Android system destroying battery - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I am bone stock unrooted. This is my battery life today on my third charge cycle since odining to stock. I did a factory reset when I flashed. "root and flash X rom" is not the answer I am looking for. Thanks

Night and Day Difference After Recovery Reset

Hey ladies and gentlemen, I thought I'd share this piece of info for anyone that's unhappy with his/her Infuse due to performance/bug errors on the stock rom. I recently was feeling the same way until I did a full restore back to the stock build through recovery. This changed my Infuse experience 100%. My battery lasts about 2-3 times longer, and the phone has Zero lag. If you're having the issues I was after getting it stock from AT&T, I'd suggest trying this before becoming totally po'd with the phone. I'm not entirely sure what this fixed, but I did clear out the dalvik cache along with all the other info. Hope it helps!
Probably un-crufted RFS. That filesystem is known for performance degradation over time, hence Voodoo Lagfix for ext4 conversion.

So you are running 100% stock? And it has better battery than rom's......I dunno
Explain more. Like you did flash back to with ultimate unbrick or what

I have no experience with the custom Roms for the Infuse, but it's running faster than my old Nexus S now. Also, there was no flash involved. I just did the default recovery image located on the stock phone.
How'd you get to that?

Essentially, yes lol. I just wanted to put it out there though, because it really made a huge difference and may help out all those people with GB thirst because of performance and battery issues.

Camera flash kills phone

As soon as the flash goes off the phone just dies. Its never done this before. Been running cm7 stable for about a year now. Googled it and some say its the led's, some say its a software issue, and some say it's the battery. What y'all think?

Jelly Bean to Gingerbread??

Ok so I'm on slim bean, the newest version & still my battery life is horrible do I was wondering if it was safe to wipe cache/factory reset & flash the new AEON Gingerbread.. I really rely on battery life

You can try, but that never worked for me. I always had to return to stock using a one-click

I wouldn't even try, JB and GB use different file systems I believe. Safest bet is the one click to stock then flash away.

How long have you been on the ROM? Sometimes it takes a day or two to settle. Battery life might improve then. Other factors, such as brightness, overclocking, etc. can also have an effect on battery life. Any of these apply?

Battery won't charge past 82%

When I charge my phone overnight, it doesn't go past 82%. I've tried battery calibration app. I'm running Slim ROM. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?

Bump

i'm guessing you might not like the solution..
1. try a diff battery..easiest
2. reflash rom after factory wipe or
3. bring it back to gb stock; reset; wipe and start over

[Rooting/Bricking Question]

I rooted and unlocked the bootloader of my dads phone using the method found at this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439
I did the root and bootloader unlock, but he stayed fully stock with the stock ROM. If his phone gets the MF1 update and it installs, will it brick or will he just be stock unrooted again?

It won't brick but he will likely lose root access.

Thanks man.
I'll have him download Voodoo Root Keeper and have him protect the root in case. MAYBE it will restore the root.

Just flash bonestock or one of the stock roms and flash mf1. Will get better battery life and lose all the Verizon garbage. I had to flash back to stock to send my phone back and the last two days using it on stock sucks.
