FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions): http://ProfReminder.com/faq/

Thanks a lot for sharing your work.
Particularly appreciated a couple of features: profiles support and low memory (and hopefully battery) consumption.
Edit: After a while I can really appreciate the UI and the design. Could you consider, for the next release, a way to save/restore the configuration?

Updated to version 1.0.3 (Fixed: Now notifications will not play during outgoing call).
daigoro64
Good idea, i will think about it.

prof reminder review
Thanks a lot, for this cool application. I'm still not sure why this functionality isn't integrated in android by default
I'm still testing the application, but so far so good.
Some suggestions could be save/restore the configuration like daigoro64 suggested.
Also I think you should place enable/disable buttons for profiles next to the title of the profile.
Currently I have to hold the profile to get the popup, and then click enable/disable. This way is just more convenient.
And I found one bug, if I am writing a reply to the received text message, I still get notifications, even though I have read the message, and I am in the process of replying.

vladimir_the_great
About saving/restoring configurations: I added it in to my todo list, but with low priority.
About enable/disable button for profiles: Why you think it will be more convenient? Do you need often enable/disable some profiles?
About bug. Please answer on questions:
1) This happens only when you writing reply?
2) How often this happens?
3) Do you use standart program or a third-party for writing reply?
4) Do you have installed third-party diallers?
5) Do you have installed some contact/message manager programm?
6) Do you have installed other reminder programms?
7) Do you have installed Task Killers?
8) Do you have installed some programms for checking balance (like cluBalance, USSD Checker) ?
9) Which model phone ?
10) Which Android version ?
11) Firmware on the phone standard or modified?

Thanks for a quick reply
I have created probably 6 profiles, but I have four that I change regularly (loud for pocket during the trip to work, at work, at home, during the night).
Sometimes I have to change them quick, so its not that easy.
With the buttons it would be simpler and quicker, maybe a widget
And now about the questions....
1) Yes
2) Every time, I just open a message, and still get the notifications.
3) Standard
4) ,5) ,6) No
7) I only have "Clean Master", but I skip "Prof Reminder"
8) No
9) HTC wildfire s
10 Android 2.3.5
11) I believe its standard.

vladimir_the_great
Widgets will be in next version (I hope in two weeks).
Can you send some screenshots - how you are replying to message? Does notification stop after sending reply?

@ dan_ru
I am not sure, how screenshot would help, but I can in more detail explain my observations.
When I get a message, if I open the message and start writing I still get notifications (usually my notifications are just sound), but if I open the message, close it, and then open it again, I can write a reply without notifications.
So I believe that the process is waiting for closing message event, to stop the notifications.
If you could just cancel notifications for that specific unread message, when that message has been opened.

vladimir_the_great
There are no way to detect what you are viewing message.
Try to use different message programm.

Ok, thanks This isn't a big issue, but I thought there is a quick solution.
Looking forward to the widget

what a nice and useful app:good:

Do Not Distrub
If you could add the features of a Do Not Disturb app, with a whitelist that would allow SMS and phone calls from the white list, this would be the perfect app.

Thank a lot
Thanks for this cool application

Great app
Nice app. Plain and simple.
Can you add:
- snooze button
- clear all (set all reminders done)

Updated to version 1.1.0
Change log:

wiredwrx
White and blacklist is already in progress. (But maybe it will be only in extended version).
BrankoH
Now you can stop all notifications by widget.
Regarding snooze button - I will think about it.

Great App, thx for that.
Will there maybe come a reminder for e.g. WhatsApp?
Greets,
-JD

Updated to version 1.1.2
- Fix rare crash after outgoing call on some devices (Thanks Igor K.).
- Updated link for translating (Now GoogleDoc is used instead PoEditor).
- Updated French translation.
JohnDoy100
I'll try to add notification for 3d-party applications later.

Thanks for this great app. But I've question: Wouldn't it stop ringing, when I saw the unanswerred call or if I read a message?
It still rings, even when I remove notification about unanswerred call or if I read a message. It continously rings.
Can you tell us how to repair it or fix it?
Platform: Pentagram Monster (Innos D9) ICS 4.0.4
Contact programm and dialer: ROCKET Dialer.

Astania
Thanks.
Notifications will be stopped after opening calls log (in stock dialler) and/or after reading unreaded messages (in stock message client).
Try to use stock dialer.

[APP] Sorry2BLate : send automatic message when you're late

Here is my first application called Sorry2BLate available in the market (free app).
If you are late on a daily basis route or journey, usually you take your phone and call or send a message to recipients. This application take care of sending message itself. Set your checkpoints, your recipients, the repeating days and others options and it's done.
Unlike other geolocalized application, this one take care of where you're not and not where you are !
Geolocation works on GPS and/or Wifi/Cell networks.
Other options :
Advance settings to not send message when you're in advance.
User confirmation or not before sending message
Add your location on message
Non geolocalized message (to send message at a specific datetime)

Widget displaying also scheduled alarm
Sending message when arriving in checkpoints (when you're late or not)

