HTC J Butterfly (HTL21) Japan - Splash Screens - HTC Butterfly

If any of you want to change your splash screen, it's pretty easy. I just followed this guide. Please give TrueBlue_Drew thanks.
Requirements:
Unlocked
Rooted
S-OFF
This might work for other Butterfly devices as well, but I'm not 100% sure.
As a test, I found a random splash screen, resized it to 1080x1920, converted and flashed it using EZ Splash Screen Flasher, and bam, changed splash screen. The htc development message is still there, though.
Here are some images I used:
HTC Anime Girl
Hero Droids
The above images were found in the guide I linked above, so original credit goes to whoever provided those images. I'd be happy to credit them here if I find who they are.
If you don't want to go through the process of creating your own splash screen, you can download the attached zips with the img file inside, put the img file somewhere you can use the fastboot command. You'll need to put your phone in fastboot and use the command
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splash.img
Then, just reboot and you should see the change right away.

Thanks
Thanks it has worked for me...!

hi
I checked that thread and question I have.
How to create 1080x1920 image by SplashFlasher_1.0??
thanks

not allowed
I'm S-OFF and unlocked, but I get an error flashing splash1:
sending 'splash1' (4050 KB)... OKAY
writing 'splash1'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)
Anyone an idea?

UPDATE: You just need to rename the ****PC36IMG.zip to just PC36IMG.zip and then push to the root of your sdcard and boot into Hboot and it will flash.

I figured I would start the thread with the splash screens I make and I would love to do any requests for people. Just post an image that you want me to create into a splash screen or tell me what you want and I'll see if I can do it. I'm not very good in paint.net or photoshop yet but I can try my best (or have my adobe certified brother do it for me lol)
Anyway, here is the link to the archive and the batch file inside flashes the image for you. If anyone who knows how wants to create a pc36img zip for it, you're welcome to and I'll add it to the main post.

HTC and CIQ Quietly watching you.
This is the second splash screen that I made and since I remember the CIQ issues everyone has, I figured I would take a shot at it.
Same thing as before, just use the batch script until I figure out how to make a PC36IMG.zip

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iphone Joke
same rules as above for flashing. Just unzip folder and run the batch file.

update: here is the PC36IMG.zip file for it remove the Iphone from the name.

Warm Synergy
Alright, for the auto-flashing without manually going into bootloader, follow the same instructions as before
for flashing to via bootloader name "warmPC36IMG.zip" to PC36IMG.zip and boot into bootloader and it will automatically flash.
Download for normal zip to flash automatically: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15069134/Warm Synergy.zip
Download for PC36IMG: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15069134/warmPC36IMG.zip
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shooter Rom
Same way to install as above

PC36IMG install: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15069134/ShotPC36IMG.zip
Here is the Android Sauce one. Did not try to flash it myself, but should work fine. Obviously just rename to PC36IMG.zip and flash through bootloader.
Thanks for posting that, I'll try flashing it
No problem, let me know.
Worked fine and I just found out that I only had to change the name to Splash1.img
I am a noob at this stuff but I just used the tutorial here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146515 so not sure if it's as easy as just renaming the image.
Awesome! I remember when i first tried doing this it almost bricked my phone hehe

AP Fastboot Not Restoring to 2.3.5.

Hey gang,
Brand new problem that has me a little perplexed. I have been using the 'Returntosctock2.3.5.script' that has been posted in a previous thread, and restoring to 2.3.5. via AP Fastboot along with the Stock Restore .bat file, but now that is not working. It is now showing that after running the script, it goes through its steps but then says:
...
sending 'mbmloader' <39 KB>... FAILED <command write failed <no such file or directory>>
sending 'mbm' <256 KB>... FAILED <command write failed <no such file or directory>>
rebooting into bootloader... FAILED <command write failed <no such file or directory>>
sending 'cdt.bin' <16 KB>... FAILED <command write failed <no such file or directory>>

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now, after it does the rest of its business, and after the reboot, it bootloops from splash screen to boot animation and back again, continually. I tried using RSD Lite for the first time and restored 2.3.5. and without any issues. So, what's up with restoring through AP Fastboot not working but the other method does? I have restored using AP Fastboot countless times, and without any problems. I don't get it.
Damn gremlins
I for one have not used the "returntostock" script. I didn't even know it existed until now. I did use RSD lite for the first time the other day and am impressed at how quick and well it worked. Kinda stinks they don't make it compatible with Linux. Doesn't make sense really.

