I've been using Odin 1.85 without problems under Windows 7 x64 before with my GT-P6210 US, but now with Windows 8 x64 Odin is stuck at "SetupConnection.."
I've been following the instructions in this thread, but no go. Samsung Kies works no problem with my GT-P6210. I even could flash the latest ICS update. I want to flash the HC firmware because WIFI WEP doesn't work in the GT-P6210 ICS.

What is your experience with your Galaxy Tab Plus, Odin and Windows 8 x64?
May I use an updated version of Odin?
Ah, seems it was just Odin not liking my USB3.0 port. It works fine on my USB2.0 port.
Now, it seems Samsung disabled the OTA updates for the Galaxy Tab Plus or something. I can only update through Kies and only the ICS update is available. My Galaxy Tab Plus is currently on the KK3 version. It's a good thing I still have a Nandroid backup of the LA3 version (last HC version available). I guess I will have to install Clockwork after all and install an SD card for restoring LA3 over KK3.
All that just to resell my tablet to a friend and I don't want him to have troubles with the WIFI WEP network at the job. >.>;

Downloaded kies mini for giggles. Always had to jump through hoops and never seemed to work on Win 7 x64. Had luck with it on Win XP. But I don't have that XP laptop anymore. So I figured I would give it a try on 7 x64 and it worked first time!!!! Any ways I was wondering about version number for Kies mini. Mine downloaded as Kies_Mini_For_Captivate_11011_4.exe and the version number in Kies is v1.0.0.11.00_4. Curious if this is a newer or same as everybody else who that froyo was coming our way?
Thanks.
Edit: Now it's updating to 1.0.0.11014_6
Kies mini automatically updates when you start it, so everyone would be at the same version number. I personally never had any luck with it since my pc was weird and would shut off the wireless card whenever my phone was plugged in.
I have had mixed results with full version of Kies in Win7 64. Older versions still work with stock/rooted ROMS up to JH7, but would not recognize phone with first leaked froyo back in OCT/NOV. Kies found its own update and I allowed upgrade, but it then would no longer recognize phone on stock/rooted ROMs.
Kies Mini regardless of version and complete removal of all traces of Kies Full may have recognized my phone once. Now I get MSC Thunder errror and request from windows to search for solution to no avail. I have tried multiple versions of Kies Mini.
I primarily use Kies for Syncing with OUTLOOK contacts and was able to recognize Captivate on Andromeda 1.1 as 9010 and able to sync. After having some autorotate and voice quality issue with Andromeda I OneClickODIN back to stock JF6 and Master Cleared and Full Kies found JH7 available, but when I attempted to update to it Kies said it wasn't able to proceed? On stock JF6 my phone found OTA today but after first reboot it told me update was not performed. Wonder if phone is hanging on to root despite OneClickOdin to stock JF6 from DesignGears?
You gave me a brief lapse of hope. I updated to the latest kies mini and still no luck on connecting with win7 x64.
Good to hear it's working for you!

sola fide, I did the update and was able to connect to the phone with my win7 x64 no problem. With the prior version, I need to launch Kies a couple of times while moving the phone through different usb ports, not this time.
My issue with Kies is that I have my phone rooted, running cog 3.04, and Kies will say on the line for the current phone version, that my phone cannot be updated, or something like that. I guess that if I want to get the official Froyo from ATT, I will need to "odin" back my way to stock, unless we find a workaround in the forum or better, if DG can update cog with the ATT Froyo stock.
I am so confused. I installed Andromeda 1.2 and the same Kies Mini I installed on my Win7 64 machine that crashed each time I hooked of SAME Captivate with stock JF6 and JH7..........recognized the phone perfectly as the I897, but obviously no update available.
Full version recognizes Andromeda 1.1 Captivate as I9010? Go figure!
To update from kies, do i need to be unrooted (running stock rooted)... If so, how do you unroot GT 3113??

Nope, you don't have to do anything. Just connect your tab via usb cable and run Kies. If a FW update is available you will be notified as soon as the Kies start...

bro no matter rooted or unrooted when connected to kies it will show update if available.and disconnection problem is with most of tab 2 user.so there are two ways wait for fota or go to service center and get tab updated.
I've tried to update my rooted P3113 from wifi download, not by KIES.
No success! It must be because of the CWM recovery installed, since the tab automatically boots to recovery after downloading updates from samsung. I think the samsung official update scenario stucks at this point (because there is no standart android recovery after CWM installed).
When i'm trying to update rooted P3113 from KIES - no success too, because of "disconnection" problem.
So, we waiting for the stock 4.0.4 rom file for CWM recovery.
Root or unrooted doesn't matter. My tablet is stock and never rooted and Kies was still messing up. Luckily I finally got the OTA this morning.
When I checked for update from my device. It says no update is available. How to get the update?
Sent from my GT-P3113 using xda app-developers app
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 that was rooted and the other day when I turned it on it started updating my tablet. However, the update failed. Probably because I was rooted. So I unrooted the tablet and every time I check for updates it says there are NO updates. I installed Kies on Windows and (after connecting to it with the GTab2 7) it shows me that there IS an update for it. However, every time I click on update it disconnects after a few seconds and and goes back to the initial screen saying there is an update.
So, I can't install it via Kies. And now I when I check for updates it says there are NO updates. Am I totally screwed OR what.
When the update failed, I think when it rebooted to install it THAT it came up to CWM and that is why it failed BUT now CWM is gone and I am definitely NOT rooted with stock ROM on the machine.
However, I see in the settings under STATUS that is shows "modified" instead of "normal".
Is there any way to reset the status? Or is it necessary?

