Hey, i noticed on the GS3 forum that there is a really nice AOSP camera app/ mod, but its a shame that it doesnt work on anything else but the GS3. i was wondering if it would be possible for someone to help out the community by porting this to other devices. Here is the app, btw.

Why port it when it works fine on other devices? As long as your on jelly bean(4.2) then it should work just paste it into your system apps and change permissions to 644 and reboot..BAM! i tested it on my cappy glide running 4.2.2 and it works fine.:victory:

Hi everybody,
Before the Nexus S, I'd the Samsung Jet, nice phone with a very good camera application, especially the panorama option.
Unfortunately, on the nexus the camera app is really simple, and I can not find a good application with panorama option.
So I've tried to install directly the camera.apk coming from the SGS2 on my phone, but it seems to be impossible :-(
Anyone knows how I can get it?!
I suppose that it's impossible to install the ROM of the SGS2 directly on the nexus that there are both Samsung's products....

You can't. The Galaxy S2 uses TouchWiz.
TouchWiz 4 needs to be ported onto the Nexus S in order for the camera to work.
This is a PURE Google device.

No. That was not ported, that was just taken from the ROM and put on here. It was just a coincidence that the launcher doesn't rely on the Framework.
All of the Samsung code apps like Phone/Contacts/Browser/Camera/etc all use code from something known as a framework. Without that framework, it won't function. And the framework is specifically designed for THAT particular phone and won't work on any other phone.
The framework is also closed source. So it becomes complicated to port. Is it doable? Yeah.
Would I count on a dev to port it and make it fully working and fast? No.
If you dislike the stock camera, look for alternatives. MIUI Camera (apart of the MIUI framework, Camera 360 (app), etc.

Hello everyone,
I have modified the stock launcher from the LG-P990 so that it would work on WVGA devices running Froyo and higher.
I have confirmed that it runs on SDK with no problems so far, and also on the Galaxy S SHW-M110S (should work on other devices as well).
Screenshots and the apk are attached.
EDIT #1: Resolved the Force Close issue when long-pressing the back button, and also modified the horizontal grid app drawer so that it would be smoother.
yes it works well...but scrolling on homescreen's its a little buggi...I mean is not smooth ...if you can do something about that.! it will be great
And how you port tha stock launcher?...I try'd the samething but it don't work...

Quick question to those out there rocking Sense 4.0 on their Sensations:
I know the Wifi-Hotspot doesn't work on any of the builds out right now, but can it still be done using the Barnacle Wifi work-around like with the first ICS ROMs?
Also, how buggy is the camera app? Does the picture-taking while in video thing work well? What about the other features?

I recent went with the CM10 rom and I dig it but I would love the stock music player from touchwiz to work. I have the APK but it wont install (obviously) and I was wondering if any of you wizards out there could lend me a hand? Also I tried CM10.1 and also I dig it but it wont go into dock mode when I put it in my samsung desktop dock, why?
As far as I know, the Touchwiz Music app relies on on Touchwiz framework, which means it simply can't be used on CM10.1. As for the dock issue, I think that's just a bug with CM10.1 which has yet to be fixed. You might prefer a Touchwiz ROM which likely won't have these issues; check here.
as the name says s4.s5 touchwiz for s2p can we do that?
i mean there are a lot of ports of apps from touchwiz roms, but i couldn't find any from s4 or s5,
(seclauncher3, accuweather 2013 or 2014) that works on cm11,
only works some port it's called note 3 launcher(but its seclauncher2 and 3 accuweather apps and services i think old ones).
so i want people to help me to make look like touchwiz rom or port but i think that is impossible to port touchwiz rom from s4/s5 (not with all the features/bloatware.)
i really like cm11 but i would like dialer, messaging, camera, settings etc etc. i saw on here but on i9000 section Touchwiz Fusion Rom,
so that gave me idea but i only found launcher that works and thats not even the newest launcher form touchwiz..

Must be possible, i know s5 rom is ported to s3 mini.
If it works there it should work in our phone cause our hardware is stronger.
