How to change HOME button app list delay. - HTC Sensation

Please forgive me if this has been asked before. I couldn't find anything related.
In later versions of Sense, the home screen app list is becoming the preferred way as apposed to recent apps in notification bar (which is my preferred way). But it's slow I think. There is a good 2 seconds before app list comes up after I keep home button pressed.
Is there any way to decrease this delay?

Oh btw, I'm on a custom rom, rooted, s-offed, the whole nine yards.

I want to know this too. I searched a bit, but did not find anything.

Mods, could you please move this to general android development or mods section?

I also need to know if it's possible to reduce the time between pressing home key and app list showing... On Android 4.1+ the "switch" button is very useful and instantaneous. Maybe there is a setting to change in some configuration file?

custom power bar

is there one out there or can someone make it.
looking for a power widget like the stock one for the sensation. but can it include mobile networks on/off and maybe remove the gps icon.
I think there is Power control or something like that... just search in the market, you get to see many...i use the Quick settings Tab, no need to waste space on the home screen.
Try widgetsoid, extended controls, powerplus

Camera button

Are there any apps where I can use one of the volume buttons to act as a camera button and take the picture?

I wish we had a way to route the volume button to take pictures.
I don't think there is any app to do this.

CM7 usually opens up that functionality. Hopefully that comes soon.

Certain roms I believe have this feature. Look in settings then look in system then go to hardware keys and see if your rom has the ability to create a short cut to the camera through custom actions. Or see if you can assign short cuts through settings. Certain roms will allow this. Also , you can look in the play store and see if certain camera applications have the ability to assign short cuts. This is possible. You will have to do some searching but I believe certain play store camera applications will allow this. Also you can try the application "quicker" it allows camera and video short cuts.although I'm not sure which keys. Just take a look. I'm sure there are other apps like quicker available too. It will just take some searching. I Hope this helps you out. Best wishes.

You guys do realize that this thread is over a year old? I think it wouldn't be too hard to modify the camera.apk to take pictures with the volume key. Someone did something similair for the Xperia Play, with the shoulder button instead of the volume button.

[REQ][MOD]Remove 3 dot menu for 1.84: long press home for menu, stock recent apps map

Looking to implement this on 1.84; I understand the keyboard layout remappings involved but I'm not sure how to modify policy for the long press home functionality.
So, if anyone could assist me in creating this (I'm a C# dev, but haven't ever tried to do anything on android), or already has it, assistance would be greatly appreciated!

There's a patch in the 3 dot thread already and I've seen a description of the procedure in the linked One X thread

Click to collapse
OK...somewhere in the thread is the link to the One X thread documenting long press modifications. It's not just text files like the menu remap, you need to dissassemble modules to make the changes (search for smali/backsmali)

CM10 app settings

Hello all,
I recently installed CM10 nightly cm-10-20121012-nightly-evita on my HTC One XL. pretty much everything works great and I am liking the experience. Now I am coming from older cm7 tablet background and very new to HTC One X and CM10 etc. What I find missing is a missing settings button in the applications that I am used to which helps me configure the app. Am I missing something or is there a new way to get things configured ?
An example would be a simple app called basic stock. I add a stock to it and can not add any more stocks because there is no settings button. On my cm7 tablet I am able to do it easily. Similar experience with many other apps.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Deepee
Go to the settings app, when in there look for system and click on it. On the bottom it should say hardware keys, click on that.
At the bottom should be the setting for 3 button menu and I would advise to set another action with the home or apps button to bring up the menu with long press.

i always remap the keys and also enable the 3dot, i think these should be set as the default settings.

My Apps Play Store

This might be a stupid question but.
I have 4.2.1 now on my HTC One S thanks to Dark Jelly, but how do I get to My Apps, and My Wishlist in the playstore?
I'm not sure how that rom exactly works, but try holding down the recent apps button for context menu.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Yea holding that down does nothing.
Might be a problem with the ROM, not sure. I guess I should post over there.
*yup, a setting on the rom.
Settings-- system-- hardware keys
From there you can set one of the keys to be a shortcut to the menu (long press recent apps key is what I use). Hope that is what you're looking for...
