gr8 idea.. very useful

Very disappointed with this app because:
1. The code is changed every time you use it, so you cant save the code.
2. Everytime the phone is rotated, the code automatically changed, making it disconnect.
3. Its not a simple file manager, just shows all files in one list, takes the P1$$

1) It's much more secure to generate a random code every time. I am sure you can see why this is...
2) I experienced this as well, not sure why, but you can obviously avoid this by just keeping the phone in one position .
3) What were you expecting? It's something that is online on a web page, it can't really be a full featured file manager.

Nice!! I've always used File Expert it's only 1.7MB and with it you can share files across FTP, enable web sharing, but I mainly use it to access my shared network files on my Windows PC and as a general file explorer. It's regularly updated too!

Well, the developer has been in touch with me, he has put out an update that fixes the rotating problem. He has also said he will work on adding support for re-using the same code, and will put a treeview on the file manager

Access SD card from another device

This thread shows how to channel your SD card through your wireless router, therefore making your SD card accessible from most devices (tested on PC, Android and iOS). Please note that your phone and the device must be connected to the same network.
1. Download and install File Expert (it's free) from the Android Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=xcxin.filexpert&hl=en.
2. Open File Expert and press the "Share" icon at the bottom of the screen.

3. Select "Enable WEB Sharing".
The IP and authentication info will be displayed. The URL (which is located in the third line) will be entered in the address bar of the browser in the other device. The username and password will also be required so please remember it ^_^
So on my phone it says "http://192.168.1.102:8080", so I type "http://192.168.1.102:8080" in the browser of another device.
Enter the password and done! You've accessed your phone's SD card from another device.
Please note:
1. This may not work on all devices, ranging from hosting the HTTP server to accessing the SD card from another device.
2. This may not work on all browsers as they may not have the specifications required to access the HTTP server.
3. The username/password can be changed in the File Expert settings or you can COMPLETELY disable any authentication.

This would be great, if it would work on my phone. Unfortunately it didn't. I tried it on an HTC Desire powered with MIUI, and after entering the URL in a browser of another android phone (and on a desktop comp), nothing happens. It may be a setting by me tho (probably on the router?), which I didn't find yet.

I have been using this File Manager App since I got my very first android phone. I don't know why people keep buying and recommending apps that work exactly the same way (or maybe even better for File Expert's case) but cost very high. Duh.

I tested that on 2 different cyanogenmod 7 devices

This is pretty slick. The current version also offers Bluetooth sharing support over OBEX FTP although that part is rather unstable on my laptop (crashes explorer for some reason). That isn't an issue with the app though. That's a known problem on my laptop that I don't know what's causing it.

I just tried this out - it looks great and the web sharing is incredibly easy to use, thanks!

Installed, and gonna try it tomorrow. I will leave you guys a feedback.

Tried using this but when I connect via either Web sharing or FTP sharing on my computer it just hangs there for a while and says a connection could not be established.
- Both my computer and Xperia X10i are connected to the same Wifi network
- I'm using WB-XPERIA TW Gingerbread Rom if that may account for anything

I have never came across this problem. You could try playing with the File Expert settings, enabling/disabling things and getting to a conclusion. It could be a problem with your ROM, your router or the compatibility with the app. I have noticed that the HTTP server closes when I change to another app (even though it says File Expert's still running). You could try using a different app from the market (there are loads), just type 'web sharing' in the Android Market and see what you get

Usually nothing special happens because the WiFi users discard packets that are not destined to themselves.
DroidSheep does not do this. It reads all the packets looking at their contents.
Is a website sending a clear recognition feature within a message’s content, which can identify a user (“SessionID”), then DroidSheep is able to read it although it is not intended to external users.
Moreover DroidSheep can use this token to use it as its own.
The server can’t decide whether the authorized user or DroidSheep has sent the request.

How can I protect myself?
The only satisfying answer is: SSL respectively HTTPS.
Many providers already offer HTTPS, even facebook, however it must often be enabled in the settings first.
When using HTTPS the data are still sent to alle participants in the WiFi-network, too, but because the data has been encrypted it is impossible for DroidSheep to decrypt the contect of a message - remaining only a complete mess of letters, with which an attacker can’t do anything.
The real problem is that not every website provides SSL. What to do when you are in a public network (hotel, airport, etc.), you also want to use this and the site does not offer HTTPS though?
You can use a VPN-connection
For this the computer sets up an encrypted channel to a confidential computer which again transfers the data to the website.​

Im having no luck with this app on my nexus s 4g. Which is a shame. I can post debugging info if somebody could help me out.

