Unroot will remove "This build is for development purpose only" warning msg? And show locked in hboot?
Sent from my HTC Butterfly using xda premium

No. It will show relocked. Unless we get S-off there is no changing this dev unlock flag.

Can you enter bootloader and use fastboot commands?
If you can , use this fastboot command in cmd window "fastboot getvar all" and paste here all stuff you get on that screen.

Got it fixed by unlocking the bootloader and flashing a different RUU.
This is what i did that caused problems.
unrooted with supersu.
locked bootloader from fastboot
rebooted to fastboot
flashed this zip file. -> unable to flash
flashed stock recovery - ok
flashed zip file - unable to flash.
reboot phone - stuck in bootloop.
flashed boot.img - ok
tried flashing zip again - problem
fixed it by
went to htc and unlocked bootloader.
flashed twrp.
flashed a different .img from TW region.
back to life.
my guess is something about this zip file that's not working as it's supposed to.

So i dont know what happend, i succesfully make my hox S-OFF, use the phone and everything was working fine, then a try to downgrade my bootloader with Jet but everything went wrong from there, the process didnt finish, i try to relocked my bootloader to install the 2.20 RUU thinking it would fix it but know the RUU procesos finishes with a 131 error because my cid is diferent, this is what i have:

You really didn't need to downgrade being you were s-off.............

Did you try this command to unbrick?: sudo ./jet -u
Edit: hmm just noticed your cid changed to stock. Sorry idk where to go from there

Did you try the hardware key way? Same as bootloader, but power and vol +
Practically gave myself a heart attack yesterday. Someone here was having trouble getting into bootloader, and mentioned power and vol +. I couldn't remember what that did (knew it wasn't bootloader) so I did it, and put the phone in Qualcomm download mode!
I was able to get back to bootloader, recovery, and reflashed the ROM that happened to be on my phone.
No. What I meant was your cid isn't supercid anymore. And I wouldn't use that RUU since your hboot is 1.14; wait till someone more experienced helps you out

I've actually never used JET, and not quite sure how it works.
But power and vol + will put the phone in QHSUSB_DLOAD in most situations (nothing to do with JET), if that is all you are trying to do. Similar to how power and vol - boots into bootloader. Just curious if it would still worked in your "bricked" condition.
Are you able to get into fastboot? If so just use stock RUU to get back to stock,
thats the thing, i can get in to fastboot, try to run the 2.20 RUU starts and maybe 1 minute later it fails, and gives a ERROR [131] i google it and it seems to be because the cid its not the correct one anyone knows if there its a way to bypass the cid verification?

download a ROM.. put it in your fastboot folder,
boot into fastboot and try this
fastboot flash zip name_of_rom.zip <-- this works with HTC RUUs, may work with an actual ROM.. Use at your own risk, I have never tried it with a custom ROM.

You can try to find the cidnum for the htc onexl and see if you can trick it by editing android-info.txt file to match cid num.
Example:

[Q] Any possible way for me to successfully flash an RUU?

here's what i did so far
factory reset on clockworkmod
phone will no longer boot
find out only solution is to flash stock ruu through fastboot
right ruu for my hboot and carrier not available
i have roger001 and hboot 1.13 bought from canada fido
i find out i can supercid to install ruu's from other countries
supercid procedure requires me to gain access to sd
i cannot access it (usb debugging not enabled im guessing, a i cant enable it because phone stuck in bootloop)
so now i cannot supercid
so i can not install any ruu without errors
i somehow broke clockworkmod cant get into it either
i need a way to install an ruu by just using the adp fastboot usb
help.... im kind of desperate
Seriously? Not even a single reply? Does that mean that there's absolutely nothing I can do? Give me SOME feedback please.
Can't you just fastboot flash a recovery, boot said recovery, mount usb storage in recovery and put a rom, and then flash that rom? Probably should clear data and system before flashing...

Should I click Format? I didn't want to act too hasty.
edit: ok i formatted it, now im in the process of finding a rom, any suggestions?

[Q] my phone is stuck at HTC logo

Hi all,
Please help. Currently my phone is stuck at HTC logo. Last week, I've upgraded my phone to 4.2.2 and Sense 5 via OTA. I have never root and S-OFF. Sense 5 was not ok for me. The font is hard to read and keyboard is hard to type. I love original Sense 4+ that came with my phone. So I tried to downgrade it. Without knowing what is S-OFF and HBOOT (now I knew), it stuck at HTC logo and won't go anywhere. I tried to flash stock ROM also custom ROM back but no hope.
this is the step I've done.

Hi daorderdillon,
Thanks for your answer. I've done as you told.
- unlock the bootloader (fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin)
- flash a custom recovery (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img - I used TWRP 2.6.3.0 as recovery.img)
- look for the stock sense 4 rom (I used the first ROM from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2157029)
- flash via adb (fastboot oem rebootRUU --> fastboot flash zip PL99IMG.zip)
It still stuck at HTC logo.
Second tried, I copied PL99IMG.zip to SD card then boot into HBOOT mode and let it install. Nothing change, still stuck.
Third tried, I installed ROM via TWRP menu and again, same error.
Could you please guide me which step I missed?
Thanks in advance.
Dear All !!!
My phone is back! Very very happy!
To share with the one who have the same problem, this is what I did.
- flash CWM recovery
- following this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185799
- flash boot.img
- enter recovery mode
- install kernel_wwe.zip
.- restart your phone
- factory reset
- that's all
I would like to say thank you to all of you that try to help me.
it2007me Without you thread, my phone still brick.
daorderdillon, for your prompt support and gave me a caution.
CWM and TWRP teams for your great tool.

It is possible that you have problems with partitions.
Before unblocking, do order using RUU.
Have you tried to install fresh ROM by RUU?
Have you read this post for example?

TWRP not installing

I recently unlocked my T-Mobile HTC U11 and I'm trying to flash TWRP recovery on it. However, when I enter the command "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1.img", command prompt gives me an error "FAILED (remote: Not allowed on PRODUCTION device)." My Fastboot screen shows me:
FastBoot
Product name - QC_Reference_Phone
Variant - MSM UFS
Bootloader version -
Baseband version -
SECURE BOOT - PRODUCTION
SECURE STATE - S-ON
DEVICE STATE - UNLOCKED (U)
***Software status: Official ***
Any Help would be appreciated

I haven't unlocked yet, but did you try and use htc_fastboot.exe instead or vanilla fastboot? Not sure if it is required or not.

Well this is my first HTC phone so I'm not exactly sure what htc_fastboot.exe is but if I find a link or something I will check that out. Thanks :good:
Did you unlock the boot loader from htcdev with the code that they emailed you with? If the boot loader is locked it will reject the twrp flash.

I tried that and it did install correctly but now when I go to Reboot to Recovery, it says " Your device can't be check for corruption. Please lock the bootloader" and proceeds to reboot my phone. I tried to lock my bootloader with fastboot but when I type "fastboot oem lock" it gives an error saying "Failed (remote: unknown command)"

Check MD5 of twrp-3.1.1-0-ocn.img. Should be 925ebc3f6416dd8ac7b509670ca26095.

When booting to TWRP use bootloader mode(does not install TRWP on Device), Installing TRWP requires Download Mode(replaces stock recovery with TWRP).

Ok, I understand.
So do I need to backup the stock recovery first before change it to TWRP recovery. If yes how to backup?

Ok. It's done. Thx alot.
Another question I want to ask. Why before I install the TWRP Recovery, when I go to recovery, the screen only shows Red Phone with Cross?

It has been a long time since I have seen that, but I do believe that is what the stock recovery looks like.
