Every 4.2.2 Rom does not network in as much as it will not find my Operator (O2 UK) nor any apns and I am unable to enter a APN manually and after a reboot I have to manually search for O2 again

Was going to make a thread, but you already done that, good job.
For anyone out there who could help, I don't have superCID, could this be the problem?
Just to confirm, it seems people with firmware 3.32 have no problem?
Seems someone else having similar problem [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036229&page=771].
Hi,
Just a thought.
Albino updated to 4.2.2 on 0215 version.
Have you tried installing version 0214 or earlier(version 0209 had something different in the firmware department) ,and then, dirty flashing a later 4.2.2 version?
I dirty flashed 0216 over a clean install of 0209.
I have tried all 3 4.2.2 Roms all the same result "no data"
I have tried 3.32 with unlocked bootloader. No joy
I have tried 3.33. No Joy
Getril does nothing
I have super CID 11111111
I have tried dirty flash of albino over jellybam No Joy
some guy on albinoman thread on oO2 has fw that is different to mine and lava and ends M2. He says he got it from O2 as a OTA. I have googled and gooled but cabt find it anywhere

And why is it that Jellybam works brill but not any of the 4.2.2
Hi guys, still no luck.
But I was thinking and came up with a possible cause for this problem. As for as I know that in the UK, O2 is the only operator which shares its service with a bunch of other carriers (e.g. Tesco, GiffGaff)? Therefore requires us to select the correct APN when installing the ROM, I think HTC sense ROMs does this after fresh flash. Anyway, since we need to select APN and it does seem to be working in CM10.1 (can't add new APN settings), could this be the reason why this ROM is getting no signal for us?
I am aware there are still a lot of flaw in this assumption, but it is the best I can come up with. I am just waiting for APN to be fixed to check if this is indeed the problem.
PS: anyone tried SuperXE-Intact-AOSP 4.2.2 ROM? Since it is AOSP maybe APN could be working there. I vaguely remember it wasn't working either when I last flashed it, will test later if no one has already

I have tried Super XE and same problem
I cant speak for Lava but I am on 4EXT recovery
I would of thought Tesco and giffgaff share with O2 rather than O2 share with them

Hi,
Have you tried changing the recovery?
Try TWRP ,and see if that helps.
I know you tried everything else, this is just a different approach.
Is TWRP a straight download and install from google play
I still think its the FW that the guy on albinoman thread has on O2 that is different to mine he has 11.69A.3504.00P_11.23.3504.07_M2 but I cant find it anywhere

Hi,
I used KOHR-AH'S 3.33 UNIVERSAL FIRMWARE
Installed TWRP and strangly enough it said there was a update for my rom of cm10.1 19th. The strange thing was I have been on Jelly Bam for last 2 days ??
Flashed a couple of 4.2.1 roms Cm 19feb and superXE 4.2.1 and another one I cant remember and all work absolutly no problem.
Tried Super XE 4.2.2 and no data and clock FC.
My FW 11.76A.3504.00P_11.24A.3504.31_M. Which is the correct radio but how do I check the 3.33 bit. Going to flash FW 3.33 anyway and try again.
Reflashed FW 3.33 via bootloader screen. No difference. All the 4.2.1 work no problem but none of the 4.2.2 work with data. Just running round in circles now and running out of ideas except for finding that FW 11.69A.3504.00P_11.23.3504.07_M2

Yeah, Tesco and GiffGaff are using O2 to provide their service. I said it because they are using the same hardware, but O2 needs to add in additional ways to detect if someone is their customer or Tesco's customer if that make sense. The additional "check" or "validation" by O2 might conflict with 4.2.x maybe?

Pull them out of this upload.
If you read through I believe someone made an update.zip for the radio. As for the hboot you'll just have to fastboot flash it and hope for the best. I did not do it that way, I flashed the update in the traditional way.

hboot should NOT be needed unless it is somehow tied into fixes (wouldn't know how). It is a new one and I cannot see why TMO would update it unless it was important so really it's up to you to flash or not.
Radio should be updated as I believe this is what fixes data issues. I had NO issues with data out and about today.
Well I've never had data issues but I guess I'll update it to. Thanks
Gonna mirror this on my personal ftp. Link incoming.

