Ok I've been having these problems transferring mp3's and mp4's to my external SD card but couldn't get any of them to play at all .. but if I transfer them to my phone SD card they will play with no problem. The videos would freeze and not play and the mp3 would say format not supported from the external SD card .. for some reason when I transfer the files from the computer directly to external SD card the are pasted in a different format
.. soo I just tranfered all files to SD on phone then copied files to external SD card using a file manager like astro and they worked and erased files from phone to save more space .. now I have all media on my 16 gig external SD card class 2 and everything works fine ... just wanted to share my experience maybe others were having the same problem ... .. and if anyone knows why they are copied to external SD in a different format????
I have bought a 32gb SanDisk ultra class10 for my galaxy tab 2 10.1. The card will not format in the device (errors) so I formatted in windows. The sd card is then recognised in the tab. I then try copy files from the tabs main memory to the micro sd card but then it errors. (I'm usually left with a partially copied file) I then try to delete the file from the sd card using the Samsung default file manager (also tried astro, es file manager etc). It then get the pop up to say the file is deleted ...but it's still on the sd card. I then have to reformat using a pc.
I've tried the micro sd card in windows to copy files to it and it works fine. I've also tried a slower 2gb micro sd card in the galaxy tab 2 to receive files copied from the main memory and it works fine... it also formats fine in the tab.
Any suggestions before i send this back? Is this card incompatible with the tab?
Thanks

Card is purchased from reputable company, I just get an I/o error in solid explorer after about 10mb of copying
I have the same card and nothing but headache from it in my atrix hd. Seems to be working fine in this tab. Try this in windows (will erase evrrything)
Open cmd
Type diskpart
List disk
Select disk (whichever disk number for sdcard)
Clean
Create partition primary
Select partition 1
Format fs=fat32
Assign letter=h
Eject and pop into tab

Could also try EASEUS Partition Manager. I have the 64GB card and had to use the afformentioned program.

I've just posted a FAT32 command prompt formatter in this thread.
You could try that also, no guarantees it'll work but I see no particular reason why it would not.
I got a Sandisk 32GB class 10 ultra, probably the same item from OP. Used it out of the box without any issue, been using it for a couple of weeks now. Its on FAT32 format.
Try a different 32GB Card? I never had an issue with any of my 32GB Cards.
Hi
I am an xperia miro user(ICS). I updated framewire recenty to 5.8 and rooted my device. Now i am having issues with my external sd card. Es file explorer although it had been granted SU permissions isnt able to create a folder ( operation failed) or transfer any file from sd card to External Sd card. Tried another app called "Rootbrowser" with which i was able to create new folder in external sd card, but still cant write to the External sd card. I have already tried formating my External sd and also changing permissions which i saw on one of the forums here.
Nothing is working for me
I have tons of space left in my External sd card and i cant use it :crying:
Kindly help and solve this issue
Hi guys I recently bought shield k1
It was recently upgraded to Marshmallow
Here's my query
If I were to choose my 128gb sd card as adoptable storage
When I plug my tab to my PC
Shouldn't it display 128+16gb ,instead its showing only 16gb
Is it a format issue or is it how it is in android M
If i were to go with portable storage ,my apps are unable to write anything on the SD card ,even file managers are unable to move files from internal to SD card
All I want is to move files from internal card to SD card ,I hate the stock explore option,do you know any apps that can do this
Sorry if this was already asked
I think the problem is the file system format. If you've formated the SD card with the Android's format like the internal storage the PC won't be able to read it.
Grand file managers, ES explorer and Total Commander.
Hey
With the new android update for this phone i can no longer browse to the sd card via the directory of device\
usually there is a link to the external sd card in device\storage but now its all empty there and i can only access the internal storage via Device\sdcard.
If i use a file browser like Es media then u can select the external sd card directly and access it. But the problem im having is when im in simple apps like ePSXe it wont let me reach the external sd card since i have to manually browse to it but there is no shortcuts to it anywhere. There was one app that allowed the full path to be manually added which worked since the folders are hidden or something.
Its like samsung have hidden the folders link to the external card.
Is there a way to create a shortcut from the internal storage that point to "device\storage\D8C7--9661" (which is my external sd card)?
