[Q] HELP, Bricked Phone stuck on Boot Loop - LG Optimus 3D

Hello,
A couple of months ago I was changing my ROMs, I had done it before and it was working as it should, it all did, I tried 2 or 3 so I could decide which one to keep. However when I went back from the ICS to the stock GB some problem occurred (yes I did use proper ICS tools for this case)
and my phone just went utterly bricked.
I cannot access the Emergency mode, neither plugging without battery or with. As soon as the LG screen comes up my phone resets, therefore my Laptop is unable to recognize it.
All my knowledge in this has reached top lol, I do not know how to proceed, this is where I require any help.

when you reflashed you device did you wipe the previous ROM? you need to wipe the old rom before reflashing, because when you reflash the ROM it does not erase the previous one you have. try wiping the old ROM...imho c",?
My lg optimus bricked as well
I have bricked my LG optimus p500. I am able to get into emergency mode by pressing search + vol down.
I am not sure what is emergency download mode and what are the key combinations to get into it. What should I do next. I have KDZ updater available with me but its not helping.
It says: "PHONE not found"
I'm stuck in fastboot on boot. Fastboot commands works on the phone but since it doesnt detect my sd card i can't flash or do anything. And i'm a noob when it comes to the commands in fastboot and adb... but gimme a shout if you've got a hint to my salvation

am with you
After days of living a double life
I downloaded the LG KDZ UPDATER but needed to find instructions on using after hours of failed attempts and came across a forum here that spoke of english version of the KDZ UPDATER that does not need windows enabler and that saved my phone.
Visit LG, download and install all the drivers offered for your model first. Then you will need to find the kdz updater file for your phone I could only find the one for the opt p500 and I have a p509 but used it anyway and boy was I happy to see the phone shut down and show the battery charging animation. I still had to do a factory reset afterwards because the phone kept getting stuck at the android screen. So the phone booted and I noticed there were some limitations like not being able to install apps because the phone would not acknowledge the apps on my SD CARD and I could not get a network connection to save my life.
I used the updater software for my phone that I downloaded from LG and did a software update and were back in business. I missed my baby. All of the essentials besides the LG software came from reading the forums here which I am so happy, thankful and greatfull for. Thanks to every one who posted what little progress they were making step by step. If your phone is stuck at the LG logo and you don't know by now, pressing and holding down the up volume, back and power keys while phone is off will put your phone in emergency mode. the drivers for your device will recognize your phone in emergency mode. I did not provide any links to make it that easy for you because my struggle gave me more knowledge than I was looking for but was much needed. Good Luck to all. I am know optimistic about doing additional mods to my device due to my faith in this recovery from a brick. I immediately came here minutes after my success to help and give thanx. I really appreciate the fact I did not have to talk or go to my carrier about this.

I guess I screwed up some obvious thing and now the phone is stuck on the LG logo when ever I turn on, may be the continuous boot loop. When I connect it to PC, nothing is detected. Searched all over web and couldn't find any help except for this thread.
Btw, I tried holding down the buttons to see if it goes into recovery. does nothing.
Can some one please help me!!!

Finally, out of the dumps. Followed this thread's first post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314
( and the links in the thread to get the KDZ updater and the stock rom download from LG) to the word, including all the shaking. Got into the emergency mode, used the KDZ updater to install the ROM, (had to shake the phone until the updater detected it, ) and have the phone back and running.
For the rom downloads, none of the US T-mobile roms are available for download. I downloaded the Australian rom. follow the links in the post carefully, its all there.

you can find all the codes for different country specific LG ROMS and also how to download the file. USA files were not available so I downloaded Australian ROM. works great. much lesser bloatware than our T-mobile.

I've tried this but it is confusing as all heck. I don't know the exact firmware version I'm looking for in the weblink. Urgh I'm getting frustrated and I have a lot of patience for these kind of things, lol.
I found this. This the correct Australian one? Assuming I need to be looking for an LGP500 file?

OK, glad to know I'm getting somewhere. Downloaded that kdz, phone is on EMERGENCY MODE, but now trying like crazy to have it detected by the KDZ updater.
shaking is the only way. i had to shake it and restart updater half a dozen times before finally got it to detect the phone. its a test of patience. after it is detected, take it easy and let it do its thing. takes a while for the phone to boot up for the first time.