Just did a pretty quick test for radios on CM10 for Rogers in Toronto.
5 tests. No moving from location. Tests are all within 10 minutes.
2.29 O2 Radio Average
38.06 mb/s DL
18.30 mb/s UL
2.40 Telestra Radio Average
37.13 mb/s DL
14.18 mb/s UL
So, I'm sticking with the O2 one.

I can confirm LTE isnt working. You can toggle lte off under mobile settings , and hspa+ will work. I remember this happened on another stock rom and the problem (IIRC) was with the apn settings in the framework. Hopefully it gets patched soon

Actually, please don't. I tried using an at&t radio and it did NOT fix the issue. I figured it would since the telstra radio also wouldn't work on my nandroid-restored rom. However, on this rom, either one won't work.

I knw this post is seriously old but nobody replied so i thought i would add my bit for anyone else who wondered the same.
The files on that site are ruu exe files yes but if you run the exe and wait for it to extract all the files you then go to your usernames temp folder on c drive and find the temp folder it extracted to and pull the zip file named 'rom' from it.
as for what it would do to your s-off status from flashing a stock rom, i dont know.

Steve, did you succeed in whatever you were planning for your HTC Desire S? I am downloading 2 RUUs right now and I hope to flash my S-ON, Unrooted, Desire S on Android 4.0 back to Android 2.3
(I hope it is as easy as that)

Android 4.4? Wow. Good to know. About going back to 2.3, its a personal thing. I am not comfortable entering my bank passwords in a custom ROM and the official 4.0 is a burden on the phone. So, I decided to go back to 2.3.
I've never tried the official ice rom although I did get on very well with another ics rom I ran untill jelly bean and kitkat roms became stable. I understand your concerns about security, its for that very same reason that all the banks apps will not install on a rooted device.
I dont use any of that stuff, I leave all that to the wife so, im free to do what I want worrie free lol.
another bonus is that my desire s is not my every day phone (I have a HTC Win phone for that) so nothing personal, no photos that matter, no contacts, nothing is on the device.
I use the desire a bit like a teeny little tablet if you like.
Android is better than win phone in a LOT of respects but win phone is faster and 100% stable all of the time so that gets used as my phone plus it has a physical keyboard and I absolutely hate using on screen keyboards!

You could flash a custom Rom that it is similar to stock Rom so it could have more features on it. So you should try different sense roms.

yes i try it
I have TMOUS HTC One S.
Unlocked boot loader and installed TWRP with "HTC ONE S AIO KIT". Phone works properly. I can reboot to recovery and do backup, restore, etc.
But when I try to flash ROM I get this error:

After that my phone won't boot and I need to restore my NAND Backup. I tried with several roms and every time I get the same error.
What is that I am doing wrong?
2.4.3.0 has had issues, try fastbooting it
or fastboot an earlier version like 2.3.3.0--it was pretty stable

I flashed TWRP v2.3.0.0 and I get the exact same error.

Also, S-ON shouldn't matter as long as your bootloader is unlocked...the only thing S-ON would affect, is the fact that you would need to flash the boot.img separately, but that wouldn't cause the ROM flash to display errors your receiving...fastboot flash a new recovery, reboot your bootloader, open your new recovery, completely wipe, and try again, using 2.4.1.0 or 2.4.1.1.

-.I do notice some strange things. After first boot phone resets itself
-. If I try to enter recovery by "adb reboot recovery" I can only enter on my second attempt or third. .It doesnt always enter to recovery.
Thanks again!

Was asking bc didn't know if you could have gotten an S3 that way. I know nothing of the S3's except for processor speed is 1.7 I believe. But, if you flashed NRG it must be S4.
If you still have issues I would reformat sdcard, backup to pc first. I would then wipe all in recovery 3X to include System. Then reflash rom.

