I just cannot troubleshoot the issue. Battery is charging, but there's the red X on top of it..
Anybody knows what it means?? I've already changed the usb cable, the previous one it didn't charge at all..

If you're trying to charge by USB and not the OEM wall charger, you need a filter like the one described in this thread so your note charges as if it was plugged into a high powered charger. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088369 if you're seeing the red x using the OEM wall charger, contact Samsung. Good luck.

Before I got this charge I ran nothing but HTC phones on tmobile. while being plugged into car charger and using gps the battery level goes down fast. It doesn't maintain the charge or add to it while navigating. Is this a samsung thing? Any remedies?

That cannot be right. Make sure your car charger, when it charges your phone, is pulling AC instead of USB.
GPS uses very little juice. Just get the 950ma Motorola charger from Amazon for 5 bucks. Something is messed up if your phone doesn't charge

Mine doesn't discharge, but it doesn't charge hardly at all. I'm using the Verizon dual port charger (the one that has a USB port on it as well as the standard charging end)

I use a Monoprice 2A USB charger with an OEM USB cable. Charges extremely slowly or just stays level, but never drains.

With GPS on, you barely Charge with that charger? I know its limited by the kernel at 800mA or so, but damn, that should charge you up fine.
I rock GPS in the car all the time and I still Charge pretty quickly...

All depends on what you're running at that time-4G, cell and GPS reception, etc.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda premium
Make sure you are using a high amp charger. I like the one from Motorola.
Even so, with 4g and the screen on - the phone charges slowly. Turn the screen off and it charges much quicker.

Today my inspire stopped charging. It shows the charging indicator but battery doesn't get any charge, it keeps draining instead..
It is not the wall charger because I connected it to the PC and the same thing..

Try a new battery. Call att and see if they will send you a new one. Batteries don't last forever.

Are the three stock batteries. If you can, try the stock battery in another cell.

My Inspire does nor charge from pc or wall charger with a data capable cable if I leave all the radios on. In airplane mode it will or if I use a cable that has data disabled. When in usb charge mode, the phone will charge at 500 mA max, which may not be enough to power the phone and charge the battery .

have you tried a different micro-usb charger?
So a post was made because it won't charge ? O god I don't want to live on this planet anymore

it might be the USB CABLE as i had the same problem..
my phone shows that it was charging with the orange LED light on, but the battery would'nt recharge. But after getting a new USB CABLE, it started charging.
so I suggest you to try/buy a new USB Cable
this site is quickly becoming a general user troubleshooting and help forum. maybe if people just called the phone manufacturer first most of thier problems would be fixed faster haha

I know for a fact that the USB cable is the problem because I used a WD MyPassport cable to charge my phone and it worked fine, but the original cable was showing all signs of charging when it was actually discharging it

Very true about the usb cable, also I've learned that sometimes the contacts inside of the charging port become very dirty and if you have a brush small enough you could potentially resolve the issue of it not charging....then there's also the problem with it possibly being the battery, my mother, sister, and fiancee all have or had issues with the batteries and had 2 of them replaced.

So i just updated my rom to a jelly bean rom and it wont charge unless i power off the tablet, when its on and i put it to charge it makes the charging noise but a red x appears on the battery icon. I thought at first it was the rom but i tried another rom and it continues to do the same thing can anybody help me please
This is not a software problem may there is an issue with the charger or the connector have tried replacing the charger

How are you trying to charge it? If you've connected the USB to a computer it will show the red X. It needs the Mains charger to charge while it's on.

im charging it on the stock wall charger that it came with. it only charges if i power off the tablet
Then that sounds like a wierd software problem. I am going to take a shot in the dark and recommend you back up your tablet then reload your rom and see if that helps. When did this issue first start happening?

Hey guys. I didn't use my note for a week or so and it's battery fully drained. When I tried charging it using the wall charger the screen would turn on give that charging indicator for about 4 seconds and then the screen would turn off and then would. repeat the whole process. I kept it plugged in for about two hours, removed the charger booted up the note and found out it charged only 10%. So I plugged in the wall charger again, and I noticed an x symbol over the battery indicator on the note 10.1. After this I tried using my OTG devices on the note also but even they wouldn't be recognized. Has anyone else encountered suck a problem. Is there any solution?

The thing you need to look out is your output current. Recommended output is 5V 1A, it will still charge if you go higher like 1.5A or even 2.1A. Otherwise, it would not charge just like your situation. Hope it helps.