No luck at all. The KDZ uploader refuses to recognize the phone. I've been shaking my life away with no darn luck. I even tried booting Windows 7 into Safe Mode in hopes of this helping; nothing was accomplished.

I may be more inexperienced than yourself, but I'm sure anyone trying is a relief. Are you stock or rooted? What are you running? That all makes a difference. If you're on stock Froyo and don't want to root, I'd suggest getting it upgraded to Gingerbread ASAP, at the very least. Have you tried to do a complete data wipe and restore to stock? That's scary if you have a lot of stuff stored on the phone, but you can back it all up (there's threads giving instructions how). If you're rooted, how about trying a different rom?
I'm sorry if none of these suggestions help, but your answers will probably help the more experienced members help you, at the very least.
I flashed numerous ROMS. For some reason it bricked and when i used gtg's unbrick it unbricked it but phone is now running super slow and the bottons dont work. I did all the recovery options but still nothing.

[Q] BIG problem after upgrading to V30a

Hello everyone,
I am having a big problem after upgrading to official V30a.When I open the phone it says ''unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped'' every 3 minutes or so.
That means that my signal is lost and I can't do anything because that thing keeps popping up.Please help me because I am starting to freak out. After 6 hours of googling it I cannot find a solution.I tried everything.
Factory reset, another sim, rebooting, even some odd tricks like changing date or clearing contact data which worked for some guys. Before that I had 2.3.5 stock.
Also I live in Greece if that matters and I updated via the official LG update tool twice(the one was the emergency recovery which didn't solve my problem either).
What is more I am a complete noob regarding the ics and any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated. In case it is needed I am running windows 7 64bit and everything(firewall, antivirus, etc) was turned off while I did the update.
P.s Please excuse my poor knowledge of english. As I wrote above I am from Greece.
Best wishes to everyone who makes the moil(or labour I don't know which is the right one) to read all this

Sounds like a bad flash perhaps. Double check driver install and reflash. Don't worry, it can be fixed as long as you don't hit it with a hammer Try my tutorial in dev section if you want.
Greece is a good place for Optimus 3D, btw

Thank you very much for the immediate reply.I haven't slept all night.
I have tried several times to uninstall and reinstall both the drivers and the support tool and now my phone is bricked(it doesn't open at all) since the last time when it tried to flash and stopped at 20% due to a connection problem between the pc and the phone as it wrote which can't be the case because I had double checked everything and the battery was full.
Could you please help me?I was thinking to try the Great's XBSALL's ressurection guide but I only have windows 7 64 bit and I don't know anyone with xp:/Will it work?If yes, should I do anything different than what is described in the tutorial? Thanks again

My guide uses LG Flash Tool. Also you have to run the setup before trying to use it. If flashing stopped at 20% something is probably wrong with driver setup or the .bin is corrupt (I'm not sure exactly what you did or used but it sounds like an incomplete flash). If you use my guide start over, follow it exactly, and use only the files linked. I have Win 7 x64.
Fastboot could possibly help, but you'd need to know exactly what is wrong and it's not easy to use if you don't understand command lines.

Anyway thank you very much again.I am going to post the results once I am done. There's got to be something wrong with my pc(God damn Dell) so I am going to borrow another and try again. Now that I know the process thanks to you and mr.Karim Kahale it is very easyHave a nice evening or whatever it is in your country!
Well I'm glad something worked. Basically there are ways to fix each problem, but unless something is really wrong, reflashing (i.e. starting over) usually fixes most things because it rewrites everything. It usually is not necessary but it is one thing that does work. You have a good phone because, thanks to developers here, it is unbrickable.
Next time you can get some sleep knowing it is fixable

[Q] Help! Searched for solution for hours.

My Atrix 2 is currently having some serious issues. Last night I rooted it. I changed the boot animation to what was supposed to be a human eye turned droid eye or something. When I rooted it and attempted to install Safestrap it didn't install correctly. As I am inexperienced with rooting android phones, I didn't think it'd hurt. I don't know if it did. When I rebooted to see the animation it just said android in silver letters with light flashing across it and it never got past that. I did several hard resets to see if that would fix it, after trying multiple battery pulls of course, and nothing. The phone is now dead and won't charge, when I plug it in it just shows the Motorola logo and doesn't do anything, but if I unplug it the logo doesn't go away. Help, please!

