User preference, I`ve always used CWM and its never done me wrong, recently I tried TWRP and I liked that too for the multi-functionality but I would say try them both then answer your own question
@Nihar I wonder if we can get the Capacitive buttons at some point

where to find this recovery source code which you compiled ?

Cwm is somewhat closed source, afaik.. Comes with cyanogenmod source...
I'd love to get my hands on the touch version...
If we could port it to pico, its really awesome...

Is this able to mount sd-ext just like yannou90's recovery?

usually when you compile a device for cm the resulting build also creates a recovery.img of the latest version of CWM (some tweaks maybe needed for unsupported devices) as it has most of the device specifics needed already, you can also build your own seperately on the CWM Recovery Build Server HERE

Does this mean we doesnt need to edit the vold.fstab to get TF-card mounted as "sdcard" instead the OEM partition?

I have decided to post the wipe scripts here for those Kernelholics & Flashaholics that are flashing kernels and ROMs constantly. I've made small modifications to these scripts to be flashed on HTC ONE S FULL credit to the originator of them Credits below.
These are compatible with CWM, TWRP.
Since there have been numerous kernels recently being posted and people wondering what to wipe or what not to wiped here is the Kernel Cleaner.
1. Place the file in the root of your /sdcard
2. Flash Kernel Cleaner
3. Flash Kernel if on TWRP on lower baseband or FastBoot Kernel
4. Reboot.
Download: http://d-h.st/HDi
This second script I'm sure everyone is familiar with SUPERWIPE script.
Tired of wiping after every ROM or not knowing what to wipe to flash a ROM and have a clean install? Just flash this script & flash ROM easy right?
This wipes SYSTEM, CACHE, DATA.
1. Place Wipe-Script in root of /sdcard
2. Flash Wipe-Script
3. Flash ROM
4. Reboot.
Download: http://d-h.st/61T
Debug
If it doesn't flash please tell me what recovery your using.
ONLY works for the HTC ONE S flashing on other devices will leave you with a BRICKED DEVICE. You have been warned.

Scripts work great, used then many times already. In twrp, just que them up in order with your rom off choice and swipe to flash. Makes things so easy and convenient!

Im on CWM Touch (official) and when I run the wipe Script the following comes up:
"1. Erasing & formatting EXT4 *cache* partition

Installation Aborted"
However Kernel Zip seems to finalize installation.
Thanks!
Just used both to do a fresh install and worked flawless.

I know, I have to make some small changes but since I don't own a One S anymore there is no way to test it and with how sensible a wipe script is I don't want to release a blind one and have people brick their phones.
Just wondering, would this still work? I have been recently sent here by another thread. And as for the second script, is that what is present in twrp 2.6 now? (since factory reset wipes those things)
Edit: was linked to the wrong thread. Sorry.

No, it won't. Just wiping the data partition on your phone and some data files on your SD card, but not the whole card at all....

Re: [RECOVERY]D67MOD Recovery 03/01/2013
Nice bro. Will definitely flash this once I get back home. If it all works out I shall say this is the recommended recovery for my ROM.
On a side note, if it does work as it should, (not saying it won't considering the sources) would a minimalistic version... Sorta like an "unchained" edition be viable for users. My ROM is based on 3 key factors, speed, ease of use and appeal. A GB with Seeder (the first one released with it baked in for our device too), appeal of JB and the ease of CM.
So I would say remove options like the dev menu, advanced options, only have the main 4 wipe options. Ease of use. USB toggle, flash from zip, fix permissions, partition. Just what the average user would use on a everyday basis. Oh and the SD card erase removed lol. God knows I've hit that damn option without thinking twice by accident one too many times.

As far as changing options for you,let me see what i can do,i was able to decompile the recovery with dex's kitchen, but theres certain files that need a linux environment to decompile, which i dont have at the moment,i can however customize it for your rom as far as the UI goes,if your interested and that goes for members, devs and teams alike.

Yeah if you ever get around to a Linux environment and can figure out how to modify the scripts that would be great. If not no biggie. I would just rock whichever default ui you drop.

This is a release thread, so it's cool to bump it as much as you like.
This is a vanilla build and it doesn't have a "Format /preload" option or a "preload restore" option.
sorry, I'm a noob, I used to use TWRP tar file flash with odin, and for this ClockworkMod flashable zip, how can I flash it? Odin doesn't recognize .zip file? Thanks

You flash it in recovery. Twrp is better anyways though, so just keep that.

Flash it in recovery just like any other flashable zip. If you're asking this, you might want to reconsider doing anything until you have thoroughly read about what you're doing before you end up with a paper weight instead of a phone.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.

I'm disappointed in u Dan, we should all be allowed options. I prefer twrp too, but choice is always good, it breeds innovation.
The ONE and ONLY reason I tell people that Apple should continue to makes phones when they say android is better.
That, and windows phones for those who are so technically inclined are actually quite good

Well....he still has the choice. I am just strongly recommending what I feel is a superior recovery, both ui and functionally.
But I am sorry I have disappointed you. Options always breed competition and from that comes great innovation and design improvement.
So, rock out with your CWM bro!

Where did you get the recovery, the clockwork mod site does not show 6.0.3.3 as being available for the skyrocket. Be wary of flashing this unless you have verified the device it is for.

[APP][4.0+][ROOT] Flashify

Hello XDA folks,
I present to you Flashify. My new tool app to help you easily flash and backup your stuff!
With this app you will be able to easily flash boot.img, recovery.img and also .zip files.
To flash .img files, you won't even need to have a custom recovery. Just flash and reboot.
To flash .zip files, you'll need a custom recovery. If you have TWRP you will also be able to wipe cache, dalvik and data.
To help you keep track of your flashing, the app has a recents list, which you can access to quickly flash again.
You can also backup/restore boot and recovery. You will be able to choose between Sdcard and cloud (Dropbox). If you choose Dropbox,
the app will automatically synchronize your backups between devices and installs/uninstalls.
Flash from anywhere! Do you want to flash from your favorite File Explorer? No biggie, that also works together with Flashify. Any other app that opens files will also work with Flashify, seamslessly, for the best user experience.
Please let me know if you have another device, and if it is working or not.

Thanks. That's kind of what I figured but I was hopeful. I just don't have a computer to soff. I was limited on the time I had to root.

Hmm that doesn't sound right. Is it a Dropbox or Sdcard backup?
I tested the kernel backup in my xperia u,seems ok,but the size of the CWM recovery is <1kb,so problems there.backup to sd card

Hmm don't use the recovery backup then. Some kind of incompatibility there that can be dangerous!
