I have just rooted my eepad transformer hoping that it would now connect to the internet by using the wifi hotspot on my HTC sensation also rooted
It shows that there is an excellent signal and both devices are connected but the Wifi triangle in the right hand corner is grey not blue
Alass this is born out as there is no access to the internet
I used to use Foxfi on the Sensation with PdaNet Tablet, this worked fine until I flashed a new JB Rom courtesy of albinoman887 which is great big thanks:good:
I have searched high and low for the answer and all I found was something about infrastructure Wifi. Not really sure if that's the problem.
Please can someone help?

Ok I'm having a very annoying issue on my Inspire 4G. The phone recognizes my home wifi network and goes in a loop trying to connect and then reconnect. I have several other devices connecting to the wifi flawlessly - (iMac, iPad, Xbox, etc). Does the Inspire just get weak wifi signal strength, or is there something wrong with my phone? I'm considering returning it to get the Atrix. I also know other people have commented saying that they have this issue also. Is there a fix? Thanks

Had this problem. Went into wifi settings and clicked on the access point that it was trying to connect to. It asked me for my credential storage password or something (different than access point password) and after typing that in all has been well ever since.
i got the same problem.. connected to network but it wont let me use internet at all

Check your battery cover and sim card cover. Make sure that they are both installed properly with no gaps.
If you downgraded you phone using attn1 guide thats well known problem. I had same problem i flashed rom coredroid 6.8 and all is fine now.
htc desire hd/inspire
I have a hero and it's rooted. I'm using the wireless tether but for some reason I can't see it with my xoom? but on my laptop I can see it and i've successfully connected it. Does anyone have this problem or am I just not doing something right.
US 3g 3.1 Motorola xoom stock (no root)
Your phone needs to emit infrastructure, not ad hoc.........
I had the same problem until I switched apps. I use Open Garden Wifi Tether now and that fixed the problem for me.

If your Xoom is rooted just flash the .zip in my signature and it will see the ad-hoc network your phone puts out.
I see upon re-reading your post you are not rooted... Root your Xoom... lol
never !! hahah and qsg001, i'll try it out thanks
I guess I should have mentioned that your phone has to be rooted to run the Open Garden WIFI Tether app (at least it does on my Motor Droid).
Hi there
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but I couldn't find a clear answer. Hopefully someone can help me.
I received a Asus Eee pad transformer tf101 for Christmas, and had no problem connecting to the wi-fi hotspot on my HTC Desire. I got full internet connectivity and no signal drop out.
Today I upgraded my phone to an HTC Sensation XL, and thinking it would be the same deal as the desire, I tried to connect to the hotspot.
I managed to connect easily enough. Both devices could see each other and they connected, but now the signal bars on the transformer are grey and despite being connected, I get zero internet connectivity, or any other connectivity requiring a signal.
Like I said, its just a new handset with the same sim card as before, but no matter how I try to tweak the settings, I just can't seem to get any internet.
If someone knows what's going on, Is be really grateful for the help, because I'm getting quite frustrated about the whole thing.
Thanks in advance.
Gary
Which settings are you using for the wlan-hotspot on your sensation? Are you using a password? First thing I imagine is that it has simply other factory-presets which prevent your tf from connecting properly. Otherwise it seems like a sensation specific issue, you said it yourself that the transformer works perfectly on other devices...
I just rooted my HTC Sensation 4g on Virtuous Inquisition and I am trying to find a wifi tether app that works, any suggestions?
Thanks
I used to use Wireless Tether I think V.2.0.7 or somewhere around there, try searching for an APK for that.
Hope this helps
Cheers
I use and would highly recommend this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.android.wifi.tether
My laptop shows limited connection - This is weird, I rooted my sensation so I could use my phone as a wifi hotspot with my laptop, but none of the rooted apps work.