Phew, that was close. Hello and welcome to the help section of the A2 forum, for starters the trouble you're facing right now is called soft bricking. It's a very common problem, but is usually solved by flashing the correct ICS sbf for your region.
So firstly, is your phone branded AT&T or is it from another region? Please specify which. Next you need to recharge your battery externally either by an external battery charger or the Mcgyver method. (search the forum for more details).
After you've charged your battery up enough, put it back in your phone and put your phone into fastboot mode by holding the volume down button + power button and make sure it says 'Battery OK'.
After making it this far, you'll need RSD lite order to flash/install the sbf files. If everything goes fine without failure, then your phone will be back to stock and you've saved it! Here's a thread that has content that should guide you with further details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245825 Good luck!

You're welcome  I'm glad it all worked out for you in the end. I still remember the time earlier this year when I just got my phone, went crazy with mods and ended up softbricking it for a whole week. Well now that you're back and rooted, if you're planning on doing any more flashing any time soon then I recommend you install boot menu manager. If you've previously installed safestrap or bootstrap, clear their data and uninstall them before installing bmm.
With that done, you've just made your phone a little safer from bricking because bmm allows multi rom booting, which are somewhat independent of the primary system. Refer to this thread for more info on how to make systems, etc.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115715
The first thing you'd want to do is make sure your apps/data is always backed up at all times with apps like titanium backup. Create 2 or more systems so that you can try the bmm compatible custom ROMs which are in the dev section if you want to try any of them. But please, read all instructions, warnings, requirements, etc. carefully before attempting any flashing in general.
The thread I posted in my earlier post above will have links to the specific custom ROMs. If you're doing any other kind of flashing, make sure to again, read instructions carefully and take your time with learning all of this.
Hi, I soft bricked my phone recently.
I was running stock ICS from Moto on a rooted Atrix 2. I wanted to upgrade it to JB so I installed Atrix 2 bootstrap and clicked Bootstrap Recovery (gave superuser permission) and then Reboot Recovery. It went into CWM and I wiped factory data and cache. Before I installed the JB zip I backed up my old ICS via CWM and then installed CyanogenMod-Dev-edison-nightly-20130401-2132-signed.591fan.com zip.
It was upgraded successfully to 4.2.2 but I couldnt get my updated contacts from the Super Recovery app, so I thought to restore the old ICS and backup the contacts once again. I installed Atrix 2 bootstarp apk again and went thought the same process ( Bootstrap recovery > gave Superuser permission > Reboot recovery). As soon as it rebooted the Motorola logo came on and after that the phone gave dark grey screen. I tried rebooting and going into CWM on startup but it didnt give the option of install zip from sd card as it did on my earlier attempt.
I am stuck with a bricked phone and all my work is stuck up.
I read about RSDlite but I have heard it causes hard bricking on several occasion. So, I am a bit cautious about using it and I dont know the exact procedure to use it also. Can you please guide me on how to regain my phone from this soft brick and where i went wrong during my installations.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

If you have bricked your D850 and need help...

I recently tried to root my D850 with 5.0.1 Of course, I botched it and it got stuck at the boot screen. I figured a factory reset (hard reset) might save the day, but it didn't. The device was not recognized by the PC and the MTP driver would not work no matter what I did. In desperation, I chatted with an LG USA rep. He said to submit a repair request, which I did. There was no mention of cost but at this point, I don't care if it does cost to fix it. They emailed me a FedEx label and I sent it off yesterday. There was another thread in which the OP sent his in to LG with pretty much the same thing happened and his device was repaired free, so I'm hoping for a free fix. Point is: I got this device from a seller on eBay and I was upfront with LG about that. Warranty or not, they seem willing to fix it for me. So, instead of beating your head against the wall trying to fix it, you might want to consider sending it to LG if you get it fixed yourself.

If its stuck at LG boot screen just put it into download mode and follow the guide... They will most likely charge you as they will see ROOTED in red when they go into download mode.

