[Q] Arc S problem - General Questions and Answers

I have a problem with my arc s. It shuts itself down saying battery low even though there is charge in it...it wont turn on until u plug it in to charge, bt wen u plug in it'll start charging from where it said it said battery low..for ex: wen there is 12% it'll go down to 0% and turn off but wen u plug in to charge it'll charge from 12%!
And at times the battery level toggles wrongly, while discharge values must decrease instead it toggles up and comes down again ,EX: 15%,14%,15%,14%,13% and so on.
please help i have been experiencing this on GB and ICS too. i got it check at the service center all they said was that the hardware is good and did a facotry reset and gave it back.

[Q] Charging Problem

Hi everyone,
Its not a new issue actually but it start annoying me lately.. My phone never charges full for a long time, it always stops at 96%-97%. I am not talking about when i unplugged it drops to 96% issue, mine not drop or says charged it just stucks at 96% and stay at charging state.. Is there any way to make it work normally??
And i would like to add that i am using MIUI for a while now but i also had this issue with some other roms..
Thanks.
This is normal for the NxS, meant to increase total battery life.
You can "force" it to go to 99/100% by enabling the "keep display active while charging" option in development menu. 96-99/100 will approx take 3-4h using the normal ac cable.
However I'd not recommend that unless you are recalibrating your battery (deleting battery.bin).
thanks for your reply rentaric. i know its normal but i was not asking that. it used to charged 100% and said the phone is charged like then when unplugged it drops to 97% again just like you said.. but now my phone stays at 96% it always stays in charging mode i want to know is there any way to make it work normal again?

Question regarding Battery/Screen.

weird situation?
ok so yesturday i flashed over the new humble.
and well i left it charging iver night.
when i woke up my i disconnected the charger and took off.
when i checked my battery stat and what was using it.
my display was at 49%
i have never had it this low its always 75% and up.
and during the time.i had it down in the 40s. it hardly wasted any battery.
and now i restarted my phone and screen is back to 89% -.-
and i havent used it at all and ita been 4 hours and am down to 88% battery only with phon at idle in my pocket. ohh and i had data off..
wat is going on!?
You need to calibrate your battery. The easiest way to do it is to use the battery calibration app you can get from the Market. Put it on the charger and wait until it is 100%, and before you unplug it, run the calibration app and press the button. After it's done, take it off the charger. For best results, you need to then completely drain the phone without ever plugging it back in and then completely recharge it again without ever unplugging it. However, just doing the initial calibration will help you out a lot.
what do u mean the initial calibration?
and do u know why my display was really low? n stayed like that?
untill i rebooted

Shuts down at ny percentage (( highest 51%))

As i said. It powers down nd shows 0% battery if i try to turn it on at that time.
and just when i plug in the charger it starts charging from where it turned off or below.
Been using 3rd party charger. Wasnt able to get yuphoria charger at the servic centres in my city.
if its a charger problem..
suggest a supportable charger ??
There i wrote it all.. Help me..
Try another charger of 1500mAmp or 1.5Amp
And next time when your phone shutdown randomly just unplug battery for 10 seconds and start then phone, you phone will start at where it turned off then again at shutdown do this process until you reach to 5% or below.
Now wait for automatic shutdown and this time don't turn on your phone until you charge it to 100% in power off mode.
Hope this help you.
And if your phone is rooted then plz tell me I have better methods

So your phone is rooted then download "Root essentials" app and calibrate your battery.
You can also try other battery calibrators
sorry for the late reply.. was a bit busy..
so i callibrated the battery and bought a new charger of op - 2.1 A. Charger tester app shows sufficient electric current for this charger so i think there is no problem with the charger. Now Before battery callibration. Shut down occured at 15% then it moved upto 40%. After Callibration and charging with new charger it shut down at 28% twice.. (( i hope its improving ))

So.. Now.. I hav tried both Cm 12.1 and Cm 13 but in both battery shuts down at 28% or around 28%.. Never below or above.. I hav calibrated battery 7-8 times.. No effect.. Battery is draining from 100 to 60 at a fast rate..

wrong battery perecentage

My phone isnt showing battery precentage right, after left it on charger over night system will 79-90%. But it shows 100% in the recovery and rebooting it back to the system i can see 100%
I'm also experiencing some weird bat readings, it could be both software and hardware built in battery sensor.. Mine problem is related to ROMs I use.. To reset it , Try to completely drain battery to 0% until the phone doesnt want to start anymore.. Then force it into bootloader and choose barcodes , when it turns off repeat.. Until you completely don't kill the bat and phone doesn't have no signs of life. Connect it to charger , preferably some lower power than turbo charger , usb 500-1000mA and don't touch it until its fully charged..

Xperia Z5 not charging properly, random restarts and faulty battery indicator

I just had my Xperia Z5's battery replaced due to it bloating up. After two weeks, I noticed that the battery indicator isn't working properly.
It would go down from 100% really fast (even during standby - not using the phone) but stay around 30% down for a really long time. No difference in usage. Then it also started restarting on its own even during standby. I would check my phone and it would need me to input my pin saying its required after a restart. Another instance, I was still typing out a text message and it restarted on its own. The battery was around 60% before it restarted but after it turns on again the battery indicator showed that its at 40 something %. I don't think the battery would drain that much just from restarting.
Also, just today, it won't charge properly anymore. It will detect the charger, like it would make the sound when you plug it in but the battery icon won't change to the charging icon and the battery will continue to drain. When turned off, it would show the Sony logo then battery level on the screen but will stay at 0% or whatever % it was left at and will continue draining.
So my phone just died earlier and I just went to plug it in hoping it would still work. The battery was stuck at 0% for the longest time so I just went and left it for a few hours. Coming back to it, I noticed that the LED indicator is green. I pressed the power button and it showed 100%, then I tried turning on the phone. It still turned on, showing 100% on the battery icon and could be used like usual.
I can still use the phone, barely, but this issue is really annoying. I'm not even sure if the next time it drains it would charge again.
So far, I've tried:
using a different cable and charger
doing a factory reset
doing a repair via Xperia Companion
But the issue still persists...
Is there anything else I can do on my end to fix this?
You should replace your battery
Hello.
I'm sorry to hear that your Xperia Z5 got this problem.
Here're some personal experiences:
1.Just replace a battery for it.My Xperia Z5 had same issue last month:Its battery lasts for only 2 or 3 hours, and charges much faster than before. Then I think maybe the battery life loss too much,so I bought a battery from taobao(A Chinese Website),then everything's fine just as when I buy it.
2.According to your description, maybe the sub board(It's responsible for charging and data transmission)is broken too.You can find a used one at ebay.
That's all.I hope this message can help you.And...I'm a Chinese so maybe you can't understand my Chinglish(It means "Chinese English" )...Sorry for that.
