You get google now by updating/installing google search from play store.
This rom already has google now btw, i don't know why alexvtr doesn't see it.
For anyone needing root, this root method works.
And for everyone who only wants the radio you can get it below
I have tested this myself on my own i727r and it worked perefctly.

probably none.. We really only got one out of the leaks 2 if you include jedi but i mean idk if mohan will even change bases because theirs probably no real changes from the leaks.. All of our devs are about cm10 and 10.1 nothing is touchwiz anymore

Mohan can't do much more until he can access kernel source for it that's where he will do his thing. Most of the devs choose aosp because they can actually modify it we don't get source for tw stuff so you can mod the kernel and theme it so meh.

And, once again, how come rogers still say this update isn't out yet?

For future reference all Rogers/Telcel/AT&T roms work on any i727/i727r. You can't flash this zip with custom recovery, you'll need Odin to flash it from Windows.
1 Unzip the file into it's own folder.
2 Run Odin.
3 In Odin click PDA and select the the tar.md5 file.
4 Put phone in download mode:
4.1 ATT PHONES - Press and keep down both Volume Up and Volume Down keys simultaneously.
ROGERS PHONES - Press and keep down only the Volume Down key.
4.2 While holding above said button(s) press the power button.
5 Now click Start in Odin and leave your computer alone. Go for a walk.
6 Your phone will restart when it's done, after it booted up leave it alone for 5 minutes.
7 Done.
Also look at this picture.
Can you root with su-busybox?

You silly bugger, i just said that it doesn't work a couple of posts above
But, you could try for yourself. I just flashed old cwm in odin, then updated cwm to latest and my phone got stuck again at the glowing samsung logo. I realized it wasn't because of su-busybox. Removed battery, put it back in and it booted up. So maybe i should've done this with su-busibox too.
Hours of stupid kies
Backed up. Flashed back to stock. let Kies update itself for a long time... couldn't see the phone
Tried most of the above again still no phone...
Odin flashing it now.
Does the flash of SU and CWM root it? I don't want to have to reinstall everything when I have a fresh new TiBu on my SD card...

You need to be on stock recovery too for Kies to find the phone, sometimes you need the Kies debug drivers. You can try the su-busybox flash, it may work. Read the whole thread for more info on root .
On a sidenote has anyone tested the mods for UCLL3 on this yet?

It is a maintenance update AFAIK (to repair the crashing of Settings while uninstalling any app). There maybe other improvements but I didn't notice any.

Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
It is more or less equivalent to XXKB3 in usability, here are few things I noticed as compared to DDKB2:
1. GPS is way better (Got an instant lock on 3 Sat using Sygic)
2. Boot/Shutdown time is less
3. Battery backup is better (but not better than KB3)
4. No more crashing of process.com.android.settings while uninstalling apps
5. Relatively smooth transitions
6. More free space (18MB) in system partition than XXKB3 (11.8MB)
Formatted internal SD and installed this update via Kies. Let's see how it goes...
Any idea when we might have an official gingerbread update?

First of all download XXKB3
Use the link for flashing procedure
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004622
1)Flash XXKB3 twice with the pit file.
2)then flash DDKF1 since its a single file you need to flash it in PDA( no need to use pit file)
3) connect to kies, if it says device cannot be updated
4) flash DDKF1 again
5) now kies should say latest version
Note: hard reset after every flash that is dial *2767*3855# once you reach the homescreen

IF you have ddkf1 as single files, put it as pda in ODIN and flash. This is how i do to get back from kph. In case you get bootloop, go to recovery, wipe cache and data.

