ARHD 6.8.0 Task Manager query - HTC Sensation

Hi
I'm using ARHD 6.8.0 with Faux 123 v010+ and Rom Toolbox Pro to overclock to 1.7 and manage memory with the Extreme preset. I'm also using Nova Prime Launcher with HTC Sense 3.6 uninstalled.
I've notice that when I go into the Rom's default Task Manager and I "kill all" tasks, effectively having no Launcher running, when I press the phones BACK button (back arrow), I'm loaded into the screen of an app I previously had open. If I press the back button multiple times, it can cycle back through many apps I've had previously open until it eventually just stays in Task Manager. Or until I press the Home button and the Launcher reloads. Its like the apps are still loaded in memory. Is that just how it works?? Thanks

Choose launcher keeps popping up

Yesterday I installed launcherpro plus on my Sensation. I love the 4x6 grid and smoothness.
Naturally I've selected launcherpro as default when pressing home. However, after a while (possibly after approximately 20 home clicks) it pops up the selection screen for sense and launcherpro. The setting for the default launcher has been lost. I reselect launcherpro as default and it's fine again for a while.
I've tried go launcher, and the same is happening. Sense is not playing along?

That's odd. I have been using LauncherPro for a couple of weeks and it has never forgotten my default launcher.
Try backing up LauncherPro data (in LP Preferences) and then clearing the defaults for the homescreen settings (in the Application Settings) then clearing the data for both Sense's launcher and LauncherPro No idea if it'll work, but it's worth a try...
Did you check make this the default action when it asks which browser? If an operation has more than one option ie Sense and LP android will keep asking until one is set as default.
Thanks for the options, but I still have this problem. Of course I select 'set as default', the issue is that after a while (it seems completely random) it pops up the question what launcher I's like to use. It doesn't remember my setting for Launcherpro.
I've cleared all data for both Sense (2 processes/apps with the name HTC Sense) and Launcherpro. No luck. Annoying. Running 1.28.401.1
Are you using home switcher from the market?

I used it and was able to switch/reset however removed it later because I thought it might interfere. Didn't help.

I'm having the same exact problem too since yesterday. Can't remember if i've updated any app that might have caused this. Mine is more frequent, after selecting go launcher as the default launcher, it pops up again after a few seconds.. Plz help anyone... I'm using Sensation XE with Android Rev 4.1.13 rom with go launcher..
Are you using backed up settings that include the Calendar? I tried bringing my settings over from CM7 to Virtuous Inquisition and it was the calendar causing LP to bomb out - I found this out by starting afresh (deleted app data through app manager) and adding widgets one at a time.
Shame, cos I prefer LP's calendar over the stock one. Bit annoying that LP doesn't get any updates anymore (woulnd't mind seeing some new transition effects).
okay i found out what was wrong... i uninstalled all my recent updated apps using titanium backup, reinstalled them one by one and found out that its was one of my updated app called 'football kaki' that was causing the problem.. i reinstalled an earlier version of that app + data and everything went smooth.
i think the newer version of that app had some disagreements with go launcher..
well guess i hav to settle for the lesser then, at least i dun hav the annoying default launcher pop ups...
mine also happen to suffer this problem...Go launcher btw.
any more idea on how to find the culprit is?
There's a chance launcherpro is crashing, it gives you the option to use sense if it ctashes

[Q] LeeDroid 3.2.1 Issue

I have an Inspire 4G running LeeDroid 3.2.1 and I have the Add-on that has Sense 3.0, Rosie 3D(etc.) The issue I'm having is that when I press on "Personalize" the screen goes back to the homescreen so I am not able to use this Add-on. The only part that is working is the cuztomized lockscreen from the add-on(The ROM is working fine tho). I see all the .APK files thru Astro Manager but when I click on them it says on "Browse file" - Directory Empty and on "Open App Manager" and try to Launch it says "Activity not Found". Thanks anyone that can give me any help.
go into your application settings and find the sense application then hit the clear data button.
I am having a similar problem with the All in 1 the post says to clear all the sense apps by using the application manager, but what apks do you clear to make this all in one work?

You clear them by going to menu, settings, applications, manage all apps, and clear HTC sense data. That's it. Hope this helps.

cant lock "default launcher"

Hi all..I am using launcherpro plus, and after I get my phone all set up....everytime I select the home button, it takes me back to stock launcher, I have even set the home button to do nothing when pressed, and it still sends me to the default stock launcher, can someone that uses launcher pro help me with this?....Thanks in Advance....very weird deal.....
Did you clear the default home? Set launcher pro as default?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
all i did was launch home switcher app, and click on launcher pro, and choose set default...is there something I am missing?...thanks a bunch...Dirtylarry
Do it the old fashioned way, just to be sure.
Go menu > settings > applications > manage applications. Find HTC sense, then go in and click on clear defaults.
Hit home button, select the launcher you want, making sure you have ticked 'use as default action' or whatever the option is.

Update: I cleared the defaults in the settings/applications/manage/htc sense/...but when I do that and hit the home button(which normally would ask which home launcher to use), the phone fast reboots, and comes back to htc sense home stock launcher....hmmm.....
Hmmm indeed.
I'd try reinstalling launcher pro.

Just tried reinstalling....same thing..

Try installing another launcher to see if launcher pro is the prob, or something else
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
Ok....I downloaded adw...and then when I hit home button the phone asked which of the three launchers to use as default...I then chose launcherpro.....and all is good....thanks for the help....maybe this should be stickied for others that might have this problem.....Dirty

[Q] After exiting browsing - FC\RESTART occuring

As I wrote, after I exit the browser, for example, dolphin hd, even though it happened to me in SKYFIRE and with XSCOPE.Just when I'm exiting FC (I think it is called) ot restart[?!] appears to me a white screen with green lettering of HTC and then it goes main table and takes a while for things to catch up.
Why does this happen?
What can I do?
I have SENSATION TMOBILE 4G, Android 2.3.4 Sense 3. Stock rom.
Thanks in advance
Are you using any memory apps? Have you been pressing home instead of exiting the app?Do you have millions of SMS? All of these are possible causes...
Its down to memory allocation,Forces HTC Sense out of memory (OOM) if you use spare parts apk you can set it to the lowest preset (opposite to aggressive) and it should fix it

memory apps? i have "easy task killer " and advanced task killer"
i'm exiting thruogh the "exit" option .
there is no millions of sms , only about 20 [new phone ]
So download spare parts and do what you write?
Your sensation kills the home screen cuz it needed ram... There are probably too many apps running in the background

Try not to use task killers because they actually waste battery life by killing tasks that have a service which enables them again anyway, causing more battery drain as the service and app is restarted

OK
i'll uninstall them.
BTW - should I use the stock task manager?
Is there anything else I can do to avoid that again?
Don't use any task manager,if you really want to kill apps then use HTCs one built in to sense

How to change HOME button app list delay.

Please forgive me if this has been asked before. I couldn't find anything related.
In later versions of Sense, the home screen app list is becoming the preferred way as apposed to recent apps in notification bar (which is my preferred way). But it's slow I think. There is a good 2 seconds before app list comes up after I keep home button pressed.
Is there any way to decrease this delay?

Oh btw, I'm on a custom rom, rooted, s-offed, the whole nine yards.

I want to know this too. I searched a bit, but did not find anything.
Mods, could you please move this to general android development or mods section?

I also need to know if it's possible to reduce the time between pressing home key and app list showing... On Android 4.1+ the "switch" button is very useful and instantaneous. Maybe there is a setting to change in some configuration file?
