Hey guys, is there a JB Ruu for the One S yet? I found the JB RUU zip but I noticed there are multiple versions... what is the absolute latest version?

Have you ran an RUU before? You can change your CID to its original, the relock your bootloader and run the RUU. If it fails, you can run the ICS RUU then apply the JB OTA.

I am looking for the same answer. no it doesnt say if it will brick or not. but some people have say it will with super cid. you can flash a new cid with fastboot oem . The thread really has no instructions on how to do anything. it just supplies the link for the file.
I tried to flash to ruu via the windows executable file that it came with, but i get an error everytime. 159 image error.
I am original on t-mob though. this may be the prob. im not sure.
everyone else says just have your cid HTC__001. if your s-off you can change it in fastboot.

Firstly: The RUU is meant for unbranded european devices.
superCID bricks phone when you flash OTA. Using RUU should be safe.
So you have no use for this ruu since you are tmob

Yes

All I can say is make sure you do "exactly" what the instructions say. I downgraded my hboot and I got stuck for that reason. And if you have to post in that thread I did and got fast help but make sure you tell them exactly what's happening
is there no easy to follow guide for this? as im well confused and well newbied
What method is this?
Tmobile HTC Oneā¢ S
I have read the tut for brick/unbrick and downgrade hboot in dev section. And if I read it good there are 2 methods of downgrade hboot
1) brick/unbrick device and downgrade hboot (first post tutorial)
2) change CID and run RUU with lower hboot (second post tutorial)
If these are the options I think the second is the easiest way to downgrade hboot, but why are most people downgrading there devices by bricking it? Are there advantages or disadvantages for each method?
Edit I have hboot 2.15 and want downgrade to hboot 1.06

Changing cid seems to have caused a few bricks for some people when trying to update to official JB OTA.
So would you advice to use the first method, although I already OTA updated to JB?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I have downgrad by the first method and i have test all the way to hard brick my phone
And I can say that it's impossible to hard brick your phone with this tutorial.

I think the issue happend when the cid was already changed on ICS, and you tried to update to JB. Changing it when you already are on JB shouldnt be any problem.
But I havnt done any downgrading myself, so I dont know... Its just what Ive read.

Just to be clear there is ONLY one way to downgrade hboot and that is with what you call option 1.
For what you describe as option 2 that ONLY applies AFTER you do option 1. If you want to run a RUU AFTER you've completed the downgrade you also have to do what is stated in the second post. Although it's much easier to use the the all in one tool kit reset your main version. This is achieved by and pressing the "Main version fix" button using the all in one toolkit. That will save you trouble of pulling mmcblkp23, hex editing it, then pushing it back to the phone.
Alright I understand it, I will read the tut again and try with my nooby knowledge of linux to downgrade

It's a pretty straight forward method. Try not to panic if you encounter a problem. The good news is that it's almost impossible to truly "brick" this phone. Just take a step back and reread the instructions paying close attention to the details. Post your questions about the process in the main thread, the people that follow it typically have a higher level of understanding then the forum overall.
If you don't have the required 10 posts to be able to post in the development sections go post some BS ones somewhere in XDA so you can get into that thread.
Oke thanks , it sounds doable to downgrade with these instructions

Are you S-OFF already?
Is this an AT&T one X? you would have had to supercid to root, if you RUU and you are not S-OFF you will brick.
To RUU, you'll need windows be it through a VM or another PC.
You can flash an OTA through stock recovery if you download the zip but if you're superCID that will also brick you.
I have S-on Relock hboot 1.09
I guess im gonna ask a friend to let me borough hes windows laptop i think thats the easiest way to go back

is this a full stock rom or do you need the ICS 2.35 RUU first before running this if you want to go back to stock? The DL is about 700 MB so I surely hope it's the whole thing otherwise, that's a bit bloated for an update...lol

I haven't heard of anything about that but I haven't really read much about it either. For me S-off isn't a big deal. it makes things more convenient but isn't necessary. Really only affects updating radios and blackbox partitions. As long as I got access to recovery and system, I'm fine.

Mkinney88s ROM and my ROM have the same base as this RUU. This RUU is a bit older than the WWE ROMs that are out though...like ViperOneS...its based on 3.16, and the T-Mobile version is 3.14...but they are both JB...I suggest using the 3.16 bases unless you are T-Mobile US.

Hello,
Upon many google searches I have come to believe that this phone has updated above 4.0.4.
I have complications updating so I came here with the following questions:
Did the at&t HTC one x finally get jellybean, or is that for other models?
if yes how can I update because I see get an error on the at&t software update tool, and I don't see anything in the "about" tab for updating like in other models.
Thanks
Edit: I forgot to mention I'm stock and unrooted.

According to the bootloader text, the phone was previously bootloader unlocked, and then relocked. Its probably also SuperCID, since this is the only way to unlock the bootloader on the AT&T version. Phone is also S-on.
Be aware that installing the AT&T Jellybean RUU with SuperCID + S-on will brick the phone. Advise you either change the phone back to the AT&T CID, or achieve S-off prior to running RUU or OTA or you will brick.
