Can you get back into odin/download mode? If you can then redo the guide to root/unlock/custom recovery via odin. Make sure to follow the steps exactly and only use pda. I assume you are using this guide HERE to root and unlock JellyBean.

Got the yellow triangle with " unauthorized software found on your device. Return to authorized Verizon dealer." I was trying to return this to stock and the directions on Odin said the bootloader had to be locked. I took the EZunlock and locked it back then all hell broke loose. Any ideas?

where did u read the bootloader had to be locked? all u need to do is odin back to stock, root, unlock bootloader.
All you need to do is download Odin, and and whatever tar file you want, boot phone into download (volume down, home, power), select yes when it asks are you sure, open Odin, select the tar file and start. Easy schmeasy

You rebooted your phone after locking the bootloader. You shouldn't have done that. Your issue isn't unfixable tho, not by any means. IIRC VRALF2 I'm pretty sure is the only stock image that doesn't re-lock the bootloader(I haven't tested all of them). If you choose VRALG1 that will re-lock the bootloader for you when you flash it, it did for me the other day when I started over.
Just boot into download mode and flash the G1 thru Odin then do a factory wipe and you should be fine. I'm 99% sure you didn't trip the flash counter doing this, someone else chime in on this please?
And make sure you use PDA mode when you use Odin and don't unplug your phone from it until it says finished(even if it says removed, let it continue rebooting and doing its thing before unplugging. The Start and Cancel buttons should 'come back to life' when it's ok)
This might be the source the OP was referring to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867253&highlight=odin+to+stock
Although it clearly says to NOT reboot after re-locking your bootloader, it does say that the first step is to lock it before flashing to stock via Odin. Further down in the thread he says he'll remove it from the guide, but I don't think flashing stock via Odin locks the BL so if youre trying to return it to Verizon I would lock it first.

Certain stock images do. I've had g1 lock and I've read that he will to.
Don't get me wrong, locking it yourself prior to flashing thru Odin is a good thing to do just to make sure. It's easier than having to re-root just to lock it then flash all over again.

the only stock rom i have found that locks the bootloader is vralhd... are you sure g1 locked your bootloader because i thought we had this conversation already lol? unless your returning the device, why would you even want to lock it back up?

Yeah, I meant HD, not HE.
We did, but that was when I flashed F2. F2 doesn't lock it, but a week or so ago I had to flash back to stock to start over, used G1 and it re-locked my bootloader on me.
One of these days when I'm bored I'll sit down and try them all just to double check too.

Don't over think it. This is simply happening because the bootloader is locked and your trying to run a custom rom. Just restore to stock and you're fine.

We don't have a Note 2 go to the Note 2 forums to get help.
I tried installing a ROM i found on this forum but when i went to reboot and turn back on a warning messege appeared saying something along the lines that the OS was blocked by verizon wireless and i had to bring my phone to the nearest store. It wouldnt reboot into recovery it just kept flashing back to the messege. Im not sure what i did but i managed to boot the phone into something called ODIN mode? It asked me if i wanted to install some firmware in which i assumed was the finishing process to the ROM installation but now its just hungup at the "Downloading...Do not turn off target!!" screen. Im not sure what to do from here any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

First, relax if you're nervous. There is nothing wrong. You didn't unlock your bootloader before flashing the rom, that's why the message is there. Read some of the threads (I'm mobile so I can't link but I'm sure there stickied in one of the sections) about restoring to stock. Grab the Odin file and read a tutorial if the thread doesn't have one on how to flash it. It's just another method of flashing to stock. I would give you step by steps if I wasn't on my phone in bed, if you still need help tomorrow hit me with a pm and ill help you as soon as I get home from school. I can get you familiar with the important things about rooting and flashing on this phone.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is it okay to power off the phone if it says its downloading still. And my phone used to be rooted until the OTA updated it to 4.0.4 for some reason it completely slipped my mind to unlock the bootloader again.
You aren't downloading unless you've hooked your phone to your computer and have run Odin

If you have twrp, and can get to it, install the ucmc1 stock ROM by Mohan. .tar file is for Odin only. Also, read vincoms sticky again (and again)

FIXED
Did every thing in Vincoms procedures. Nothing worked. Talked to Samsung and they said when original update failed to complete it did not leave enough info for recovery to finish it. BUT ! Samsung said to just go to ATT Service center store ( not retail ) and have them flash phone for free back to original. Took ATT all of 10 minutes ! Phone is like new. Now why did the original Samsung rep I first talked not tell me aboyt ATT re flash? Anyway phone is fixed

Question.
When they flashed your phone, did they flash it to JB? Or did they flash it to ICS and you updated it to JB? (Or neither?) The first time I tried to update my phone via Kies, the same thing happened to me and AT&T said they couldn't flash my phone. (Maybe it has to do with where you're from?) I had to send my phone to Samsung and I got it back with ICS, and I'm afraid to do the update via Kies because I don't want it to do that again, or I'll have to send it to Samsung again.
Basically, I'm trying to figure out if I can do the update safely now.

Nothing is ever safe. Either take the risk or don't. Or just Odin it yourself instead of sending your phone away like a tard.

Sorry, it would have probably been easier if I just linked my original thread. I used Odin, I did everything I could. It just wouldn't completely transfer, it would just do basically what this persons phone was doing from what I can tell.
I understand there's a risk, and that's why I haven't done it yet. I just figured I'd ask, I'd be a lot more comfortable doing it if it worked for him
So I was going along the steps in this thread right here, working on rooting and unlocking my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2046439
I downloaded everything, Booted into ODIN mode and flashed the VRALEC, rebooted the phone into ODIN mode and flashed the custom recovery, I have a little unlocked padlock on my loading screen now so Im assuming thats how I know it worked. Unfortunately, I forgot to uncheck "Auto-Reboot". Now I'm too scared to go any further because the post says thats a very important step...so yea. Does anyone know if it's possible to roll it back to stock condition and start from scratch? And if it is, can anyone point me in the direction of learning how to do that? Thanks.

I gues I've managed to somewhat brick my S7. I installed a bootloader I got from here, and went thru the root steps, I chose NOT to wipe data at the end of the root. Seeing as the whole point for rooting was to be able to see some files that required I root the phone in order to access. Now the phone will boot and get stuck at the T-mobile splash screen. I can still get into ODIN mode, and can reset the phone using buttons. It just gets stuck at the T-Mobile screen each time. Is there anyway to walk back from this and get the phone back to regular working order?

hope it can help
I'll give that a try. Not a big deal if I can't get it. My kids use it to play mobile games and such on, so they're kinda upset. But I'll mess with it some more.
Thanks for replying

once you root you have to do factory reset otherwise It wont boot
follow here to root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-s7-s7edge-oreo-nougat-t3819616
first odin the stock base you will get all the files here

The root worked fine, but like you said it won't boot since I didn't do a factory reset at the end of it. So you're saying if I flash the stock stuff back onto it via Odin it will return to working order?
