YES! you can! accessing download mode even if ur combo button messed up. - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

hi guys i am currently problematic about my phone cause it never get into download mode and my phone haven't been rooted. i am just thinking if it is possible for ADB commad to push our phone to be rooted or make our phone to boot into download mode? what do u think?
never ask on how am i not going into download mode, long story..just answer my question if it is possible..tnx
using ADB command u can get into download mode even if u messed up with your combo button like me as long as ur phone is booting normally.
1st checking usb debugging
2nd attached ur phone
3rd run cmd
4th type "adb reboot download" [without the quote]
5th wait wait wait and u will see that ur phone is in download mode.
if u want flashing firmware, cf root or other use this method if u haven't option or cant get into downlaod mode.

Re: just a thought for rooting [is it possible?]
Everybody's phone in this community is already rooted
dafuq are u trying to say ??
U dont know how to get into download mode that is the problem.
volume down+home+power simultaniously and u will.enter into download mode. use odin to flash bam kernel. :sly:

If your phone has never gotten into download mode, the problem may be this:
When using the 3 buttons technique to get into download mode, it´s best to make sure that the POWER BUTTON is the LAST button of the 3 that you press...Otherwise your phone may simply boot up rather than getting into download mode. (I found this out the hard way many times!)
Therefore, make sure you have the volume down+home buttons pressed, and keep pressing them while you press the POWER key LAST.
Now keep all 3 pressed until you see the yellow download triangle.
By the way, this same technique is also a good idea for recovery mode(volume up+home,THEN add power button until phone vibrates.)
Sorry that this doesn´t solve the ADB issue, but at least it will get you into download mode if that´s what you´re after. You can get into download mode without having a rooted phone.
Good luck!

my download combo has messed up so pressing them simultaneosly gets me nothing and when i removed the battery and reinsert it automatically boot so never have the chance to press the said combo if its automatically boot up..the only option do i have is the ADB command, but if get into boot loop or stuck at samsung logo i dont know how to deal with this using adb.hehe

lol its not like that... you have to download adt bundle for your windows or mac.. install and then prompt the instructions from there.. thats what ADB push is all about.

Power+up is good for boot loops but if you have a recovery installed you can access it through the boot loader menu

No, stay on the bootloader interface, don't press anything, connect it to ur PC and type this in adb: fastboot devices see if you can see your phone's serial number.

That's bad, I recommend to hand it in for repairs, since you can't even connect it to a PC nor boot into recovery.

Fastboot mode

I have a sprint nexus s 4g on ICS 4.0.4 still on stock never rooted or unlocked, and I can't put it into fastboot mode when I press the power and volume up button I get a menu with four options reboot bootloader, reboot, recovery, and power off. Am I missing something ? I tried to search and didn't find anything.

Because your device isn't recognized by your computer. Or in other words, you didn't install the drivers/install them properly.

adb drivers are not the same as fastboot drivers sadly. Once you're in fastboot mode, check your devices in Device Manager and see if there are any unrecognized or anything like "Android Device" or something. One tip is install PDAnet on your PC, it will do fastboot drivers for you (it works for me but others have varying success)

Yes.
As a previous poster stated you don't got fastboot drivers installed.
Adb and fastboot are not the same
Looks like a problem solved just search the forum for fastboot drivers and you'll be good to go

Samsung Gio Stuck on Boot & Can't enter Recovery

Earlier, my Gio told me about rebooting for something about wiping data or something like that.
There was no other option so I pressed the button and it restarted now its stuck on a screen, not sure if it's download mode :/
It has the Android mascot and a box with an orange arrow coming out of it, with a progress bar on the bottom that does not move. The screen also flickers. I have tried plugging my phone on the PC but it does not work. Have any idea how to fix this?

Can't boot phone

Hey guys, I can't get my phone to boot up after flashing something that it didn't like and I can't get back into recovery because my volume buttons don't work. Anyone know of a way I could get it into recovery another way. When I turn the phone on it only boots to the warning about my bootloader being unlocked and that's it! Help, please!!

I don't think that's gonna work. I've already taken the whole phone apart and I got to where the buttons push and there were like no buttons there. I figured the little buttons should look like the power button, but they didn't.
