I did try this on my Explorer:
1)Use twrp 2.2.2.1 recovery.
2)Enable rm -rf instead of formatting.
3)Wipe system then dalvik and then factory reset.
4)Don't mount anything.
5)Flash rom and reboot in to system when boot animation comes wait for 15 mins and then unlock the ring.
6)Upon unlocking, htc logo will come for upto 20 seconds and then phone will go in to the setup.
7)Complete the setup and leave phone for 5 mins to get stable.
8)Restart in to recovery to flash fly script for increasing the memory and reboot in to system.
9)Again restart in to recovery to flash Fly customizer.
9)Reboot and Enjoy sense 4.0A
Press thanks if I helped.
No offense but..
I did this; 7-8 times thinking I had done something wrong but I kept getting random reboots each time.

This forum won't allow me to post on the roms section because I have less than 10 posts -_-. I did everything required, I wiped data cache dalvik cache and used rom manager to make a backup. Then used it's install rom from sd card. The flash failed I get a boot logo that never goes past boot. Booted into ClockworkRecovery using the 3 button trick. It beeps five times and the green light comes on but the screen is black and ADB can't see the device when I adb remount. Any suggestions?
Please trash this thread I don't see a way to do it. I fixed my own problem.
i would like to know how the flash process works.
For example: after flashing a rom, why the first boot take longer then the others? When i flash a rom i write in system, boot and so on, What else is needed?
Get ROM file on sdcard
Boot into recovery
Backup existing rom
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache and dalvik
Install from sdcard
Reboot!
As far as I know, there is no way to speed up the first boot, but it usually only take ~5 minutes. That's acceptable because every boot after that is < 1 minute.
Hello !
I have this phone since yesterday and I have a problem.
I want to install X-Gamerz v2.6 Rom. I have done the KPE clean part, but after I flash CF Root LF2, I don't know what to do. I have reboot the phone in recovery with volume up+home+power button, I wipe data and I selected the .zip (CM10 A4) from SDCARD to flash. It starting to flash and after 3 seconds , it start to reboot. After another 3-4 seconds it says something which look like trying to flash something in recovery, but it stop very fast and it reboots again. After 3-4 seconds it says same thing, and reboots again and again . I tried to take out the sdcard, but after reboot , the recovery says something like "Waiting to mount the SDcard (20sec)" . After 20 sec it reboots again and says same thing.
I tried to follow the steps again, but I`ve got same thing. I tried to use the phone after I flashing CF Root LF2 and it work. But if I trying to flash again CM10 A4 zip or X-Gamerz zip, it enter in bootloop again.
What I doing wrong?

KPE> LF2> CF-LF2> CM10 A4
- remove the battery (bootlop recovery) this is normal boot loop so need not worry... now start working after this step
- Wipe data factory reset
- Mounts and Storage > Format /System
-Flash x-gamerz...
Thank you. It worked

I am a relatively new android user but do enjoy flashing roms, kernels etc
My problems began when i was trying to flash a new rom on my Nexus 5
I was trying to flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655722 but despite doing a factory reset and wiping the dalvik cache and cache it refused to boot in to the new rom
I tried to flash the rom multiple times but without success, eventually when trying to boot into recovery to try again i was greeted with an unthemed TWRP recovery asking for a password despite the fact that i had a custom theme and multirom installed I tried to proceed anyways but was greeted with E: unable to mount storage
In desperation i tried to solve this problem and found this
UsoftTech :: WwW.UsoftTech.CoM ::
TWRP asking for password
After unboxing my Nexus 5, here's what I did:
1. Booted into bootloader
2. fastboot oem unlock
3. Flashed TWRP v2.6.3.0
4. Booted to recovery
The screen that greeted me says "Please Enter Your Password".
I can hit the cancel button below this which takes me to the normal TWRP screen. I then pushed SuperSU to /sdcard, but when I flash it it fails because it's unable to mount /cache or storage.
When I reboot to the system, it takes an awfully long time (approximately 30s) to progress past the "Google" screen, and then it just seems to sit on the booting animation forever.
Any help?
EDIT: Solved my own problem.
Hit cancel at the password screen, then go into Wipe and then do a factory reset by swiping. Then go back into Wipe and press the 'Format data' button. You have to type 'Yes', and it will take a few seconds. After that everything should work normally.

