Is it possible to overclock the GPU on 4.2?
I am running the blackbean BAKED rom, I read it was possible but only with the old tiamat kernel which is not compatible with ICS/JB
Thanks.
Same question for cm10.1 4.2.2
I've used setcpu to oc my android 422 rom
Hope that helps

The kernel from the EOS ROMs has GPU OC. So one suggestion to get the kernel on any other ROM...
1. NANDROID current ROM
2. Wipe everything and install the EOS ROM.
3. NANDROID only the "boot" partition.
4. Restore your original ROM.
5. Restore only the Boot partition.
After this you should have the Tiamat kernel installed. Honestly that's the easiest way.
*edit*
Actually I just saw this kernel in the development section you could try.

Are you unlocked and rooted with clockwork mod? You'll need to be first.
Flashed matrix kernel over stock ics myself a while back and worked fine. Just wipe dalvik cache in recovery first though.
Sent from me to you via the tinternet thingamebob.
I have done that.
Will I lose any data. Btw. Which version? Cfs or bfs.
What kernel do you recommend.

You shouldn't lose any data. CFS is aimed at multi-tasking, and BFS is more aimed at single-tasking, games, etc. CFS is everday normal use. If you do heavy gaming or other heavy single process stuff then go for BFS.
I hope this clarifies it some for you.
Matrix kernel is fine.
Also make sure you are flashing the correct Kernel for either GB or ICS. 11.5 I think is the latest for GB and 17.5 for ICS.
Successful

Hello guys,
I juste finished root and flash Sungsonic HD rom and i see the new kernel KK-boot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1855700 )kernel but i don't understand which one take... to flash on my tab
When I read it, my impression is you flash cwr for your version of tablet, then in cwr flash the core, then the oc addon, then the gpu oc addon.

Which vengeance version did you flash?
Everything under 1.40 is not very stable because it still has overclocking features, which makes the phone reboot once a while, partly depending on the governor and scheduler.
The last version (1.46) should not reboot as far as I know.

I flashed 1.46
On first boot it took me to the app optimization screen then it switched off
Then I booted again, it took me upto the setup guide then it switched off again
Third time it took 2 mins before it switched off again!
Here's what I did-
I was on CM10
I flashed stock ftf
Then flashed kernel.elf
Then I rebooted
Did I miss something?
Do I need to flash those modules?
which one 3.0.8 or 3.4? Or both?
Now m back to CM, collecting info then I will flash again.

Hi. I'm using Xperia J and running on FXP 220 CM10. It's ICS based. I've been searching for custom kernel that actually can overclock ny android. I found nothing so far.
When I used rooted stock JB, I use vengeance kernel, and it worked well.
I've tried using the vengeance on CM10. My phone did not boot.
So, is there any kernel that can overclock my Xperia?

Vengeance is an ICS based kernel. CM is JB based. They are not compatible with each other, that is why your device didn't boot.
We have no JB based kernels what have been overclocked unfortunately, this means that you have to use the boot.img (it contains the kernel and a few other items needed for the phone to boot) provided in the CM zip file.

CM is not overclockable as we don't have an overclocked boot.img file. And I don't own an Xperia J, only Miro.
Hi!
I'm not new user of TF300T, but I have 1 very strange problem... So, after install any kernel, I have patterned bootscreen (my pictrues are in attachment). First time when I had this, was after install Clemsync's kernel 1,7 GHz, over CleanROM Inheritance (bootloader 10.4). I fast restored stock kernel. Next week I'd installed Utner's kernel. It was perfect! 1,6GHz, fast, without problems! I used Unter while I was on JB 4.1 bootloader. Half year ago I updated bootloader to 10.6 (JB 4.2). Now I have this problem on every modified kernels (Hunds, _that etc.).
Currently I use Cyanogenmod, because there are no problems. I don't know is this problem with OC, maybe voltage. I have this problem only on bootscreen.
Please, help
I'm not able to solve it by myself .
Thanks
I don't think this screen is shown by the kernel, but by the bootloader.
If it is not caused by a hardware defect, you might be able to fix it by reflashing the stock ROM.

Yes, but on Cyanogenmod I don't have any problem... :/

It's caused by clemsyn overckocking the GPU in the kernel. I don't think it causes a problem. That kernel and ROM are really old and were not designed for the bootllader you have. You should update to the latest version of CROMi-X if you want to run cleanrom.
@sbdags
I really love your CleanROM Xenogenesis, and I use it . My english is bad, but I tried to say, that I updated bootloader half year ago. I first time I had this problem on Clemsync. I have the same problem on Xenogenesis with _that OC and Hunds. I don't have any problem on when kernel isn't OC. I use CM, because I want to eat KitKat per few days , for daily and performance and daily using, CROMX is the best for me .
Thanks for help, and work sbdags .
