play/streaming movies to tv? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Im trying to find some way to stream movies from my phone to my TV. From whatvive read the mhl HDMI adapter doesnt work so I tried the bubbleupup app and it works but the movies play extremely choppy.
Anybody have a solution to this. Don't care what I just want to play movies on my TV.

If you buy the Samsung MHL adapter, it actually does does work very nicely. It's like 40 dollars on Verizon website. It has the cable to hook up to your phone, a slot for a charger to keep your phone from dying and and female HDMI adapter for your TV. I use GalaxyMod RLS 16 and I watch movies from my phone straight to my Hd TV without any problems. Price is kinda steep but works great. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help from what I was reading online it didn't work.

I have had some kernel and rom combinations that hasn't played we with it (mostly AOSP) but for the most part, all TW roms that I have flashed haven't had a problem with video playback.

Lol dangit over course I have liquidsmooth. Love this ROM so hopefully it works!

Works fine IF you get the one made for this phone.

HDMI APP for EVO (using it for games on TV)

Hello,
I was wondering if a Dev was creating or looking into making a app over the HDMI to display everyith on your phone, not just when it is in video mode.
My thought was to someday be able to connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to the phone and play doom, quake w/e from my phone to the TV.
Any thoughts?

These were my exact same thoughts, lets connect my phone to my tv and and bluetooth keyboard to the phone and have a big giant screen for txt messaging hahahahahaha Would also be really cool for watching SprintTV and the web.
Was really annoyed when I found out that the HDMI out had been crippled in the EVO. I hope this won't be the case for the EPIC.
Any ways, I too hope that someone can create a work around for this.

i dont believe that this could be done with an app but maybe god maybe manufacturers maybe CYANOGEN can help...
or the alternative if google (or anyone else) gives an API to develop apps...
if there were a browser, a better player(maybe rockplayer) and docs to go, things would have been better...
I am definately willing to donate to anyone that gets this working. It would make the phone so much more effective.
I used the Samsung Vibrant video out with a simple cable from radio shack and it mirrors the whole UI. Everything you do on the phone goes onto the TV. It isn't the most beautiful picture, and there is some frame lag, but it was still really nice. It would be even better over HDMI.
Jutst checking around some different forums to see if all the EVO Hdmi threads are dead or if any work is being done on it... anybody ?????
Any one fide something jet?
Nope still looking around and nothing yet. I know there's a dev raising money for a evo that already created an app for the nexus I believe......
This is definately dissapointing I would chip in for this as I travel a lot and would be great to use with my slingmobile and watching hockey games......
DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL THAT ZIP. IT'S A LIE AND PROBABLY IS A VIRUS AND/OR MALWARE.

While i cant speak for the apk above...here is the developement thread for the app coming out in the next few weeks...with a video of it working...personally cant wait!

[Q] HDMI output -- Media Hub problem

I downloaded movies from Media Hub on my Droid Charge but I can't watch it on my TV through HDMI due to copyright problems. Has anyone heard of or know of a hack to override this problem Thanks in advance.

I'm running Gingerbread EP1F stock. I noticed the same issue. However, if I start the movie playing and then plug in HDMI, everything works.

Tried that with Humble 1.51 Froyo and didn't work.
I don't understand their logic of forcing you to only watch a low quality movie that you payed for (at full DVD retail price) on a tiny screen.

Android Market Movie Rentals - HDMI Out?

Does it allow for HDMI out to a TV?
The prices on some of the movies are the best on the net, way better than Amazon for example.
Search is your freind ..

I already have an MHL adapter...
What you're failing to realize is that some apps blank the TV screen when HDMI out is enabled/TV connected. One of these apps is the Hulu Plus app for example.
Thanks though for the condescending attitude on something you clearly have no idea about.
I'm specifically asking if the Android Movies movie rental app will play through HDMI out or if it will blank the screen. Has anyone tried this?
I bought this a few days ago dealextreme.com/p/micro-usb-to-hdmi-mhl-adapter-101358 (add at the beginning "www"). Probably next week it will arrive. I think there's nothing with best price.

Try to rent a dollar movie that are on the Market and see. I'm curious to see if it works also
I just found this thread in Google Search trying to answer the same question. According to Google, you can, but I haven't tried it yet.

I know this thread is a month old, but I can confirm this does work. I have rented several movies from the android Market on my Sensation and piped them out to the T.V. over the MHL adapter and they worked just fine.

Thanks for this! I never tried this because reading through the Android Market reviews for the Videos app, some people say it works and some people say it doesn't.

[Q] 3.5 mm TV out cable

Obviously I have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G. I'm running a custom rom, the valhalla final. I recently purchased a tv out cable from samsung. It doesn't work on any tv I have. Is it because the tv's I own are older? Or does it have something to do with my rom? If this is the case can anyone suggest a rom whrere tv out works? Please help me!!
Did you go to display settings and turn on the TV out option? If so and it still doesn't work, it may be a TV issue. I've been able to use it on all the TV's I've tried.

You need to switch the yellow (video) input with the red (audio) input when connecting to TV.

I've actually found that only applies to certain TV's for some reason. It's weird. But good point, I forgot about that.

Typically this would be reversed, meaning it would depend on the cable used. The phone sends the video signal on the same output.
I tried any color combination possible. NOthing work. My guess so far is the tv that stoned yoda was talking about. And yes, to answer your question, I chcked tv out. I get a bad picture with static and stuff. By the way, after thinking about it, the switching the cables wont work. That only applies if you don't buy the samsung cable, which I did. The samsung cable has a converter in it. Samsung switched the terminals to give you the illusion you had to buy from them. So I guess Im gonna find a newer tv and try it.....stoned yoda do you run a custom rom?
Mine work on 15 year old anolog television. How much older could your tv be?
