I flashed the JB Leak and rooted. Everything works fine except the wifi. when i put the password to my router it shows that it keeps connecting but
it never actually gets connected to the network. i dont think theres a problem with the router since all my other devices are connecting just fine. can someone help me solve this problem. 3G works fine after i put the APN settings. Not having wifi is really frustrating. please shed some light.

my internet just stopped working yesterday. i tried resetting the phone to defaults but no luck.
anyone else using rogers have an issue?
i tried my sim card in my dad's phone (some sorta new Nokia phone) and i get internet.
ok i fixed it somehow. i connected 2 Cora's wifi and i got internet. i disconnected and then tried connecting to rogers edge network and now it works..
Same thing is happening to me. There's no wifi around the area but once there is I hope your solution works.
Went to connection settings and allowed the wizard to reset the settings and now it works....
I still get the problem.
Is rogers doing something to their internet? It used to work flawlessly and now it's intermittent. I connect to Edge but if I try to update the weather, it times out and I can't see any webpages using opera. But other times it works normally.
I think Rogers must be up to something or maybe an over load on the network?
Resetting the settings did not work for me. The internet just seems to work when it wants to.
Yea it seems to be intermittent for me also, especially for the weather tab.
Opera is pretty much hit and miss too.
im having trouble connecting to wifi. my phone just hangs at obtaining ip address and then eventually fails. ive tried with many different wifi connections not just mine. all the same. Anyone else having this problem?
Yes same problem here.
It seems a general problem like the GPS.
I found out that depending of the router brand it works better (for example, no problem with a linksys).
To go arround the problem you can try this:
- go in flight mode
- activate wifi
- when you have a wifi connection (test with to browser) reactivate the phone
I hope it helps

the problem started when i flash jm5
problem solved reflashed
Is anyone having wifi problems when connecting to a wifi network using 4.1.2?on 4.1.1 and below, wifi always worked perfectly. But it has been kinda broken with every 4.1.2 rom i have tried. Am i the only one?i see a lot of people complaining about wifi issues with 4.1.2 but i see no one mentioning this on our device.
what happens with me is that the phone stays in state "obtaining ip adress" for a long time and then proceeds to properly connect. The "avoid poor connections" option is not enabled. anyone know why this is happening? Also, the signal is worse than with previous android versions!

I've had that, happens only with certain routers and never really knew why. Also happened on GB though AFAIK.

but i have the same router as before and it also happens with my university wifi(and it didnt happen on 4.1.1 and below)! Never had any issues(ever!) with GB, ICS and early JB=/. But for some reason this 4.1.2 messes my wifi.
here is a logcat i took. as you can see the wifi "stuff" begins and then stops. Only after 30 seconds or so it displays the message that the phone is now connected
This could be a rom specific problem or even simply a kernel issue.

not a rom specific problem and also not a kernel issue. Have tried several roms and many different kernels!
Had this issue. Sometimes it doesn't even detect my wifi. Had to reboot the router for it to work. I think this is android-specific on SOME routers.

i always detect wifi networks. rebooting router does not fix this. Also, it makes no sense that it is related to the router since it happens with both my home wifi and my university wifi (and with 4.1.1 and below it worked properly on both my home wifi and university).
Some change must have been made in 4.1.2 for the wifi to behave this way. Anyone can get anything from the logcat i provided?
Also, the wifi connects properly if i set static ip on my phone but i can only do that at home because i have acess to my router. Is there any way i can restore wifi files from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 to make it work properly without having to set static ip?
Same issue here

I have the same issue. Can you please let me know if you were able to solve this? If yes, then how?
Hi there
P6200 WiFi+3G
So I installed the new official release for Open Austria JB 4.1.2 but I am having a BIG annoying problem with WiFi :/
I tried to connect to my router which is WPA2/PSK secured but it just doesn't wanna connect! stuck on connecting then "saved" and nothing happens!
I've tried everything and every method:
wipe data/factory reset
re-flash
rebooting both my router and the tablet
changing my router's security to WPA,WEP and OPEN
It used to work just fine with Aorth's port of CyanogenMod 10 but I wanna use the official release!
Any help appreciated, thank you
P.S: I solved the issue by ignoring the feature and using this workaround found HERE
my wifi is working fine
maybe at one time i also had the same problem. i restarted my router and it was solved. now it is working fine.
Maybe country code is not set correctly , was a problem with me before, malaysian tab in US, search WiFix manager in PlayStore. Also wifi Connection Manager free by roamingsoft is a good app to get you connected and stay connected.
Also check your router to make sure you are on a channel that not many other people are, for less interference. Good luck. Wifi has been working without issues for me on JB.