Which would PROBABLY work. But as I stated in another thread (to which I got no response), the PC is not recognizing it. And, as I stated, I don't care if they charge me or not. I just want it FIXED.

Then try another PC.
Sending to the company is a last resort type thing. Some cases people have been charged more than you can get a used one for at times.
The method in that thread is the exact way LG will be fixing your phone. (Unless they just replace your motherboard)

If that's the exact way and it works for them, GOOD! Because I tried it and several other methods and it DID NOT WORK. As the person the said in another thread, they fixed it FREE. And, if they charge me, so what? I'll have my device working properly. I don't know where you'd get one of these for under $100, but if they fail to restore it, please DO tell me as I'd sure like to know. In fact, tell me now so I can grab one for my wife.

They normally at least charge $200 + for a phone repair. . I've dealt with LG and LG phones for a good while now.
And not sure if you have ever posted in my guide asking for help.
Different methods? There's ONLY ONE method that works for the D850 which is the TOT method.
After downloading and installing the drivers , software and zipped tot, did you make sure phone was IN download mode? Did you make sure you changed your COM port to COM41?
You have to be sure your following everything step by step.
The guide is very simple. I can pretty much gurentee that if you lived nearby I'd have that phone fixed in under 20min.
I'm just stating myself and my guide has fixed 1,000s of LG phones.

Maybe so, but it didn't fix mine. See, when the PC does not see it, nothing is going to download, upload, flash. It's a moot point anyways, as it's on it's way to LG, Ft. Worth.

Wishing you the best of luck, Provide and update as to what happens.
SO the phone was in download mode when you tried? You`d look for LGEmodem under ports in device manager.
UPDATE
So, I sent my G3 into LG_Ft. Worth approximately a week-and-a-half ago for the symptoms sited at the beginning of the thread. Bear in mind, I got this phone from eBay and I told them that. I also told them that after I tried to do a Factory Reset, it locked at the LG boot screen. That's ALL I told them. No questions asked: They sent me a replacement unit. F R E E!
The invoice stated "Bad ROM flash. Replacement sent." I'm restoring from back-up now.
Same issue as OP
I have one G3 soft bricked. At first, i was be able to connect to dl mode. I tried LG Mobile Support tool to flash the phone back to stock , at the end, it failed. Now the phone not let me enter dl or recovery mode. PC not detect the phone at all. I'm using original Nokia USB cable. Tried with 3 computers, none of them detect when plugin and hold Vol up or down etc...
I want to follow TOT method but what can i do if computer not detect the phone?

I'm sure there will be others that will have you try different things, but FOR ME, I went to the LG website and chatted with a tech. He told me to send it in. Even provided a shipping label. See the original post for what took place. They shipped me a replacement phone... F R E E. Took about two weeks.

Yeah but using my back to stock guide can take about an hour depending on your connection. If connection is good then maybe 20 min.
And not all cases will be the same. There's some cases of people getting charged even just to get there phone back.

Sorry for the delay in case you didn't find out no, the method uses official lg firmwares. Which requires windows. So no way to do it on a Mac unless you use a virtual machine which is very buggy to do this with.

On the topic of bricking (and unbricking !!) the D850, I just received a D850 from ebay today. I tried hyelton's procedure
to restore a stock ROM (LGD850AT-01-V10d-310-410-JUN-19-2014+0.tot) and it failed during the download.
My D850 entered a horrible bricked state, booting with a "secure booting error" message, and then alternating with red and blue LEDs. It was impossible to enter download mode. Trying to use the default recovery to do a factory reset failed. Basically it seemed like the device was bricked.
I was a little panicky because I just received the phone earlier in the day.
I then found this amazing thread on the Sprint LG G3 forum, which describes a sort of hard reset you can do inside the phone. (kind of like an alternative download mode to transfer files to the device). This requires you to short two connections in the phone with a ~2cm piece of copper wire, so you obviously need to be comfortable disassembling your phone.

I am happy to report that this procedure worked perfectly to return my ATT D850 back to life, notably giving me download mode back, which I used following Hyelton's procedure to download a stock ROM back into the phone, which now worked fine.
I hope others can benefit from this.
