Hi all!
Ultra-NOOB question here! I just acquired my One S, rooted it with the all-in-one toolkit and installed a recovery.
Now, which keys do I have to press to enter the recovery from the shutted down phone? And when? Does fastboot need to be turned off?
Til now I had to connect to my pc and adb reboot recovery...
Thanks!

New issue, I got it to install by switching through all of my usb ports and then rebooted it through cmd when it was finished. How do I boot into recovery now? I tried holding the power+volume up but it just vibrates and then never boots.

Power+volume down to enter the bootloader menu, then volume up to confirm "RCK".

Thank you, I had assumed that it was the same as my phone (power + volume up).
I was able to root, install TWRP, and permanent root using adb commands to get into fastboot and recovery. What's the proper key press combo because I cannot figure this out?

1. FIRST of all, make sure that Fast Boot is off (Settings --> Power --> Fast Boot (uncheck).
2. Power off the unit.
3. While holding the volume button DOWN, press the power button. If you get the splash screen, you'll have to power off again and try again.
4. Hold both buttons for a second or two until you feel the vibration, then release the volume down button, the bootloader screen will come up.
5. Select hboot (if not already selected). Use volume button to scroll down to recovery. Press power. You will then see the splash screen (with red lettering unless you flashed an alternate hboot) and the unit will boot to recovery.
Do yourself a favor and either figure out a way to get the Advanced Power dialogue into your ROM, or download Quickboot which will do the same thing.
Oh Jebus! None of the instructions I found mentioned turning off Fast Boot. I was sitting here last night for like 10 minutes trying to get into fastboot before I was like, "adb reboot fastboot"

See hgoldner's reply; very good walkthrough.
If you want to install a mod to get the Advanced Power Menu (APM) with additional reboot options, I used this.
Good luck. :good:

Hello everyone, i need your help to install the stock firmware on my Honor 8 but right now im stuck at the stock recovery with no OS and i can't reboot to bootloader/fastboot with adb, for information i was on the beta nougat on FRD-L09C432B316 with bootloader unlocked.
Turn off device and hold power button and volume down when booting. This will put you in fastboot.

Uninstalled magisk to update OTA to 6.8 (because it wouldnt work) then it just reboots and now its stuck here on the "blah blah your bootloader is unlocked"
OS: 11.0.6.7.kb05aa
wtf can i do, pc doesn't detect it?
Try the below hardware key combination to get into fastboot and flash your stock boot.img (from the correct rom) and see if that fixes it.
If not you can try to flash the latest rom through fastboot.
If that is not working you can always use the MSM/Unbrick tools (see posts in Guide forum) to restore completly to stock (Warning this will wipe your phone !)
To enter Fastboot and Recovery Modes using the physical button combination, you will first need to power off your OnePlus 8T completely. To do this, simply press and hold the Power button to bring up the Power menu and select ‘Power Off’.
Once you have done that:
Press and hold the ‘Volume Up’, ‘Volume Down’, and ‘Power’ keys together to enter Fastboot Mode
Press and hold the ‘Volume Down’ and ‘Power’ keys together to enter Recovery Mode

So you got everything working? Great
hello i m to unlock oem from adb and reboot tablet but it won't start only restart and go to boot mode volum down not working to choose fastboot
If english isn't your main language then use google translate and I'll try my best to understand.
Anyway, does adb recognize your device? Does adb devices returns devices attached and a serial number?
If so then try adb reboot bootloader
Or try manually booting with volume buttons, usually it's (Volume Up + Power) combination, on some devices it's (Volume Up + Volume Down + Power) combination.
You have to enable USB debugging and oem unlock in settings for any of this to work.
After successful booting to fastboot. Use fastboot oem unlock for older devices or fastboot flashing unlock for newer devices.
Then use fastboot reboot after successful unlocking. Note: Most devices use prompt to confirm bootloader unlocking which in turn requires the user to select "yes" with volume buttons.
If your device doesn't boot to bootloader and you have oem unlock and usb debugging on and tried all of the above. Then most likely your device bootloader cannot be unlocked, which explains why you can't find your device in XDA forums.
I did all of the above, but after unlocking oem, this is what the picture became
volumn down not working
I'm not following here, what exactly happened? Did you unlock the bootloader?
yes I unlocked the bootloader but after fastboot reboot it does not turn on it reboots only as shown in the video
Try booting into fastboot again and using flashing unlock_critical
I can not enter the fastboot mod because it does not work for me volumn down
Is your device detected on your PC? Try adb reboot bootloader
after unlocking oem, the tablet does not turn on and does not see the pc
Try connecting the device to your PC while pressing volume button to boot to bootloader. If it still doesn't boot then you can only fix the volume button.
Can you tell me what's your device model?
my model is x101 china model tablet .
boot only working volumn up
I can not choose boot mode
I never saw a bootloop after unlocking bootloader before. Maybe you modified your device in anyway before doing this? Like one click root apps or anything whatsoever?
If you can get volume down to work then you should be fine. Also try power button too pressing it should have the same effect as volume down.
I haven't modified anything. only the power button does not work only the volume up and the volume down is not pressed Please help me how to recovery system

Is your device battery removable? If so, remove it and wait 5 minuets and connect your device to your PC while pressing volume button to boot into bootloader.
If not then completely discharge your phone and wait for 24 hours. and then try connecting it to your PC while pressing volume button to boot into bootloader.

I discharged it but still nothing fixed
Hence the reason not buy cheap Chinese products. You can only take it to a service center to fix the volume down button.
