it myself. And I'm S-OFF so it makes another difference.
Bluetooth was not firmware, noisy problem i think it is.
@marceli-szpak
Yes, change your cid otherwise it will fail.

To be honest - Before ICS downgrade and making updates via OTA on different CID, I've updated bootloader with firmware.zip (the radio version has changed and stuff) and then flashed the odexed 4.2.2 ROM via TWRP and the noisy calls were still there.

[HTC ONE SV K2UL] Don't work properly

Hi everyone! Have a big problem with wife's HTC ONE SV K2UL. In the start he has official last ROM with no root, s-off and other things. In one fine day he starts work with a tons of lag's, restarts after boot and write message about “System force close”. I read many post's here and other forum and try to upgrade to custom firmware. Yes, of course I do unlock and flash TWPR, can't s-off cos don't have stable working firmware, try to write SuperSId, but w/o root it didn't work. Then I try different rom's: viper, simple etc (yes, I flash with "fastboot flash boot boot.img", cos S-ON) But every time have the same problem with lags and restarts. Try to flash RUU, but have errors: "12 signature verify fail", when boot lock and "99 signature failed" when tempered or unlock. In the end I try to use SimpleRom v4 with mod f2fs. It's starts, but haven't root, say that he lost binaries. Try to CHMOD 755 System folder, use TWPR to flash different *.zip with SuperSU and SuperUser, but the path /system/bin/su /system/bin/.ext/.su /system/xbin/su are empry anyway.
Now have: Unlock (TEMPERED), TWRP 2.7.1.1 (f2fs), HBOOT 2.00, S-ON, NO supercid, SimpleROM v4 + f2fs, NO root.
It's also restarts and don't work properly. What method's I can try to restore my fully worked HTC One SV.
P.s Sorry for my bad Eng and thx a lot for helping.
I would try a stock rom first!
SimpleROM is highly modded. Give this one a try. Moonshine S-off should also work with it.
To think about other steps we need more information.
Connect your phone with fastboot and type into the cmd:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
Put the output here (except your IMEI & Serial number)
And maby explain your restart (after reboot?) issue a bit more detailed.

Yes, flash it and see how it works. If your problems are still there, you should try moonshine to get S-off. Then you should be able to downgrade hboot and run the RUU.
After installation official rom from link I have message:
"Setup isnt't responding. Do you want to close it?"
"Process system isn't responding. "
After boot, when I try to move circle for unlock phone, i see green HTC on white and after some second's it's restarts. Can't do anything.
P.s Lock screen also be on black pole (
Never had such message.
Have ypu done already the update to 4.2.2?
I would try another rom to noot, but if all get such problems, i think it is the phone itself.
Usually the roms which are released, don't have such big problems and if they really have, devs are working on a solution.
Hi there!
Any news related to the problem? I have exactly the same problem (problem show up after doing factory reset, before that almost a year past by using it with absolutely no problems, of course didnt perform factory reset before, rom was stock 4.1.2, CID htc_032)HTC one SV k2ul stuck at htc logo, able to enter bootloader, unlocked at HTCdev, flash TWRP, tryed several roms (flash over recovery, flash boot.img with fastboot, wipe cash...cose I am S-on). First time it boot up OK (everything is working), but after turning it off, and power it back on, it stuck at lock screen. When unlock it show white htc screen, and after a while show "system not responding.......". Sometimes factory reset over recovery bring the phone up, working normaly (sometimes), but if no luck with factory reset, only thing is flash again rom and it work...until next reboot (what is needed for S-off). Im on k2ul_JB_2.14.401.6_stock_odexed_03_06_13 , and I have tryed Saturn III v1.20 (after first boot all OK, day after mobile data not working, boot problem same like rom mentioned before) and k2ul_4.2.2_3.11.401.1_stock_odexed_v3 (booting problem less expressed, booting normaly after "power down" with power button, stuck only after rebooting from adb, sound while calling heavily distorted....).
So, any idea what went terribly wrong after factory reset??? Why the system is not responding after reboot (what is blocking it, or where is gone???) And, how to fix distorted in call sound on 4.2.2. rom with S-on, and no superCID?
Please help me get my HTC working normally!
thx in advance
To update firmware to the newest do the following:
- relock your bootloader
- download this http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_K2_UL_JB4...2.14.401.6_release_338297mseg08soslxcubit.zip and extract firmware.zip to your pc.
- rename firmware.zip to PL80IMG.zip and copy to your ext sdcard
- boot to bootloader and confirm to flash with vol+
- reboot to fastboot mode and unlock your bootloader (usually you can use the unlock token from first time)
After firmware has flashed, you have no TWRP anymore and your old rom will not boot.
So, best is to download a 4.2.2 rom for your device and copy to you sdcard before.
And also grab the latest (!) TWRP from my index thread, because you need to flash this right after firmware in fastboot mode.
Hi there!
First, thank you for your answer!
so, I have to:
-relock bootloader (enter bootloader, fastboot, open adb, fastboot oem lock)
-extract firmware, rename to PL80IMG.zip, put on sd, reboot to bootloader (I have try once to downgrade hboot with PL80IMG, but it didnt ask vol+ to confirm, blue vertical bar in right corner filled up and bootloader starts, is that OK, or not, I mean, not asking vol+ to confirm?)
-unlock bootloader, flash TWRP recovery
-go in recovery (perform any wipe?), install from sd (perform any wipe after install finish?)
-what after instaling rom from recovery? I am S-on, do I need to take out of rom boot.img file, go to fastboot, and flash again boot.img?
thx in advance