You don't need to unroot, just flash 4.0.4 firmware with odin as i described in this topic
Download firmware from http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-P3113
You will have unrooted stock firmware after flash complete. And after that you install cwm and root just as you did with 4.0.3
One way is to just flash it in Odin.
I used this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645295
This seems to be a pretty foolproof "restock" method.
The only UNROOT method that worked for me!

The only METHOD that UNROOTED my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3113 was the instructions at this web site :
http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-tab-2-7-0-p3113-root-clockworkmod-recovery-96474/
It's a 2 step process. I tried several other places that had similar instructions BUT this one worked. You have to download several files and the recovery rom file has 2 different versions and you choose the one that is appropriate for your situation. I was NOT sure which was appropriate so I tried both and it finally worked.
And it DOES unroot it.
And later that night JUST after midnight I was AGAIN notified on my GT2 7 that I had an update. This time it downloaded the 200+ mb file and rebooted and came up and installed it perfectly!
And every thing is working well now and I am on 4.04. It is SO much smoother than 4.03. A real keeper until Jelly Bean comes available.

Ha ha well I should have read this thread before I did a factory reset and installed kies on like 5 computers. Come on samsung.

The samsung-updates.com link does not work.
Please give link to any working GT-P3113 firmware download please.
I own a Galaxy Note 10.1 WiFi N8010, was bought in Germany quite some time ago (so CSC is German),
It came with 4.0.3, which was later updated to 4.0.4 and then to 4.1.1. Currently it is running Jellybean 4.1.1.
I had found the Exynos exploit and used it to root my device. The 4.1.2 update came out so I unrooted my device.
The "Device Status" shows "OFFICIAL".
The device received an OTA package, started installing it, started the count to 100%, and at 28-29 percent, the update stopped, the device rebooted, reported a failure and sent me to KIES.
I have some problems with KIES so I am looking for other solutions.
I thought maybe I'd use Mobile Odin to flash the stock firmware but I found it needed a flashkernel which I do not know how nor want to install right now. I was thinking about using ODIN to flash the firmware, but the size of the firmware scared me. I am used to flash 300MB SBF files on my Motorola Defy but this 1GB firmware is insane! I am afraid my computer will suddenly shut down and I will get a hard brick. Anyway, assuming I got over this fear, I have a couple of questions:
1. Does flashing with ODIN delete the user data?
2. Assuming I want to delete my data (like factory reset) - what options should I choose in ODIN when I flash?
3. Are there any options not including ODIN, KIES or the computer in general?
I am quite familiar with rooting other devices, just confused with this one.
I just rec'd my SCH-I815 today. It is the Verizon wifi/4G version. It has 4.0.4 and I'd like to update it with the official firmware for JB.
Also, do I need to root in order to use the firmware or just to use ROMs?
Ok, I got as far as this link here (http://firmwarecenter.xenix96.bplaced.com/). What do I download????
Thx!
KIES doesnt recognize my tab
well, I d/l kies and installed. Odin is not running. I have tried many different things from rebooting both pc and tab, to uninstalling and reinstalling KIES....is there any way else to find my CSC Code so I can update to JB??

There is no official jb rom for i815
Hi all I rooted my tablet and installed android revolution HD 11.1 and was running for months no problem. I heard of the kitkat4.4 leak and thought as my note 3 is running it iwould Truro go back to official release firmware. Halfway through the installation something happened. Either a error in the process or my son knocked the wire loose and it disconnected.I'm now stuck on the odin downloading screen. Everytime I firm the unit of it goes back on the odin download page. Can't access any other screen. Everyone I connect to odin it registers it and tried to write but always fails. I've tried 3 different software versions from sammobile. None successful. I don't know what to do now I've spent days trawling the net with no answer. My wife asked the tech guys work where they mainly use macs. His answer was bin it Samsung won't help and there's no support for android. Should have bought a ipad he said. I've tried odin v 1. 85 and v7 and v9 no luck. The message on the downloading screen reads
Odin mode
Product name gt_n8000
Current binary Samsung official
System status custom
Rp swrev: a2
Hope somebody can help me. Much appreciated
fixed my tablet
Hi to anyone who's read this thread with the same problem. I stumbled across a pit file on here can't remember where but it was for a gt-n8013 I think. I flashed that over with odin which worked. That then came up with a different message something to do with kies and downloading software error.so I re flashed one of the firmwares I downloaded the German leaked version and it worked. So now I'm running kit kat.
