I'm Having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy SIII Verizon, Every 30 days or so I have to do a mater reset because my keyboard won't show at all, whether searching google or writing an SMS it just never pops up, This will be the 3rd time i have had to perform a master reset since december and it's getting old. I am running the stock ROM, non Rooted. Eveything about this phone is stock, Verizon will not replace it because Performing a master reset resolves the issue and the keyboard works immediately after the reset, I've even tried not installing any other apps and used only my on device apps and my Nexus 7 for everything else. and the problem still occurs. I searched the forums for the same issue but came up empty handed and even searched google where I was presented with other issues that were similar, but not the same as what i'm seeing with my device. This has only happened since I upgraded to Jellybean 4.1.1, Baseband I535VRBLK3, Build# JR003L.I535VRBLK3

india got the gingerbread update just a couple of weeks back,
i updated my phone, it worked well for a few days
but now
my keypad freezes when im typing, its very slow now.
i use the default samsung keypad.
i even tried factory resetting the phone, but that didnt work either.
even though i have no apps installed, its slow. YEA, NO EXTERNAL APPS INSTALLED.
Please help
Thanks.
just try out a different keyboard (better keyboard) if the problem persists then its the rom's fault
EDIT2: It seems that it wont remember settings either. I disable WiFi, and after reboot its back on. Same with all other settings. If I uinstall an app, its back in normal function after reboot. If I install a new app, its gone after reboot. And I cant even perform a hard reset, everything back to normal after I tried it... sick stuff!!
EDIT: Actually it seems like it wont accept new installations or something. Because now it found new updates to apps I did upgrade earlier this morning already...
Its the two latest installed apps Im missing after installing them (Swiftkey X and Dolphin Browser HD). Also now Im trying to upgrade my phone to version 4 of android, but after downloading the firmvare, it need a restart and then I have the same problem as with the apps. Its like I never downloaded the firmware, tried 3 times now and all 3 times the same happens. Anyone have similar problems with their phones??
Also noticed that last the phone reset itself it yesterday at approximately 9.04 (that was when my weather app last updated). Really wonder what can cause this? No one with any similar experiences or possible solutions?
Edited for the third time. Apparently Ididn't fix my problem.
So I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.3 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 (p5113***), and for some strange reason, my tablet keeps restarting randomly. I'd be reading a PDF or scrolling through some random app, and it'd suddenly freeze and the tablet would restart.
This all happened after I was typing a message on the Facebook app when it abruptly freezes and puts me through a restart loop that eventually ended. But when I finally got to startup without a crash, I'd see, almost immediately, a notification telling me that "Trebuchet has stopped responding", and my only option is to hit Ok. And I do, and most of the time, it crashes right afterwards.
At first, I was able to 'fix' (I think) this by freeing up space on my internal storage, because an app was on an update loop trying to install an update that was too big for whatever space I had left. I assumed it was eating up memory, space, and RAM and overwhelming my OS, so I uninstalled it and everything worked fine for most of the night. Later, I was reading a PDF file when Adobe just stopped working, froze, and put me through another restsart loop.
Also, I would like to point out that it is extremely difficult to turn this tablet off. It usually loops a few times before shutting down. Also, CM is updated to the latest STABLE update, which is not at all recent.
All this after Facebook crashed. I seriously have no idea what I do, and I would rather not reinstall CM, because it was an ADVENTURE trying to install it the first time, and I heard it's even more difficult and dangerous to uninstall and restore to factory settings. I'm not really good at this stuff.
Please help. Please.
*** Apparently my tablet is p5110, and the version of CM I installed was compatible with p5113, but it managed to work anyways, so I just shrugged and let it happen. And it has been working for the past 14 months, prior to the Facebook crash that started this mess.
Don't mean to bump, but I'm only replying to myself to show that my original post edit is now moot, because the problem resurfaced ... help.
I don't have a solution to you, but will share my own experience on the 5113. I have two of them. One has been stable since I bought it, except for a brief time when it had the awful first 4.2 update, eventually fixed by the MK3 firmware update. It's working fine. My other one has been a nightmare all year long, after six or eight months of stability after I bought it.
I've installed CM on in, in early June. Unstable.
I've installed Omnirom on it shortly afterward. It was more stable, but still not "stable."
Installed Ripper Rom. Worked of a couple days but was ultimately unstable.
I've recently flashed it back to the MK3 firmware via ODIN. It's still unstable.
I've determined it must be some hardware fault in the tablet, and I'm going to sell it for parts. I've bought an ASUS transformer TF701T tor replace it.
I wish you luck and hope your problem is software only. But I've heard many of these tablets go unstable after a while, and fear it is a hardware thing.

Much to her annoyance my partner's S6 Edge got automatically upgraded to MM.
So to back MM out I flashed the phone with a Lollipop 5.11 stock rom.
All of that worked fine, but to our surprise we found that even though I had performed a factory reset before and after the flash a lot of the apps and data reappeared when the phone was first booted.
This is puzzling and a bit worrying.
Does anyone know how this might have happened?
EDIT: I should add that this "magical restore" happens even though no Google or Samsung account has been set up. It apparently takes place during the boot process.
Samsung Galaxy S7 , stock Nougat rom, XEF France.
After waited 2 months in addition to other countries like Trinidad-Tobago, Chad, Vanuatu etc., for the Nougat rom, received about a week ago, ... lots of happiness.
Installed, made a factory reset, installed again like new. From that moment, once a day reboots, in time of use. Until now it reboots just when I use it, no heat, no heavy usage, today when I tracked a bike trip, yesterday when transfered a file to my S7 through bluetooth. No reboots during "sleep".
No changes made to rom, everything is stock. Same apps I used with marshmallow.
Is there a log where I can look? Can I use an app to track this?
Thanks.
Update
Done a new reinstall, this time installed marshmallow and made ota update to nougat. No problems 2 days, this morning entered google play, updated some apps and it rebooted again.
So the rebooting happens with screen on, using the phone.
Hello I have a Galaxy S7 and since the update to Android Nougat 7.0, my phone restarts randomly, it can stay an entire week without restart and it can also restart 2 days in a row. It's totally random. I have reset to the factory settings and I have reinstalled only the most important applications (facebook messenger, viber, yahoo mail) but unfortunately about ten days after reset, the problem has reappeared. What could be the cause of this problem? For info, the firmware version installed on my phone is: G930FXXU1DQBO. Also, I saw on SamMobile that the countries that received the update later, had a new version. Could the problem come from that? Is this a bug in the firmware installed on my Galaxy S7. Thank you in advance for your help.
My galaxy s7 issue with reboots, every day, i did a full wipe data and cache, another rom and nothing