-extract firmware, rename to PL80IMG.zip, put on sd, reboot to bootloader (I have try once to downgrade hboot with PL80IMG, but it didnt ask vol+ to confirm, blue vertical bar in right corner filled up and bootloader starts, is that OK, or not, I mean, not asking vol+ to confirm?) Downgrade hboot is not possible with S-on, maybe that was the reason. Usually it asks to confirm, but if not it should be ok also. It is no modded file, it is firmware by HTC.
-unlock bootloader, flash TWRP recovery
-go in recovery (perform any wipe?), install from sd (perform any wipe after install finish?) Only wipe before, not after. A backup before the wipe does not hurt also.
-what after instaling rom from recovery? I am S-on, do I need to take out of rom boot.img file, go to fastboot, and flash again boot.img? The boot.img is inside the firmware.zip. It depends on the updater script of the rom you are using. Some wipe the partition with boot.img, some not. Try first without, if phone does not boot, flash boot.img.

All depends that you have an k2ul and the cid matches the android-info.txt inside of firmware.zip!
Hi,
right after flashing PL80IMG you provided everything start to work ok :good: ! Even rom that was currently on (4.1.2) reboots ok (didnt stuck like before). But, no matter what, I carried out all steps from previous post, an I am now on 4.2.2, and all is so far running great (try to reboot several times, with power button, from fastboot, from recovery, factory reset... didn stuck at htc screen at all, and no distorted sound during calls)! Thank You so much!!!
Any way, even "so far so good", I wonder, what was wrong? Why everything crashed last time after factory reser (on stock, no root, locked)?
I guess there is no way to get superCID on 4.2.2? What about S-off?
Thank you very much on provided link! :good:
Great news. Happy to help!
What was wrong, hard to tell, if we don't have your device here.
You can get S-off with http://rumrunner.us then Supercid.

It is important to use the firmware from the OTA update with the rom version, means: if you want to use a 4.2.2 rom, you need the firmware from 4.2.2.
If you want to use a 4.1.2 rom you need the firmware. So please don't mix that.
Have you already done (some time ago) the OTA update to 4.2.2?
I would be no surprise, if you use 4.2.2 rom on 4.1.2 firmware and you get errors.

Hi there,
so now i have managed some how (I don`t know how) to brick my one sv. I was moving TWRP folder with backup files from PC to phone internal storage, got ext4 error, and phone just died... no lights on charge, no bootloader, nothing.......
When I reconnect USB it is detected as QHSUSB_DLOAD device, so that indicates that there is no more bootloader... I was reading that this is fixable (without jtag box), there was explanations how to do it for sensation, and M7, but there is nothing for ONE sv...
Can U help me with advice??? How to get bootloader back on rolling???
THX in advance!!!
Sorry, no idea. If you have guides for other phones you should look there, i guess.