It is definetly an S4 One S... it's from TMOUS and also checked it with Quadrant.
With the suggested TWRP I am able to flash ICS roms and JB roms (after flash zip I need to fastboot boot.img). The problem is that I can't get back to ICS roms with nandroid backup.
Now I am using Viper One S 2.1 but my 3G and HDSPA speeds are real slow! So I want to go back to NRG rom but if I restore my nandroid backup my screen stays blank after HTC screen.
What can I do? RUU back?
the same thing happened to me, what hboot boot are u on, now that we have s off i had just updated to hboot 2.15 and i couldn't flash viper 2.1 so using the same recovery 2.4.3.0 ( now that we have s off and flashable hboots i just flashed back to good old reliable 1.09 and i successfully flashed viper, o and im running viper 2.1 and im on t mobile i get up to 18mbps, i got the build prop details if u want to keep viper because i love my viper and i would not changing for anything even wifi hotspot is working on this rom
Right now i am on HBOOT 1.14
I was trying differebt radios but i still dont get the 3g signal of my stock rom.
I am no in tmobile network, i live in chile and our networks use 3g 850/1900 and not AWS like tmous...
I am going back to ics with RUU... Will root and start over...

probably with the cm or sense radio installers in the dev section--
they are put into System on your phone

Yes, just like rugmank said there is a flashable zip called "Temporary Radio Installer V2" that helps you change the radio on JB sense based roms. It's great.
Do you know if I still need to match my RIL to my RADIO?
Regards.
Im not sure, I have always gotten satisfactory results, by getting the latest radio and even more so by editing the build prop this last one can change the speed drasticly do u have the values for your location and carrier?

My Australian-bought XT1033 (dual sim) got Kitkat today.
System version is:
171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03
Looking into installing CWM - got adb working so will flash recovery and take a nandroid.
update: bah, just found that unlocking bootloader would void my warranty and requires a unique key from Motorola, so sorry, can't install CWM - phone is too new to void warranty until I'm sure it doesn't have any faults (this is my first non-Nexus phone so didn't realise bootloader unlocking would be so irritating).
edit: lol, looks like its already here on the forums, cool.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639384
I don´t know why, but my G isn´t installing this update on stock recovery and isn´t upgrading when using OTA updates. It always says that an error occurs, but never show me any error code. Anyone is having this issue?
Another strange thing, is that when I plug my device on my notebook, it doesn´t recognize which version of android I´m running.
I´ve flashed Blur_Version.14.91.9.falcon_umtsds.Brasil.en.BR and stills the same thing. Any help would be great
Thanks in advance.

Hi, will this work on locked and unlocked phones?
Doubt
Hi!
Could I use this ROM if I brick my phone? I do really intend to install CM11, but I'm afraid if something goes wrong what should I do. As long as I know, the RSD Lite doesn't recognize our Mogo G, is there another safe (and easy) way to recover our phone as factory default?
Another newbie doubt, if we do install a ROM (let's say, one of the Motorola site - http : // sbf.droid-developers.org / phone.php?device=14 -without spaces]) we will have our bootloader locked back?
Thanks!

I have the same XT1033 dual sim with 16GB and updated it to KitKat OTA. My Moto G was a grey import (into Australia) destined for India (it came with a Motorola charger and handsfree).
The system version is: 171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03. This update does not break USB OTG functionality, it's the same update that was rolled out in India. It now shows OTG capability in Settings > Storage (see the bottom where it says USB Disk). I haven't used it yet, but here's a video below demonstrating it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QLD8OknwyM
Here is a request to those that have updated to KitKat, is the OTG working after the update and which version was it?
And can someone upload the "171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip" update. I want to unlock and root, but also want to be able to return to the original stock rom later.
If you haven't updated yet, I think you can pull the file after you've downloaded it from the /Cache/ directory using adb. After downloading it, it will ask you whether to update later, choose later then pull the file to the desktop. I forgot to do this step...
Thanks :victory:
/EDIT
Nevermind, the Motorola naming of updates had me confused. The file that I was after was actually "Blur_Version.14.85.4.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip" which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49390749&postcount=1
When updated the version and baseband will be:
Baseband: MSM8626BP_1032.355.66.00R
System: 171.44.31.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03
Kernel:3.4.0-g9f5dcdc

Just be prepared to do a bit of reading and research on the device and what you want to do with it. After a few years away from all this it can be a little overwhelming for me. If you can understand the process and learn from the mistakes others have made, you'll avoid them yourself. Be patient and think ahead, be sure of what you are doing and why then you won't have too many problems.
