Ubuntu Touch for I9000 - Captivate General

The International Galaxy S1 I9000 got a working version of Ubunu Touch so it's probably only a matter of time before we get it.

Edit: XDA link to rom is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163627
Edit 2: Looks like pawit is also working on it on the I9000. He's ironing out a few bugs, but he will most likely bring it to all the US variants. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162534

I agree SlimRom and Xylon (4.2.2) are working really well for me. Xylon has issue with BlueTooth but that should be fixed with next update.
Still I want to try Ubuntu and FireFox roms when they are available.

WOW this is getting exciting. I was thinking of getting rid of my Capi, but now it looks like it will be with me for even longer than i thought.

I went ahead and flashed this to my cappy. Just follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162534
In step 4 flash this file instead:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/xhhuvhxow2ldwgq/ubuntu-bootstrap-galaxysmtd-20130223.zip?m
Its the same file except I deleted the asserts from the updater-script.

[ROM] [Testing] HTC Sense [WIP] (Updated 9/18)

HTC SENSE FOR EPIC
Hi everyone, I am aware that there is another Sense thread, but after popular request in that thread to have an updated OP and a less fragmented thread, we decided that I should make my own thread.
Working/Not Working
IDK, but when I do, I will update this
The ROM in this thread may not boot, so if you need a stable ROM, for now, this is not your best bet.
Special Thanks to asdfghjkl, ahmgsk, and Bubby323
The included kernel will probably always be the CM7 Kernel so thanks to them
http://db.tt/8Ji3nVj
Help: If anyone can help make the ROM better, that's always appreciated.
Good luck.
first!
OOOOOOOOO
Sweet dude always good to have options
Go ahead and test the first link. If that doesn't work, go down the line.

3rd one is a script error, first two, maybe leave for an hour, cuz this file is pretty huge.
Sorry, guys I really don't know what to do here. If you could look at the script and other file and maybe try to fix, that'd be great. In the mean time, you guys could test the last build I made in the Miui thread.

Their script wont help at all lol thats probably why it wont flash...throw in the cm7 updater-script with no changes except our cm7 kernel and it should flash.
Edit: Your already using the CM7 kernel so just throw in our Cm7 updater script...

Not trying to step on toes... I thought I saw you post that you weren't going to be able to work on it much because you were gonna be gone... Next time I will contact you first so you know... I haven't been on XDA for a while. I did some work in a few other forums before coming here. Started in the SGS4G forum doing themeing and light rom work, then moved to the Galaxy SII for a while... There I ported ICS before they even had it available... Then I went to the Amaze for a bit.... now I just picked this phone up for the kids so I decided to do some work in here...
So any way.. If there is anything I can help with let me know, I will do my best to chip in...
Also, What issues are you having? I have been running mine for a couple days now with no issues so far... knock on wood...
I also built a new ClockworkMod 6 recovery that I will post with this rom hopefully tomorrow...
Still doing some light themeing on the rom...

Talked to Racing19969 earlier today and he said he's got it built, but no display when it boots. Just as dr4stic said the msm 8660 devices are in the dark right now. The Hercules t989 shares the same problem. Just be patient, it'll come. If not our device than maybe eventually a port. Keep an eye on the t989 cm 10.1 discussion too.

It wont be that easy bro it takes alot of coding to use a rom from another phone theres alot of different things about the 2 phones our kernels will never work with s2s roms they have totally diff partition setups and lots of different things... And if u read the s2 forums ud see they dont even have 10.1 running yet thereselves its black screen hell so a port from that phone would have the same results even if it was successful... Cm10.1 is real unstable right now even for alot of way more popular phones weve got a long time before well see a stable or even semi usable alpha build... Not to sound like a **** but u need a Real Rom Dev (like Dr4stic) and a Real good Kernel writer (chad.goodman) for us to get close to 10.1 for the blaze
Thats why u didnt see us porting ICS roms from the S2 before we got the i577 rom and official ICS just 2 different

IDK if this will work for the blaze or not, but I read that removing a file named Qcom boot splash (which I haven't been able to locate yet in source) fixes the black screen after boot. Not sure if it will allow CM10.1 to boot or not though...

E-Ceros One Smartphone Stock Rom

I found the following site with links to the stock firmware for the E-Ceros One smartphone. Not too sure if it actually works though, too scared to mess up my phone. However if it is the correct rom then we could use this to start developing custom roms for this phone.:good:
The website is as follows:
http://chinagadgetsreviews.blogspot.com/2014/07/download-e-ceros-one-android-422-jelly.html
***UPDATE***
It would seem that the Ulefone and the E-Ceros one are the same other than the ram. Also this phone already has a kitkat update so might be a worthwhile start for developing a custom rom for this phone.
Still a noob so going to try start rom development and learn as I go.
***UPDATE***
See Post #100 for Kitkat rom for E-Ceros.
Yeah got this phone . Has anyone updated it to kit kat.
It can be easily rooted with vroot. So a recovery would be great too to flash a custom ROM if someone could put one together, it would be amazing !

I used V-root to root, but this didnt satisfy MTKDroidTools, so I used the root function in MTKDroidTools to root it. CWM loads perfectly and works well. Can make backups etc without a hassle, only the CWM app doesn't recognise the device and so you need to tell it you manually loaded it. Thanks! Gonna need it, will be my first rom I'm working on so lets hope it goes well. Will probably just port the stock rom to someother already developed rom.
