Firstly, I'd like to apologize if this has been asked before but I was unable to find it in the forums so thought of posting a new thread.
After updating to GB 2.3.5 (XWKPG) and then 2.3.6 (DDKP1) via Kies, i've noticed that the call connect and disconnect process starts to lag after 2-3 days of use. I've used the task manager to clear the RAM as well as clean up the memory but the only thing that seems to fix the issue is restarting the phone. It's very annoying to have to do that every other day. Also, push notifications in Whatsapp seem to have a problem. On waking up the screen the messages come through after a few seconds. K9 Mail seems ok though. Noticed that GTalk keeps signing off automatically every couple of minutes. Any Suggestions??
I'm facing not only the same dialer lag issue, but successive call windows if I had used the swipe gesture to call multiple times (since the first call window didn't show up in time)!
With Froyo, the dialer would still lag, sometimes as bad a 3-4 minutes! However, will not go to the extent of dialing multiple times.
I don't know why Samsung does such a bad job of upgrades.
I never experienced lag like you, timbuctoo. which version of froyo were you using?
@ prana, upgrading by kies always seems to cause problems. the best thing to do is to use odin. check the stock rom thread for more details.
Odin or Kies are the same thing. I upgraded with Kies and Odin, with the two, my phone was laggy.

stock dialer or modded?
With stock. But all the phone laggy, not only the dialer.

since you don't give exact details, I'll assume you upgraded with kies, then when it didn't work correctly, you flashed the same exact fw with odin.
so, to fix it for sure, go backwards and flash pit, kpe ONCE, kph ONCE, and kpq ONCE. this is my method for getting to kpq with no issues.

My thread. But I send my phone in a center, I was tired of laggy.
I will retire it the 27th.
Will Try with Odin..
I try thirthy time with odin, any thing I do the phone laggy. And I'm not the only one with this issue. The problems is Samsung update or the hardware. It's why I send it to the center. (For information only froyo does'nt laggy)
@Ryryoku: I have noticed the same thing. Froyo doesnt lag but GB does. However, this is my last try with GB, else I'm going back to froyo. Only problem with Froyo is that it would Force Close a lot on my device. GB is much better that way.
EDIT2: It seems that it wont remember settings either. I disable WiFi, and after reboot its back on. Same with all other settings. If I uinstall an app, its back in normal function after reboot. If I install a new app, its gone after reboot. And I cant even perform a hard reset, everything back to normal after I tried it... sick stuff!!
EDIT: Actually it seems like it wont accept new installations or something. Because now it found new updates to apps I did upgrade earlier this morning already...
Its the two latest installed apps Im missing after installing them (Swiftkey X and Dolphin Browser HD). Also now Im trying to upgrade my phone to version 4 of android, but after downloading the firmvare, it need a restart and then I have the same problem as with the apps. Its like I never downloaded the firmware, tried 3 times now and all 3 times the same happens. Anyone have similar problems with their phones??
Also noticed that last the phone reset itself it yesterday at approximately 9.04 (that was when my weather app last updated). Really wonder what can cause this? No one with any similar experiences or possible solutions?
I'm Having trouble with my Samsung Galaxy SIII Verizon, Every 30 days or so I have to do a mater reset because my keyboard won't show at all, whether searching google or writing an SMS it just never pops up, This will be the 3rd time i have had to perform a master reset since december and it's getting old. I am running the stock ROM, non Rooted. Eveything about this phone is stock, Verizon will not replace it because Performing a master reset resolves the issue and the keyboard works immediately after the reset, I've even tried not installing any other apps and used only my on device apps and my Nexus 7 for everything else. and the problem still occurs. I searched the forums for the same issue but came up empty handed and even searched google where I was presented with other issues that were similar, but not the same as what i'm seeing with my device. This has only happened since I upgraded to Jellybean 4.1.1, Baseband I535VRBLK3, Build# JR003L.I535VRBLK3
Edited for the third time. Apparently Ididn't fix my problem.
So I'm running Cyanogenmod 10.3 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 (p5113***), and for some strange reason, my tablet keeps restarting randomly. I'd be reading a PDF or scrolling through some random app, and it'd suddenly freeze and the tablet would restart.
This all happened after I was typing a message on the Facebook app when it abruptly freezes and puts me through a restart loop that eventually ended. But when I finally got to startup without a crash, I'd see, almost immediately, a notification telling me that "Trebuchet has stopped responding", and my only option is to hit Ok. And I do, and most of the time, it crashes right afterwards.
At first, I was able to 'fix' (I think) this by freeing up space on my internal storage, because an app was on an update loop trying to install an update that was too big for whatever space I had left. I assumed it was eating up memory, space, and RAM and overwhelming my OS, so I uninstalled it and everything worked fine for most of the night. Later, I was reading a PDF file when Adobe just stopped working, froze, and put me through another restsart loop.
Also, I would like to point out that it is extremely difficult to turn this tablet off. It usually loops a few times before shutting down. Also, CM is updated to the latest STABLE update, which is not at all recent.
All this after Facebook crashed. I seriously have no idea what I do, and I would rather not reinstall CM, because it was an ADVENTURE trying to install it the first time, and I heard it's even more difficult and dangerous to uninstall and restore to factory settings. I'm not really good at this stuff.
Please help. Please.
*** Apparently my tablet is p5110, and the version of CM I installed was compatible with p5113, but it managed to work anyways, so I just shrugged and let it happen. And it has been working for the past 14 months, prior to the Facebook crash that started this mess.
Don't mean to bump, but I'm only replying to myself to show that my original post edit is now moot, because the problem resurfaced ... help.
I don't have a solution to you, but will share my own experience on the 5113. I have two of them. One has been stable since I bought it, except for a brief time when it had the awful first 4.2 update, eventually fixed by the MK3 firmware update. It's working fine. My other one has been a nightmare all year long, after six or eight months of stability after I bought it.
I've installed CM on in, in early June. Unstable.
I've installed Omnirom on it shortly afterward. It was more stable, but still not "stable."
Installed Ripper Rom. Worked of a couple days but was ultimately unstable.
I've recently flashed it back to the MK3 firmware via ODIN. It's still unstable.
I've determined it must be some hardware fault in the tablet, and I'm going to sell it for parts. I've bought an ASUS transformer TF701T tor replace it.
I wish you luck and hope your problem is software only. But I've heard many of these tablets go unstable after a while, and fear it is a hardware thing.
