Nandroid of Stock TMOUS 1.84 Rooted - HTC One S

Like the Title says, stock rooted Nandroid of the latest software version for those of you that don't want to deal with reverting to install.
NOTE: This does NOT have the latest radio or hboot. You will need to flash those separately.
Dropbox Suspended this link due to to many downloads.

Thanks for the share! Does this have any of your personal data on it, like Google account / passwords? If so, I am downloading this now to steal your stuff! Lol jk, I would not do that!! Just making sure all is good, one person posted a nandroid with his personal info haha! Thanks again. I will not need to use it as I'm very satisfied with my LeeDroid setup ATM (radio pulled from new update and new OC LowKernel).

thanx works perfectly

Pull them out of this upload.
If you read through I believe someone made an update.zip for the radio. As for the hboot you'll just have to fastboot flash it and hope for the best. I did not do it that way, I flashed the update in the traditional way.

hboot should NOT be needed unless it is somehow tied into fixes (wouldn't know how). It is a new one and I cannot see why TMO would update it unless it was important so really it's up to you to flash or not.
Radio should be updated as I believe this is what fixes data issues. I had NO issues with data out and about today.

Well I've never had data issues but I guess I'll update it to. Thanks

Gonna mirror this on my personal ftp. Link incoming.

then install the new Nandroid of Stock TMOUS 1.84 Rooted from here...

You will need the stock recovery for the Ota to work.
I got that too. The update wasn't supposed to fix much. I remember for the Nexus One, developers used to repackage the updates as flashable zips, and I'm surprised that nobody did that.
Ok that makes sense, I have done some searching and can not find where to get the stock recovery, do you know a thread that has one posted? Thanks
What exactly does it fix ? Or where can i find a log or more info on it ??

The 2nd link is the stock recovery.
The OTA update will also fail to install if /system/build.prop has been modified. If so, just restore the original and try again.

Some have reported they got the update after going back to stock recovery and performing a factory reset of the device.

Yes sir, tried that as well... now with the stock recovery is looks as though its going to install the update (when booting into recovery) but then a exclamation point appears with the device in the background. When i jump back to the option that are listed in the stock recovery it tells me that it was unable to mount the SD card and every option that i select just reboots the device.
I would just try to install a stock debloated ROM from the dev section, they'll be updated to the newest firmware anyway plus you'll get rid of all the boat.

Just did a pretty quick test for radios on CM10 for Rogers in Toronto.
5 tests. No moving from location. Tests are all within 10 minutes.
2.29 O2 Radio Average
38.06 mb/s DL
18.30 mb/s UL
2.40 Telestra Radio Average
37.13 mb/s DL
14.18 mb/s UL
So, I'm sticking with the O2 one.

VRLHE modem (CWM zip): link removed, my hosting is nonexistent. Luckily http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-of...zon-sgs3-sch-i535-odin-or-recovery-flashable/
I grabbed the update.zip from my phone and applied only the modem patch, then used dd to extract the modem. Since I didn't get this from a full Odin there's no Odin version.
Speaking of update.zip,
VRALG7 to VRALHE OTA update.zip: http://www.multiupload.nl/S7PHZONUGG
for dev/curiosity purposes. Obviously its original filename was update.zip.
I have the HD ROM that I flashed via ODIN and when I try to install the HE zip, it gives me an error saying its looking for version G7 (which was the last OTA). Anyway I could easily go from HD to HE? I know a lot of other people on here are also using HD.

Actually, I'm wondering if there's a real difference between HD and HE.
The support docs on the Verizon site that lists the new features in HE, such as zooming in the email app, which will expand or condense you email list, is actually working in HD. The build date is a month different, so makes me wonder if HD could of been the tester version, and HE is the release version.
im more of the mindset of it is not jelly bean i dont care ill test the modem out but i probably wont use the rom

Download this file, extract the two files from there and flash the tar file in ODIN (you will lose root and revert to stock firmware but everything will be working and you won't lose your data).
Link Here
After doing that, do not reroot yet. Download the first OTA, let it finish. Then there will be a second OTA bringing you to VRALHE version. After that, root via this method: Link Here and install CWM again from ROM Manager.
I did that same process coming from a Deodexed VRALHD build yesterday.
thanks, it is killing me. the update is silent so you don't even know that it's doing it until it reboots while i'm listening to music.

De-Odex is up!
Odex is uploading now... Will post the link in a bit...
Thanxs Scott, you sexy man you
I'm running the full HD ROM that I flashed a few weeks ago via ODIN.
If I install this HE via CWM, does it reset the phone back to stock, having to reinstall apps and settings, or do they remain intact?
Master Scot,
So many questions:
A. How'd you do that? I thought the update was supposed to be around 30MB?
2. Is it just me, or are these official builds getting bigger? (moar spyware?)
D. Wonder if this fixes the Sbeam issue on VRLHD?
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar! I doff my hat and bid you good day.
Ta,
ALQI
My baseband still shows the VRLG7 even though my build shows VRALHE.....
Shouldn't the baseband change?