I now fear that i maybe without both a rom and all my files such as my music that was stored on my phone.
Is there any way for me to undo the damage i may have done to to my phone?
You can't recover the data. But you can push files over with ADB.

Hey there guys! Thanks in advance for taking the time if you're reading this... thing is I got totally hooked up on Android since 8 days ago, haven't slept much, I learnt a HUGE LOT in these past days... specially here at XDA... well, what brings me here is the following, learnt to root, to upgrade and do some minor tweaking... and now I find myself addicted to this old Samsung Fascinate I just got, it was an odissey to activate on my local carrier, had to learn to program it myself and all the stuff... well, thing is that Stock rom was kinda like missing something, so I adventured to the unknown... I'm going for KitKat... but I'm stuck at CM10, could flash CM10.1, but the only ROM could be flashed on my phone is missing it's WiFi, and can't find a fix... so... will a lovely soul help me a bit with just a word of wisdom on where to next? below I paste the list of things I've done so far so you guys have any ideas and that way I don't make you guess more than the needed... a zillion thanks in advance!!
1. Started at stock CI500_VZW_EH03_GB_CM.tar.md5 withit's atlas.pit
2. odin'd cwm-recovery-ALL.tar (CwM voodoo lagfix recovery v.2.5.1)
3. flashed root su-2.3.6.1.x succesfully
4. odin'd cwm4_fixed_for_cm7-ODIN (for cm7) and rebooted in recovery again
5. wiped the big 3 (data wipe, cache + dalvik)
6. flashed update-cm-7.2.0-Fascinate-signed.zip succesfully (waited for reboot 5 mins aprox) (no data for my Fassy on CM7)
7. wiped the big 3 again (twice, now CwM is v.5.0.2.8)
8. flashed teamhacksung-ota-eng.BUILD2.zip succesfully
9. automatically back into recovery which turned into v5.5.0.4, now for flashing cm_fascinatemtd-mtd-eng.BUILD14.zip succesfully (not after wiping data, cache and dalvik 2 times each)
10. prompted the msg: installation from zip complete, rebooted and waited for the CM9 to fully boot
11. reboot into recovery again to flash cm-10-20120721-UNOFFICIAL-fascinatemtd.zip after double wipe for the 3 to-wipe elements
12. phone rebooted to CwM recovery v6.0.1.0 and continued flashing CM10, once succesfully booted... back into recovery
13. wiped ONCE only cache and dalvik
14. got error: This ROM uses incompatible partition layout, your /data will be wiped upon installation, run this update.zip again to confirm install", looked for the same ROM and tried to reflash, came to recovery automatically where it reads down below: "CWM based Recovery v6.0.3.3., warning no file_context"
15. rebooted to recovery again, again tried to flash the same CM10.1 file, after a couple of minutes it read: Install from sdcard complete
16. wiped cache and dalvik and after that booted CM10.1, realized I couldn't go to recovery mode... tried and odin'd the CwM4 that came with CM7
17. could enter recovery mode with the the button way, installed gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip and kernel-Devil_4.2.2_fassy_07-17.zip
18.... started all over, couldn't get past from that point, any of the few ROMS I try for the Fassy give some kind of error (on the third, fourth even fifth attempt of flashing), am I missing something? ohh! btw... can't get TWMP to run properly on my phone... I think that limits me a little more, also, can't get to find the latest CwM v.6.0.6.4 for the Fascinate (if anyone would be so kind with a little direction on the topic, it'd be hugely appreciated!
thanks a zillion in advance to whoever stops by and gives a little help
