Can installing busybox brick my galaxy gio? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Once i intalled busybox using busybox installer successfully from google play. After that i bricked my gio by flashing a kernel. The repair shop reflashed stock rom.
Now the problem is should i install busybox because it doesnt have right now? I am afraid of bricking my phone again. If there is even 1% chance of bricking, i wont install it. Please reply

superuser was automatically installed after rooting. While upgrading from kies will not wipe data and apps, it will remove root. Since superuser is an app it is not removed and when you updated through kies it removed your root that's why you can't unroot aince your are now not rooted. Try a root app if it works.. if not then your are not rooted anymore..

You can do a hard reset to wipe everything. Or you could just uninstall traces of root like superuser

[Q] is it possible to flash cwm in my galaxy pro?

Hi,2 weeks ago I was trying to install custom rom on my galaxy pro GTB750 using rom manager.while I was trying to take a stock rom backup my handset got bricked.however I had a warrenty and so they fixed my set for free.they have changed the motherboard.well,I rooted my set again today.this time I am not going to try custom rom.I wish to install a zip file, where they are saying to install via clockworkmod recovery.
Should I try it? How to install cwm? Via rom manager? Last time I did not found my handset on rom manager's cwm version list. but I selected another version and they said successfully installed.
Feel free to suggest me.I am not afraid of brick my phone and you do not have to take responsibility for suggesting me.

[Q] How to root after updating to 4.0.4 Official

I just did the update to Android 4.0.4 through Kies today. As I've determined I'm not a fan of Touchwhiz, I'd like to root my Skyrocket.
Does anyone know if the root process for 2.3.6 would also work for this version? If not, does anyone know where I could find how to root the device?
Search is your freind. LOL even thou it says for ics leak, it works on the factory stuff as well as GB 2.3.6

I rooted the stock ICS earlier today via this method, and can confirm that it works.
I used this method on UCLF5 and root explorer routinely has problems mounting system. Not sure why.
You need to make sure u have busybox installed. I know that works for me, for i used to have the same issues. It didnt matter if it was GB or ics. Iam sure others will disagree, but just telling how i fixed that problem on my phone.

I need a little help here, Noobie that I am.....I had rooted sr brought it back to stock and then upgraded it to ics 4.04 stock. Then rooted it again using the methods found in this thread. I got it to take after the third time and it show superuser in the apps section and I can open it. I downloaded pro copy of titanium pro and the free version but it tells me the phone is not rooted:crying: I and that I need to ensure I have busybox. I download that also and i still cannot get titanium to knowledge the root. Any suggestions would be most helpful. I would like to freeze some of the bloatware as I did when I had gingerbread 2.36 and had titanium running.
update: used the newest version of superuser and installed busybox installer and still no go. I downloaded root check and it says not rooted. guess when I get home tonight I will re-root again....
Just use cwr with odin 1.85 use latest superuser 3 05 efghi. You may have to do it at least 3 times until is done

So you already flashed CWM? Then Download the ZIP file of SuperSU and Flash it with CWM?
Also i Recommend a XDA thread instead of youtube since XDA thread are more secure.
I've tried to flash but its not working.

Are you sure its not already ready to go since you rooted if so just download supersu from the google play store and see if that works.
It downloaded but now it says I don't have root access.

Help me out guyz

I have rooted my Galaxy Grand Neo Plus using instructions from one of the threads from xda itself. I used kingo root ( not King root) to root my device. Well, I was glad when it was successful but....it installed another superuser app instead of SuperSu . I installed supersu from store and that asked to update binaries....i tried to solve that problem by flashing a su bb installer attached in a video....but..it failed. My su binaries are still not updated....and my root is not stable bcoz of that....please help me out guyz

i would re-flash stock and start over with the correct files. once you mess up root it usually not a simple fix to get it straightened out, and in many cases its not fixable at all without starting over.
Thanks for responding me....
I understood you when I said " it's not a easy task" but.....
There might be any recovery for my device to get out of this trouble.
Or...should I root it once again with any good tool..m.could I suggest for specifically Galaxy Grand Neo Plus

i really dont know if there is some way around this for your device. it has been my experience with many devices that there is not, but i didnt want to say there is no way ever, because i obviously cant be familiar with every device ever made.
your best option, and the only one i know of, is to start over with clean stock.
Okay