1. Do what, make the rooted ROM so quickly? My magic computer does it. Not even me :silly: Seriously though? I had to Go back to G1, take the G7 update, then take the HE update, pray to sweet Jesus it doesn't close root and aboot holes (and it didint!!), then I re-rooted, then I dumped the /system and /boot partitions, then I reassembled them. Bam you got your ROM! And at one point, of course I had to flash TWRP to test them!
2. These ****ing ROMS are huge!
D. I have no clue? Never used it.

This is just a ROM, doesnt change baseband. You can always follow the route I took above to get the correct baseband.

And with that... I need to test mods on this thing and see what, if anything needs rebuilding...

I downloaded the HE ODEX version and installed it in CWM. Coming from HD ROM, I didn't lose any apps or settings. Just make sure you install the HE Baseband Modem as well.

Scot,
Your cleanroms are nothing short of spectacular in terms of performance and stability. Will we ever see a CleanRom based off of HD or HE. I did noticed you just released the ultralight version, I am looking for more of a 2.5 experience but using HE based rom.
I am not asking for dates or anything, just wondering if it is in your horizon.
Thanks for your hard work.
Can anyone running this please tell me what the "enhanced zoom" in the browser is?

Can't flash with TWRP v2.4.3.0

I have TMOUS HTC One S.
Unlocked boot loader and installed TWRP with "HTC ONE S AIO KIT". Phone works properly. I can reboot to recovery and do backup, restore, etc.
But when I try to flash ROM I get this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After that my phone won't boot and I need to restore my NAND Backup. I tried with several roms and every time I get the same error.
What is that I am doing wrong?
2.4.3.0 has had issues, try fastbooting it
or fastboot an earlier version like 2.3.3.0--it was pretty stable

also, assume you are following OP flashing instructions exactly and wiping both caches/factory/system
and check md5

Thanks for your reply but it's not working.
I flashed TWRP v2.3.0.0 and I get the exact same error.
I am flashing properly, wiping, etc.
Don't know what could be wrong... I am S-ON I think.
you have an s4 version phone, right?

Yes, T-Mobile from US so it has to be an S4.

Yea, T-Mobile US is S4 only. I'm using 2.4.1.1, and I have no issues, try that one.

Also, S-ON shouldn't matter as long as your bootloader is unlocked...the only thing S-ON would affect, is the fact that you would need to flash the boot.img separately, but that wouldn't cause the ROM flash to display errors your receiving...fastboot flash a new recovery, reboot your bootloader, open your new recovery, completely wipe, and try again, using 2.4.1.0 or 2.4.1.1.

I installed 2.4.1.1 and flashed correctly NRG rom. Thank you for your help.
-.I do notice some strange things. After first boot phone resets itself
-. If I try to enter recovery by "adb reboot recovery" I can only enter on my second attempt or third. .It doesnt always enter to recovery.
Thanks again!

Was asking bc didn't know if you could have gotten an S3 that way. I know nothing of the S3's except for processor speed is 1.7 I believe. But, if you flashed NRG it must be S4.
If you still have issues I would reformat sdcard, backup to pc first. I would then wipe all in recovery 3X to include System. Then reflash rom.

It is definetly an S4 One S... it's from TMOUS and also checked it with Quadrant.
With the suggested TWRP I am able to flash ICS roms and JB roms (after flash zip I need to fastboot boot.img). The problem is that I can't get back to ICS roms with nandroid backup.
Now I am using Viper One S 2.1 but my 3G and HDSPA speeds are real slow! So I want to go back to NRG rom but if I restore my nandroid backup my screen stays blank after HTC screen.
What can I do? RUU back?
the same thing happened to me, what hboot boot are u on, now that we have s off i had just updated to hboot 2.15 and i couldn't flash viper 2.1 so using the same recovery 2.4.3.0 ( now that we have s off and flashable hboots i just flashed back to good old reliable 1.09 and i successfully flashed viper, o and im running viper 2.1 and im on t mobile i get up to 18mbps, i got the build prop details if u want to keep viper because i love my viper and i would not changing for anything even wifi hotspot is working on this rom
Right now i am on HBOOT 1.14
I was trying differebt radios but i still dont get the 3g signal of my stock rom.
I am no in tmobile network, i live in chile and our networks use 3g 850/1900 and not AWS like tmous...
I am going back to ics with RUU... Will root and start over...

Here is my question how were u changing radios on that hboot (1.14)
probably with the cm or sense radio installers in the dev section--
they are put into System on your phone

Yes, just like rugmank said there is a flashable zip called "Temporary Radio Installer V2" that helps you change the radio on JB sense based roms. It's great.
Do you know if I still need to match my RIL to my RADIO?
Regards.
Im not sure, I have always gotten satisfactory results, by getting the latest radio and even more so by editing the build prop this last one can change the speed drasticly do u have the values for your location and carrier?