Hello again everybody!
In #skyrocket irc.irondust.net, I've been working with the awesome Kuraijay to get a flashing method going that bypasses odin entirely, letting us flash without the bootloader restrictions (that don't allow you to flash rogers radio to AT&T phone for example)
Well, it works! I'm putting together a package for things now.
Can someone who is on the AT&T OTA 2.3.6 update (rooted) please dump the radio and upload it for me?
Here's how:
boot to CWM
connect usb
open command prompt, adb shell
on the CWM screen, go to mounts and storage -> mount emmc
type:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/emmc/radio-dump.bin
then type "exit" to leave adb shell when it's done
now:
"adb pull /emmc/radio-dump.bin ."
That should leave you with radio-dump.bin in the current folder, zip that, upload and link please
I currently have a copy of the stock AT&T radio, and the stock Rogers radio. I have confirmed the ability to flash back and forth between versions so now we need to get them together so I can make a nice post explaining how and provide easy CWM zips
This allows flashing back to fully stock without triggering the flash counter or using odin at all. Should be able to provide a CWM zip that works great to flash back to stock!
Obligatory screenshot (note this is from an AT&T Skyrocket

There are few roms that are set up for 21y right now so it shouldn't be an issue if you don't upgrade but if you need it there's these zips one makes old ROMs work on the the new BB (march2012) and the other makes new 21y roms work on older Basebands http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714536

I have the new t-mobile rom with 21y in....
So this is not rooted anything correct??
SO I did superonetouch.. ROOT only - worked.
Then realised that I dont have CWm on it..
So I got superonetouch CWM - I tried to apply this to the rooted phone.. but I cannot get into S/W upgrade. up and down volume on power up does not work.
So do I need to unroot it.. and try with just CWM??
Thanks

The instructions for flashing CWM in this does not work on my phone now that I am running 21y.. is there something wrong???
James
What do you mean by up and down on power up exactly? You have to have the battery removed then connect your phone to the computer via the USB cable and when you are at this screen, then hold both the volume +/- buttons at the same time while choosing which CWM to flash then a cmd prompt should pop up saying something about initializing bootloader and after a few seconds your phone should turn on with S/W Upgrade screen

If you follow the instructions correctly, it will work.
Did you install the drivers?
Did you take the battery out?
Did you press both volume buttons and hold them down then plug in the usb cable?
Did you keep the buttons pressed down throughout the process until it finished?
Recheck the instructions and follow them exactly.

Post if it works or not.
Ok... so up and running on July nightly of p-999 CM7 and new base band with the Faux 50 KERNEL.
The phone information is reporting the wrong phone #. Its not the sim, an earlier rom reports correct phone #..
ANY ideas on this on?

It is indeed a different model, i9120 and i727 are different phones. So for future reference your phone isn't Galaxy S II LTE in the international sense of the internet.
When searching for info for our phone these are the keywords to look for "SGH-i727 / SGH-i727r / i727 / i727r / Skyrocket". Any of those are correct.
This forum is the correct one. All the roms here should work as advertised.
I mean seriously, you might as well download a rom for motorola razr v3i and then ask why you're phone is bricked.
To avoid further confusion on your part read all the stickies in this forum and all of the sections, if you don't want to throw away your phone and if you want to learn how to do things that work.
CyanogenMod 10 for the Skyrocket is found here (<--link).
Good luck fine sir I wish you all the best.

Odin back to stock. You probably mucked it up with the wrong roms. And if you don't know how to do that you shouldn't be flashing anything.

Like i said at the first time i install the right cm10 to skyrocket, but the keys dont work, i try to install the new 4.1.2 official rom of rogers, the lights of soft keys turn on, but still not working..

Can you define what you mean by "lost my soft keys" .... ?
Are the haptic buttons on your phone not working or are you talking about having true soft keys, as in part of the UI?

Gotcha ...
Then my advice would be that if you lost the ability to use those buttons because of a specific ROM, you'll need to post that feedback into the appropriate ROM thread for assistance.

I've installed the new german jelly bean firmware. All went ok, but i have only 550MB of ram available. Went from official gingerbread to JB. Was I supposed to tick repartition in odin to get the maximum ram available (625MB)??

Have you put a single file in PDA ? Or 3 different files in Phone, PAD and CSC ?
What about the bootloader ? Have you ticked the box ?

Ok thanks for the answer. because with previous JB versions (for th I8160), doing so could lead to hardbrick the device when coming from official JB.
EDIT : byt the way, do you have an "easy mode" that displays big icons and widgets in the settings ? Or contacts and favorite apps widgets ? Like

- it is possible that firmware from i8160p model to work in i8160; because pcb from i8160P (like the picture from attach) is the same with pcb from i8160 (like my model i8160 coa): - pcb from my i8160 has even 2 pins for nfc;