I connected to wifi and did some browsing on other devices. I.e tablets.
didnt find anything.

It works for me, but there's a mess with sessions. Probably you should consider mapping each session to each Wifi network and not showing old ones with new networks... Just a suggestion

It is working on ICS, perhaps you have IP client isolation on WiFi router...

Not working for me on Galaxy Note ICS... Do you think it's related to my conection? How should I change it?

So, if you're a web designer or HTML, PHP coder etc you'll know that paid hosting isn't cheap, and free hosting is too limited and un-reliable.
However, until recently there was no such thing as "portable hosting", free portable hosting that is (not that I know of any paid portable hosting?)
I've found a way to host any HTML (PHP & MySQL too!) website with images and Java Script support all from your Android device!
Now, this may seem un-reliable, but with a clean install of a ROM / Firmware with just the required app, and a charger plugged in, this is a pretty reliable hosting source.
However, I doubt you're going to see Google running from this any time soon, or any major website for that matter! Another factor of why you'd want to do this is, "simply because I can".
Some other good uses for this project are:

Using a file manager, create a folder and call it whatever you want. For the sake of demonstration, I will call mine "Electronics Website".

- #3| Adding Content
Now, we've got our directory but we need some webpages! Simply paste the HTML files into the directory you just created. You can create more directories inside the main directory (/sdcard/YourFolderName/)
- #4| Setting the default directory
Now, this is where we have launch "Boa Webserver".
Once the app is open, simple press "Menu" and then "Settings". Here we have the option to change the port in which Boa will broadcast on, and the directory to use as default.
This is what we want, so click on "Share Directory" and add the directory you created earlier.
- #5| Starting the Webserver / Website!
Starting the webserver / website is very simple. On the main screen of the Boa Webserver application, hit "Start Webserver".
This will start the webserver.
- #6| Viewing the website
When you start the server, Boa will tell you what the LOCAL IP is, this is located in the orange box at the top of your screen.
As you can see, when I goto the IP that is shown in the "Boa Webserver" app, I'm brought to my website!

- | A Note About Portforwarding
As many of you will know, to make your website available for the whole world to view you will need to portforward the port that Boa runs off of and also the IP in which your Android Device is connected to via your Wi-Fi (192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3 etc)
You do NOT have to port forward if you are using this for private use (household use, people connected to your Wi-Fi)

boa, i tested it with my cousin to see if he can access the server.
i tried wifi, and 3G, and he got the 404 on both

Not all paid servers for PHP are that expensive. You have cheap shared servers, though there are some performance issues with them. Some infrastructure based servers, like DigitalOcean are not that expensive considering the features you get. The only problem with such servers is the hassle of managing them. The colors can be changed in wireshark..for defaults it isn't so dificult to find out the reason of each color...

interceptor passwords
Hi, I'm rooted, have busy box, and i have interceptor. I can locate other computers and devices on my own home wifi and use many of the tools included on the devices. Arp poison works, cookie works, screen shots works. However, i have 2 questions. Will interceptor read information if someone is using the Facebook app as opposed to the browser? And also, interceptor is advertised as having password recovery ability but where exactly are the passwords? I even tried it on myself and logged into several sites using interceptor showed the address, screen shots, pcap files (i guess) but where do i find the passwords? Thanks, great app,

Issue scanning devices

I have a rooted android 5.1.1 with BusyBox installed. I installed Intercept-ng and the app does not show any devices when scanned. It did show the gateway once and when I scanned again, even that disappeared.
Although, I can see that my antivirus on my PC blocks the port scan. I haven't tried running the scan on any other network, just my home network.
Just to check, when I scanned my wifi with the app Network Scanner and it detects all the devices on the network (around 7 devices).
What could be the issue here? Any help would be appreciated.

An update:
So I accessed the app file 'hostlist' via adb shell and can see all the devices listed there but I can't see those devices on the app interface.
I also tried reinstalling SuperSU, BusyBox Pro and Intercept-ng. No luck
