[Q] Q Help with memory - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I have been trying different roms and loading apps at the same time. Half the apps have disappeared even after restoring them with Titanium but the URGENT question is how to clean up my memory? (BTW) Whats the difference between sd card and ext sd card?
Thanks for the help.

Obviously SD card refers to the internal memory and ext(ernal) SD card is basically the Micro SD card storage it is the smartphone version of internal and external hard drive. You will have to delete the backup apps to free up memory located in the Titanium Backup folder. all in all it is the same as what you would do on your laptop or desktop.

[Q] Will I have problems if I change SD card?

I'm running MiniCM6 1.0.0 on my Xperia X8 with Apps2SD working. I have moved many apps from the phone to the SD card. The problem is that the card's size is too small for me. I need a 4GB one. I've seen many threads that some guys had problems when changing SD cards.
If I copy all the files in my current SD card and transfer them to the new one, will I have any problems? My apps will still be there, right?

You don't say whether the apps on the SD card are in the FAT32 partition or in the SD-EXT partition.
The FAT32 area can be read and copied using a PC.
Should be able to backup the NAND and EXT in recovery. (My phone is a G1 but I've used CM roms for most of the past year. The backups created in recovery are available on the FAT32.)
Always make a good backup in recovery. When you try the transfer to the larger card, you can always go back if something didn't work quite right..
Sorry but I'm not familiar with these concepts, I'm still a noob
Can't I just copy the files of my old SD card to my PC and then transfer them to the new SD card?
How did the change of SD Card go?
Im about to do the same thing and was wondering i its possible to copy all contet from current SD Card to my PC and then copy it to the new SD Card.

[Q] backup problem :(

hey , i have a p3100 rooted with CWM 5.5.0.4 and running CM9 RC2 and i just tried doing a full backup and it comes up with, "error while making backup of /data/
does that mean its not backing up app data or system data or both?, and how bad can this be, can i still recover from a backup thats failed the data backup?
thanks in advanced
It could be due to lack of space.
As i know cwm version 5 backup all the data in internal sd card to external sd card so if you put a lot of data as apps and pics and videos in internal sd card and had small size or low space in external sd card or near filled external sd card this error could occur as not enough space for data of internal sd card to be backup in external sd card
Solutions :
1-move as much data as pics and videos etc from internal sd card to computer for example before backup
3-free as much space from external sd card to have a free space that can accomodate the backup
3-or buy a new big size external sd card and leave space enough in it for backup

[Q] Apps to SD after root

Hello, noobie here.
I successfully rooted my Verizon Galaxy S 3 after much research and worry.
I have backed everything up using Titanium Pro and used the app to SD function in TP to move apps to ext SD card.
When I check my internal / system memory it still shows the same amount of memory being used even tho the SD card shows all apps have been moved.
My question is;
Why didn't the apps get removed from internal memory when I moved them to the external SD card and should I just delete them from internal memory?
Thanks, Glenron

Low storage help

I have a One A9 running stock Android 7 original ROM. I am getting the low storage warning as I have used 15.5 out of 16gb.
I have installed a 32gb SD card and planned on formatting this as internal. I tried this but then noticed I cannot see the SD card when pluged into my laptop. It was only showing the internal with capacity of 16GB, not the 16+32gb as I had hoped.
I then formatted it back to portable and planned to move certain apps to SD. But in App settings, not a single app can be moved to the SD.
So I am stuck now. Anyone know how I can view the additional storage on my laptop if I format the SD as internal??
Or if that is not possible, how do I move apps to SD?
Anyone able to assist?

afaik, you can only move apps to the sd card when its formatted as internal storage, not portable.. Pre-installed apps can't be moved to the sd card.

Did you moved/migrated your files to the sd card after formatted as internal?

This is what I tried doing. When I connected the phone to my laptop via USB, windows explorer could not see the SD card. All it showed was the original internal memory.

maybe because you didn't migrated your existing data from your internal memory to the sd card ? When using the sd card as the internal memory you'll only see the sd card from your computer (I'm assuming the opposite is also true), read the help page linked above.

You should read this thread about moving apps to external storage:
Unable to move Apps to SD Card Samsung A20 on Android 10.
New phone and new SD. I just added an SD card to my A20. I formatted the SD. I have transferred files (varying types - videos, images, pdf, etc) to the SD. I can see the files if I connect the phone to my laptop. (My point here is that I'm pretty sure the SD card is OK.) Now I'm trying to move...

Sorry if it's not the answer you were looking for.
It's not a good idea; the SD card access speeds/transfer rates are slower than internal memory. The data buses don't support the speeds that given to internal memory.
Use internal memory for the OS, apps and the temporary download folder
The SD card as a data drive; all critical data, backups, movies, music etc go here.
Backup the SD card at least to 2 hdds that are physically and electronically isolated from each other.
Use a fast SD card for best results.