If you want to test the next version feel free to email or pm me.
New version available :
See last post for new features.
A few explanations:
List active geolocation based alarm (late alarm).
A click on alarm's title open main application, click on next button to cycle through alarm.
Round bitmaps under alarm's title are checkpoints (control point defined on maps). There are green when not late, red when late, no color when undefined.
Maximum number of bitmap is 10 so only the 10 firsts are displayed.
Battery should not suffered from widget, refresh time is set to 5 hours and each time the status of a checkpoint changes (the last alarm displayed will be the alarm with last checkpoint updated).
Minor version available :
- Scheduled Alarms now appearing in Widget

[APP] gX Blacklist, incoming call filter, shush! like, and night mode. All in one!

gX Blacklist
Incoming call filter
Want to master incoming calls ? Turn off ringing or force vibrate/ring modes for lists of phone numbers, according to the time of the day, the day of the week (and even if you are in holidays or not). Multiple lists, with priorities, advanced scheduler to set activation hours and days, and fill each list with green and black phone numbers, from your contact list, or manually. You can also use jokers in the numbers (phone areas).
NO NEED TO ROOT
For guys who does not want to root Android, this app is still working!
Shush! like app
The idea is the same, but the implementation is radically different:

A WIDGET is available to trigger Rest mode, to cancel it, or to launch a panel to choose rest duration.
Night mode
Choose the time you want to automatically switch to silent/vibrate/airplane mode, and the time in the morning to come back to the previous mode.
Each night, the mode will protects your sleeping time.

Cant install it from the market, even by using Marketenabler, plz could someone upload the apk, thanks.
Why can't you install it? Is the market that filter the app when you search gX Blacklist? Or is it an error when you install it? I cant give you the APK: install cannot work from outside of the market: the app will block if installed directly from APK.
gX Blacklist in the french magazines
gX Blacklist is now published in the Mobiles magazine, special edition "Android Apps mania, Vol.2", with a full five stars rating!
A new Rest mode!
You can now activate Rest mode only with VOL- button!
From version 1.4.0 (please update it if needed ) and with "Basic features" activated, go into the parameters tab of the app, and check the rest mode control with VOL-.
Then, when you turn on the silent/vibrate mode with your VOL- button, you'll have a popup that will give you possibility to engage a rest (by double clicking on VOL-, follow the instructions on your screen to know how it works ).
All configuration (duration and ringing volume to restore) is done with the VOLUME buttons only. And if you don't want to engage a rest, do nothing, the popup will close itself after 3 seconds

[APP] Phone Notifier (remind messages and missed calls)

Hi,
I just have finished the development of (another) application that reminds repeatedly for sms/mms and missed calls.
The amazing of this application is that you can configure the sound, repeat interval, repeats count, vibration and led color.
Also, you can set the instant of the remind ends (via a max number of repeats or when the screen becomes on, the device becomes unlocked, etc)
Battery friendly
The application and the associated services are only executed when a SMS/MMS arrives or when a missed call is detected, and are destroyed when the notification ends.
Only when you have a missed call and/or unread message are resident in memory.
Permissions
In order to implement these features, I need to use the next permissions:
- Boot completed: To start the notifications when the phone boot ends, if the case
- Vibrate: For make effective the vibration, if configured
- Receive SMS/MMS: For receive a event, and start the service just when a SMS/MMS is received
- Read SMS: For access to the SMS/MMS database (in order to test for unread messages)
- Read Phone State: For receive a event when a incoming call ends (in order to start the service, if is a missed call)
- Read Contacts: Needed to access to the CallsLog (in order to test for missed calls)
- Wake lock: Needed to set the screen on (if configured)

Let your LED show your missed calls, SMS, Facebook or Whatsapp messages (if you have no led (hardware), the screen is used).
Warning: Unlike other apps in this category you don't need 'ROOT' access to use this app and this app is very battery friendly!
Hint: If you have problems please do a full re-install and/or reboot your phone. Otherwise contact me over the in-app function!
Warning: If you use a Samsung S3 (Mini) you have to disable Samsung TTS (text-to-speech) under settings -> apps manager -> all (on the right) and Google TTS (text-to-speech).
Only needed when you use the accessiblity service!
And this app doesn't use internet permission, your data is SAFE!!!
Please try the lite version first to test the hardware led (on screen led is always working).

Let your led blink with different lights!
Some hints from questions in this thread:
you dont need root rights! thats a big point.
the on screen led is always working!
but first try hardware led of course.
your data is always safe
but the "paid version" needs more permissions (for google things) to read your personal data.
thats why the paid version has no internet right.
the lite version needs internet only 4 a little ad banner at the bottom.
here is the apk for the lite version, check it out and give some feedback!

Is this different then LighFlow?
Hi,
Two questions:
- My problem with an app like LightFlow was the amount of "alarms" it created, thous reducing battery-life. How does this one behaves?
- Does it disable the other ones (like Whatsapp, does it keep working when you have this app installed)?
Regards,
you dont need root rights! thats a big point.
the on screen led is always working.
but first try hardware led of course.
its very simple, too
sorry i missed one little translation in the settings menu - led position
oben = up
unten = down
update is online in 1 hour at google play.

1) LEDBlinker creates only one notification at the same time (the last one wins the race)
2) other notifictions should work normally, try the lite version first!
Very useful app, thanks!
