This tutorial is about turning your android phone into an ip cam. By this method you can use your android phone camera as a security camera. It’s easy. Follow these steps.
1) Download “Ip Webcam” to your android device. It’s free on play stores. You can download it by visiting this link.
2) Start a wifi hot spot with your android device and connect your pc to that wifi hot spot.
3) Open IP Webcam app in your android device.
3) Click on “Start Server”. Application will start a video feed and give you a ip address and a port for that feed.
4) Now place your android device anywhere within the wifi network range.
5) Open your web browser in the PC. Enter the IP Address and the port in the address bar. (This is the Ip Address that was generated by the IP Webcam application before). As seen on above screen shot it is http://192.168.3.198:8080.
6) Now click on use java browser plugin like the above image. If it asks for your permission please give permissions for the application.
That’s all. You can now see the live video feed from your android device from your pc.
Thanks for reading. Reps and bumps are accepted.:yes:

New app just popped up, 'Awesome Drop'. You just open the app on your phone, then go to http://labs.dashwire.com/drop and put the access code from the page onto your phone and drop files right into your browser and they get transfered to your phone. No account, just simple file transfer wherever you are.

neat, thanks
useful if you don't have the usb cable with you
This can be used to send files I have to my friends with Android phones. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
This is great, just hope the site is able to stay up from the strain of a lot of concurrent file transfers.
Yeah I've had this for a little while, it's handy for transferring small files, but I noticed it tends to choke/hang on files over 100 megs.
How?

it's a one way app, use 'websharing' or something like that if you want 2-way
Actually quite awesome.
I wish the reverse was possible though.
A tab that you could open and then drop files from a built in file exp. into the drop box.
Well, the only thing that stops me of using this "Awsome Drop" is the lack of Opera.
But that might be the lack of HTML5 support from Opera, rather then the app. and website creators fault thou..Even thou Opera 10.60 was a "giant step" towords "full" HTML 5
heres a video that i did on the application to give users visual on how easy this really is:
Hi agian!
I couldnt wait on Opera Software or the app website too like each other so I downloaded a firefox.paf.exe too the computer I was using yesterday. And it worked like a charm, the only thing Im woundering about is when the "prossesbar" at the website is finished the prossesbar in the app. isnt full.Does the prossesbar installed and running on the phone view an other prosses?Like total amount how many MiB Ive downloaded or how much I can download to my cell before its full?
Just use drop box.... and share folders with friends...

Hello,
I'd like to present you an early beta of my app, which aim to help people sharing photos anonymously.
With so many android devices around the world, if only a fraction of them would take a pic, we could get an exciting stream of photo.

-in landscape you can take pictures.
If you like photos, android, the app can be found in the market:

Any comments, suggestions, bug logs appreciated.
sadly no one interested? I really wish I could get a tester per country.
I'll play! IS this app similar to 'Color'?
well I haven't had the chance to try 'Color' so I can't tell =)
This app is really just for fun, I hope you'll like it. Don't forget to take some pictures
How long should it take to upload & show in the app? Just tried a snap about 5min ago?
it should take just a few seconds
(remember you need to click on the capture screen to actually take the picture, and then validate the confirmation popup)
Yep, can confirm I did that. Will try one more
Good luck. You should get an "upload ok" message if the upload succeeded though
I must have missed this last time; I get "upload failed: null"?
This is a bug then.
Try this: go in google maps or navigation to initialize your location.
And then come back and try to upload a pic again.
I know that sounds weird but it might help me actually =) thanks
Okay just tried that, same error I'm afraid :/
damn. I'm gonna work on it. thanks for your time.
No probs. Fyi, I'm running CM7 on a ZTE Blade.
were you on wifi?
Yes I was. Though I've just had a successful upload. It may have been my install as I just ran fix permissions, reboot & it worked!
OK
(Go ubuntu!)
Hehe, the app looks promising mate - good luck with the development!
thanks, hope you'll enjoy it.
This item cannot be isntalled in your device's country...
open it up maybe? ^_^
I will give it a shot! ..
Will report on it
Hi all xda-developers. I'm posting here a little application (Free) that I made because of my Reef Aquarium and I thought that I could share that application with everyone on Google Play.
For my aquarium be perfect ok I need electricity. The problem is that everyone have power outages, so I must know when I have a power outage at home to be able to go there and fix for a solution.
So this widget can monitor any Modem/Router connected to internet. For example if you have internet at home you will be notified when that internet connection is lost, and if that happens that means that I have no electricity or I have no internet connection, In any case is a useful information that I have.
Technically speaking this widget will monitor any IP address,URL, Domain name. That means anything connected to the internet.
You don’t need any computer connected to the internet for the connection be established, so you don’t spend energy.

Works with same reliability as the paid version;
Simple to use;
It’s completely free =)

Hi everyone I just wanted to post this project here since I will be working on it and would like to welcome both Android developers and Web Developers the option to contribute. The idea behind this project is to create a signage or kiosk app for android that is controlled by a web based CMS. The good news is I have a working implementation of this now and I am actually using this in production at my place of employment.
Features of the Client as it is now include:
Slideshow style background
RSS ticker
Weather
Logo
Digital Clock
Embeded web content
Force rotation(useful on some android sick pc's like mk808)
Features of the CMS are:
Public API
Ability to control client configuration
GitHub Links!
The Client(Android App)
The Server(CMS)
This is what the Client looks like.

I'ts been a while since I've updated it for a few reasons.
I've been busy with my day job.
It should work as is.
It did'nt seem like there was much need for this.
That being said, I'll put up some updates but feel free to fork the project.
Is there anything you think this needs specifically?
Thanks for your answer!
Is it possible to run server on a production lamp server?
Can you make a apk of the client, I can 't seem to get it compiled.
If I get it up and running I will sure give you some feedback!
If this works good then it's exactly what we need.

No problem. Did you check out the wiki for the server and the app?
My set up on the server is Debian/Apache/Mysql/php5 so yes it should work an a LAMP stack.
What errors are you getting when building the client?
Will check tomoorow on my work have logs there.., in mean time can you compile one for me so I can test it?
I fixed the client issues, now I have a server issue, if I try to login with my registered credentials, nothing happens.. just stays on login screen.. checked if user is created in mysql and it is.. if I type in wrong password server also tells me password is wrong.. what can it be?
It was 2009, I create a project to enable the apk icon show up in wondows
it's been a while I left the project, but now I restart it and re-write all the code with a native apk reader (20 times faster), and I have added several important features.
it's still free and open source on github
it's keeping small size, only one dll is needed. (around 600k)
it even shows ipa (iOS) appxbundle (windows phone) package icons.
I'm still adding new amazing features...

this one will definitely satisfy you
I've been using your app since 3 years ago and I love it!
Thanks for all your hard work!
By the way you might wanna look into fixing the A record for your domain, browsing to apkshellext.com or http://apkshellext.com doesn't work, only www.apkshellext.com works. I recommend setting up the www as the CNAME rather than using A record, which I'm guessing is what is currently setup.

thanks, I see it now. I was working but somehow it doesn't work now. I made a domain forwarding to let apkshellext.com direct to www.
And I made some update, check the site for update.
@allangoing
Any update to this? Seems to have stopped working with "Newer" APKs.