I tried both apps but unfortunately it still doesn't wanna connect :/
I think that the only possible solution to get the wifi drivers from HC 3.2 stock rom or from any other p6200 working rom.
If someone could help me with that, I would really appreciate it
if wifispot is not visible then try to change chanel on router i had similar problem on stock ics only chanels 1-6 was visible idk
I have tried to change the channel to 11 and also changed SSID to a short one but still same results.
I have got this message too: "authentication error occurred"
The weird thing that when I made my network set to OPEN, I got this message!

I wouldn't expect everything to work for the US when you install a European ROM release like the XXMC3
I am actually from Egypt ^^
and the annoying thing when I had XXMC3 that WiFi was connecting just fine with other networks but not my own!

I too have the same problem !!!
The European version is JB is the XXMC3, .... but I'm in Italy! and the wifi does not work, and it worked perfectly with ICS.
I think the problem is similar to that of the Galaxy Note 2, but I do not know comne solve it.
I tried to do all the wipe, but nothing to do. Can anyone help me?
same problem here works with SOME routers but mostly it just says "saved, secured" or just authentication problem on open wifi
tried format / factory setting, reflash nothing works
had the same problem with 4.0.4 but it went away for some reason after a while
I have same problem

I have same problem with My Galaxy Tab P6200.
When I connect to a fine wifi : "type password -> authentication -> obtaining ip address -> Connected"
With my wifi when I typed password it's say: "saved, secured" and no wifi icon.
I have an ADSL router and connect to wifi router, wifi router like a bridge network, so DHCP in wifi router is disabled.

sounds like a UK vs US problem in the setup on your device. Try changing the wireless AP channel to channel 1 or 2 and see if that fixes it. If so, that is the problem. In UK mode, it won;t see wireless channels above 6

have experienced the same problem before, problem not with your tab but your router (something to do with router not able to automatically adjust or identify your tab after the upgrade and detecting a conflict), try going to your tab advanced wifi settings, select static i.p. address and input manually your tab i.p. hope this solves your problem
Im having the exact same problem that the OP had. Was a solution ever found, other than flashing another ROM? Id like to keep the factory JB but no wifi is a big problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How do I change the channel on my router to 2? I havent tried that yet.

Hi i am also from Egypt. I can see that no more one replying about this topic. I mean here the WIFI connectivity for the P6200 for the JB 4.1.2. Does anyone has any solution?
I found a workaround! using my PC to share its Internet connection with my tablet via USB Reverse Tethering! 100% working

Hey guys,
I'm having some issues with my Wi-Fi connectivity on my N5 and it's freaking me out! :crying:
When I'm trying to connect to my home network, the Wi-Fi icon is getting orange after some random time.
Some times it gets back to white, some times it's not.
I know its a known issue but nothing seems to fix it.
I tried everything - reboot my phone, reboot my router, reboot into safe mode, forget the network and connect again, toggle into airplane mode and back, change Wi-Fi settings to connect only to 2.4 GHz, avoid poor connections, update my router firmware.
NOTHING worked!
The only thing I haven't tried yet is factory reset but I read some people saying it didn't help them either.
Only turning Wi-Fi off and than on again makes it "white" again for some other random time.
I'm running stock everything on a rooted device with Android 4.4.4 build KTU84P.
My Wi-Fi is working great with other devices in the network including a Nexus 7 2012 and some laptops.
And it seems that my Nexus 5 is connecting fine to other Wi-Fi networks.
It worked fine in the past and I think it all went wrong when I replaced my Modem.
Any ideas what else can I try?
Do you think maybe the Lollipop update will fix this annoying issue?
Thanks!
Forgot to mention (I guess it is obvious) - I can't connect to any website or run any network connected app when I'm "orange" (I know it means I'm not connected to google services).
Tried also to change my Wi-Fi channel. still not working.
Doesn't anyone have an idea what is wrong here?
This is really frustrating ... :crying:
Well, I'm kind of talking to myself here, but in case someone else is facing this annoying issue, here is what fixed it for me eventually:
Configure a static IP to my phone in the router configurations ! :victory:
Before that, I also tried to disable Wi-Fi optimization in the phone Wi-Fi settings, buy it didn't seem to help.