I was just happy that RSD worked, and worked well. Still, I'm very befuddled as to why the script method didn't yield the same results it has for me every other time I've used it. I just don't get it...

[Q] How can I fix this mytouch4g

Ok, so when I turn on the phone, it gets stuck on the HTC screen logo forever. With the volume down and power button, I'm able to get into hboot/hboot usb plug when connected to the computer. The recovery, factory reset, image crc options don't work. In my linux computer, when I type fastboot devices, I'm able to get serial number of the phone. The picture links below summarize my current state

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The commands that I've tried are below.
(command): /fastboot devices [output] SH******** fastboot -- (note: here I did get my serial number but I know better than to post it here.
(command): ./fastboot oem rebootRUU [output]... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
(command): ./fastboot flash zip PD15IMG.zip [output]: sending 'zip' (322693 KB)... FAILED (status malformed (1 bytes))
Tools in hand: android-sdk-linux, linux mint, PD15IMG.zip and phone
note: I also tried all of the above commands on windows 7 home premium 64 bit with adb installed and got the same error messages from fastboot. I tried the official htc bootloader unlocker but kept getting that error: 120 battery less than 30%.. although my battery is fully charged and that stopped the tool from unlocking the boot loader.
I read somewhere If i find the orginal stock recovery image, I might get out of this but I cannot find it anywhere yet.
Just find the stock RUU and you can revert it back to life
When you cant find it google it and for sure you will get the RUU

Phone keeps looking for the files PG58DIAG.ZIP & PG58IMG.ZIP

Hi Everyone,
Since I originally modified my Sensation (Rooting, S-Off, etc) I find that when I enter the boot menu (Volume Down + Power) I am presented with a readout regarding the files PG58DIAG.ZIP and PG58IMG.ZIP. Basically the phone tries to load PG58DIAG.ZIP, states that it cannot find it, then looks for PG58IMG.ZIP, can't find it, etc. The video below shows what I mean (please excuse the shakiness) -
Video of PG58DIAG.ZIP issue
Here is a screenshot from near the end of the attempted file loading process -

I am wondering if there is any way of stopping the process outlined above. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Davo

This is normal

bootloader scans everytime for any of these files
there is no problem at all
android1234567 (very good developer) explained it to me like this:
The PG58 stuff you seen in bootloader mode appear because you have an SD card inserted; the bootloader was just checking your SD card to see if it had a bootloader-update package in it.

[Splash] Android Master Race

Made a couple of simple splash screens, since the last time I could, the G1 was the best phone on the market. I might as well share them.
Instructions:
Boot your device into fastboot
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Start RUU Flash mode
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Flash the custom splash screen
Code:
fastboot flash zip splash.zip
Make sure that there are no error messages when flashing
Reboot your device and enjoy your new splash screen.
Code:
fastboot reboot

Can you please post a stock splash screen as I have to return my M8 for warranty repair? TIA
I don't have the stock splash, but this one should be close enough.
are there any special instructions for MAKING a splash screen, i edited a 1080x1920 img with my name on it, is there any format i need to convert the image to, or just renaming it would do it?
ive looked all over the forums for how to do this for the m8 and nobody seems to give instructions on how to make a splash screen for it, they only provide their own splash.

The image needs to be in rgb565 format. Then you can replace the splash1.nb0 in a zip with the image you made.

I created one with the m7 splash creator, then opened your zip, deleted yours, added mine, renamed it splash1.nb0, and flashed it with your instructions, worked out great. Thanks a bunch.
